Chapter 141: Chapter 139

After lunch, Diamond left the foundation building and waited at a nearby café where she set a date with Nancy, who would be arriving at any moment.

Diamond waited in the café for fifteen minutes and, during that time, she spoiled herself with a piece of caramel cake and tropical juice.

Upon knowing that Nancy was outside, Diamond left the café and finally met the PA she went to great lengths to hire.

When Nancy saw Diamond, she respectfully looked at her before greeting her.

Diamond naturally accepted the greeting before she took Nancy to where she parked her car.

When the two of them entered the car, Diamond switched on the ignition and started the car.

Nancy watched as Diamond smoothly drove the big car and was amazed.

She had done her best to look for information regarding Diamond. But apart from the news regarding the foundation, Diamond was more of a mystery.

She barely appeared on interviews and there were a few situations where she was filmed during the donations.

Nancy wondered exactly who she was working for, but at the thought of working for such a powerful young woman, she was on cloud nine.

"I am sorry for coming late," Nancy apologized again as the car was on the highway.

Diamond smiled softly at Nancy.

"You don’t have to apologize. Since everything has been sorted out, then stop worrying."

Nancy heaved a sigh of relief upon hearing that. She was afraid that Diamond might not look at her favorably anymore since she didn’t appear on time.

When she returned to Nerton, she thought that she would be quick to sort everything out. But who would have known that a past fling of hers would start causing trouble for her?

She spent two days dealing with him so that she might leave for Frin. Fortunately, the problem was solved quickly, and she managed to take the morning flight.

She didn’t want to lose the job she had gotten after a very long time and one that was beneficial to her. She had never seen such a generous boss before. So, letting that chance go wouldn’t do her good.

Along the way, Diamond and Nancy talked about a lot of things.

"Like I told you when we met, you will be responsible for a lot of things. And you have come at the right time."

Diamond had registered a few companies the previous day, and those companies needed to start operating as soon as possible. If they couldn’t, then the framework should at least be in place.

"Don’t worry. Just leave everything to me," Nancy boasted as soon as she heard what her boss had to say.

"That’s good then."

After driving for nearly an hour, Diamond smiled as she spotted the tall apartment building with the beautiful name board so big it could be seen from afar, Greenbay Apartments.

That building was hers and just looking at it, Diamond couldn’t wait to reach there.

It took her a couple of minutes since there was no traffic.

The block had its own offices. That was something she saw on the website. Which was why Diamond just had to go there and collect the keys.

When she arrived, she parked the car in front of the building where an outside parking lot was. Since she hadn’t confirmed her identity as the owner, Diamond knew she couldn’t park in the underground parking lot.

Watching Diamond picking this and that as they were in the parking lot, Nancy couldn’t help but wonder why they were there and what she was up to.

This was her first time being in Frin. She didn’t have a place to stay and didn’t bother to look for one.

Diamond had promised to find her a place since she was familiar with the city. So, she was at ease and wasn’t worried about failing to find a place to sleep.

However, when she saw the apartment block, she was very curious. Were they there for her or for business?

The apartment block looked too luxurious and didn’t seem like a place where an employee who was just starting would be staying.

Maybe that was where Diamond was staying. That’s what she thought as she exited the car after seeing Diamond doing the same.

Diamond held the bag that possessed the house deeds and the land deeds. The system had delivered all documents to her when it rewarded her.

Instead of just getting the apartments, she also owned the land that the block was built on.

Diamond didn’t bother to chat with Nancy. She was busy observing her new asset with vigor.

The outside was magnificent, and the parking lot was spacious. Roughly judging by the park, Diamond guessed that nearly twenty cars or so could be parked.

Most of the parking space was in the block itself. As with most apartments like hers, they usually have designated parking for residents. From the information she read, Greenbay offered two assigned parking spaces for each apartment.

That meant that apart from the usual ten floors with apartments, and the ground floor where the offices were, there were two levels underground allocated for parking.

And each level could house one hundred cars. That meant that there was enough space for each apartment.

Whoever built the block was determined to secure even the vehicles, and Diamond was happy about that.

Nancy followed behind a red-dressed Diamond, who looked drop-dead gorgeous and couldn’t help but feel inferior.

When Diamond reached the block glass doors, they automatically opened, and she stepped into the building.

As soon as she walked in, she spotted a young woman seated at the desk, possibly the receptionist.

When the young woman saw that there were guests, she respectfully stood up.

It’s been a while since she started working at Greenbay and as far as she was concerned, the previous owner had changed and someone else now owned the whole block.

She didn’t know who the new owner was, but what she knew was that before the management saw the new owner, there wouldn’t be any apartments for rent or sale.

She had gotten numb to the number of times she had welcomed potential tenants and yet because they didn’t have the new owner’s contact details due to some unknown reasons, she could only apologize and watch them leave.

So, when she saw the two beautifully dressed women entering the building, she sighed helplessly inwardly as she thought of how she would be sending them away apologetically, as she couldn’t give them what they wanted.

However, as a receptionist, she had a job to do, and it started the second they walked through the door.

"Welcome to Greenbay apartments!" she welcomed the two warmly with an unfaltering smile on her face.

When Diamond saw the professionalism of the young woman, she was satisfied with her.

Since she was the new owner, she could fire the agency that was currently managing the apartments if she wanted.

Diamond smiled at her as she stopped in front of the desk.

"Thank you for the warm welcome."

The receptionist found herself in a trance after being smiled at like that. She had seen pretty people before, but the lady in front of her was at another level. How could a person be that pretty?

"Ahem," Diamond coughed slightly upon seeing how the other was staring at her blankly without doing anything.

The cough definitely played the trick as the receptionist found herself quickly coming out of the trance and looking apologetically at Diamond.

Not wanting to make things difficult for her, Diamond spoke first to dispel the tension.

"Is the manager around?"

When the receptionist heard that, she hurriedly nodded her head as she inwardly sighed with relief.

"Yes, he is here. Do you have an appointment?" she asked softly as she looked at Diamond.

Diamond shook her head calmly and answered, "I don’t have one but just inform him that Ms. Perry is here to collect the keys."

When the receptionist heard that, she didn’t dare give Diamond a double glance, but quickly picked up the telephone and dialed the manager.

[Hello, what is it?]

"Sir, Ms. Perry is here to collect the keys!" she responded.

[She is here already?]

"Yes."

[I will be out in a second.]

After that, the call was abruptly dropped, and the receptionist placed the telephone back and looked at Diamond with a smile.

"He will be here in a moment. Can you please si_?"

"There is no need for them to sit here!" a man’s voice sounded, cutting the receptionist’s sentence in half.

Diamond turned to look at the man, whom she presumed to be the manager and scanned him from top to bottom.

’He looks decent.’

The receptionist turned her head to check what her boss was trying to do, but when she saw the respectful gaze, he had when looked at the woman in red; she started guessing that something was happening that she wasn’t aware of at that moment.

"I wasn’t expecting you to come today. Please forgive me for not welcoming you warmly!" the manager apologetically said as he looked at Diamond.

He didn’t know who exactly was Ms. Perry but his several years of experience told him that the woman in red was the one calling the shots.

Besides, she fit the bill perfectly. She looked rich and someone who could afford to buy the whole block for two hundred million Atharian dollars.

From head to toe, all he could see were branded items. How could she not be the person he was looking for?
