She wasn’t a home-wrecker to begin with. Her husband never loved Diamond at all but loved her.

As for that girl that Diamond was unfortunate to become a substitute for. She didn’t need to worry about her. Since she was able to take down Diamond, who had dated her husband for over a year, dealing with that white moonlight was actually fun for her.

However, after so many years without hearing anything about Diamond, she suddenly showed up from nowhere.

If it wasn’t for Queen telling her that Diamond was living in Frin and that Theresa’s cousin had met her. She would have thought that Diamond had died a very long time ago.

After all, it was normal for heartbroken girls to commit suicide and end the shame and pain of being ditched by their lovers.

After hearing that, she devised a plan to have Queen invite Diamond to the reunion party. Her purpose was for the classmates to gauge Diamond’s current power and see if she was faring well.

But who would have guessed that what she saw in the end was something that entirely infuriated her?

Why was she prettier than before? If she had not lived with Diamond for three years at school, she would have believed that the person she saw in the photos wasn’t her.

However, that woman dressed majestically standing side by side with a gorgeous man she could see the face properly as it looked blurred, was the one person she hated more than her husband’s white moonlight.

Diamond successfully trampled on her people and put them to shame. As if it wasn’t enough, she attacked her sister, humiliated her and even made her lose face.

How could she tolerate that?

What infuriated her, though she never showed it, was how she couldn’t find anything useful on Diamond. She was afraid of using her husband’s connection to find Diamond.

With how beautiful she had become. What if they rekindled the flame and gave her the taste of her medicine?

So, she had been secretly digging into Diamond, but it wasn’t working at all.

And when she thought all hope was lost, she found Diamond trending online. Apparently, she had attended a red-carpet event in Dielas and was that famous actress Kisha’s plus-one.

Alaine was completely pissed off that night when she saw Diamond. She looked prettier than when she was at the reunion. And when she saw the clothes, she was wearing, her hatred even increased.

If Diamond was close to her, it would be a miracle if she didn’t tear her into pieces.

However, seeing the news, she had a glimmer of hope. Diamond was currently in the capital city. If she were to do the same way she did when she was in Srad, Alaine was confident that she would be able to find traces of her.

She had seen the Ace Hotel’s car that dropped Diamond and Kisha off at the event.

She would start from there and work her way if she failed to find her. Besides, she knew a few celebrities who attended that event with Diamond. So, it might be easy for her to find Diamond before she slipped away like an eel.

That was the major reason why she was going to Dielas, though there was another business she needed to attend to while she was there.

Alaine left Srad that evening and boarded the flight for Dielas.

She arrived in the capital after an hour or so and was picked up by a friend of hers who was working in the capital.

"Are you sure that you don’t want to stay at my place?" Alaine’s friend asked for the second time ever since she picked her up at the airport.

Alaine chuckled softly as she looked at her friend with a reassuring smile.

"Next time, okay. I need to handle some business and the people that I want to meet are staying at that hotel. So, it will be convenient for me to stay close. Besides, I don’t want to inconvenience you. You are already busy." Alaine explained in a coaxing manner as she looked at her friend.

The friend bloomed upon hearing that.

"Fine, I will let you off this once!"

The two friends talked happily all the way to the hotel.

Alaine wasn’t overly rich, so she didn’t book an expensive suite but went for a standard suite. It was already expensive for her to stay in such a luxury standard suite, but what else could she do when she was the one who had handpicked Ace Hotel out of all the hotels that were in the capital?

If she had picked another hotel, she would be staying in those VIP suites and living like a queen.

As soon as she entered her room, her heart ached so much. Although the room was good and felt luxurious, the money she was spending pained her.

’Diamond. I am spending so much because of you. You better appear in front of me otherwise, heh, I will make you regret it!’

As a narcissist and egoistic person, whatever she did wasn’t wrong. She was exactly like Eliza, but the sisters never really noticed that. After all, they were so good in their eyes.

After travelling, she was so tired. So, after a shower, she retired to bed and prayed to come across Diamond.

She was so eager to see who was so bored with sponsoring and supporting Diamond. That person even spent a lot of money to send Diamond to have cosmetic surgery.

What a waste!

The next day, Alaine woke up early in the morning. She did her morning exercise routine first before going to shower.

After the shower, she wore some casual clothes and prepared to start a beautiful day.

Although she was there to search for Diamond, she needed to enjoy herself and spent every cent she was paying for the hotel.

So, the first thing on her agenda that morning was having breakfast.

She took the elevator to the restaurant floor and wasn’t surprised to see the beautifully dressed ladies.

Men were not that much concerned with the way they dressed, unlike ladies. However, that didn’t faze her. After living in luxury for years, she wasn’t as ignorant as she was years ago.

She found a table to sit at and ordered her meal. As she waited for her to arrive, she chatted with her husband on the phone and maintained a smile on her face.

"Alas, I haven’t seen her for a while. Do you think that she checked out?"

"I don’t think she did. We live opposite each other, after all."

"I am just worried, though, that the path she is taking is crooked."

"But that is not your right to tell her that. Who are you to her to reprimand her like that?"

"Is it wrong for me to do that? I am her elder, after all."

"Hehe, dear. I know that you mean well, but that might be offensive. I remember you telling me that she was the only girl you were comfortable with. After all, she didn’t fawn on you."

"I know dear. She is a good girl with good principles. It’s just that ... I really don’t get it."

"Wife, how about you call her later and try meeting with her?"

"And say what?"

"Just talk things out. It wouldn’t hurt. Besides, you both left each other hanging."

"I ..."

Alaine couldn’t help but eavesdrop on the next table’s conversation. Their topic sounded so interesting that she wondered what they were talking about and which person they were talking about.

Unfortunately, when her food arrived, the couple were done eating their food. So, she was unable to hear more.

What she didn’t know was that she had just missed a chance of getting some vital information on her enemy and she was doomed to never know.

What was not meant to be would never be!

She ate her food heartily and praised it inwardly. It was indeed worth it.

After having breakfast, she started roaming around the hotel, checking out the facilities while taking photos. After all, it was the first time that she was staying at the hotel. So, it fascinated her.

However, after checking everywhere, she still couldn’t find a single trace of Diamond. She couldn’t ask the staff as that would make them suspicious of her.

Hotels like these take it seriously when it comes to maintaining their guests’ privacy. And she didn’t want to lose her face.

So, despite the level of difficulty of searching by herself as if she was searching for a needle in a haystack, she wasn’t going to give up easily.

However, after doing that for the whole day, she finally gave up for the day and decided to take an early rest.

She had a meeting the next day and didn’t want to miss it simply because she was obsessed with Diamond at that moment.

She got into the elevator with several other people and couldn’t help but be envious as she looked at the private elevator that was used by VIPs. Those guests live in the presidential suites and pent-suites on the top floors.

She had to squeeze with others whilst those people moved freely. When would she be able to use that elevator?

She couldn’t help but wonder.

And just when she thought that life was already being unfair to her, since she wasn’t that rich to live the kind of luxurious life she wanted, her jaws suddenly dropped to the ground as the elevator doors closed.

Alaine felt as if she was dreaming as she looked at a familiar face, a familiar person entering the hotel lobby surrounded by two similar faces, laughing and making her face look very radiant.

Alaine couldn’t react at all, and by the time she did, the elevator was already a few floors up.

’It’s her! She is really staying here!’

That’s all she could think of as she took the stairs down to the lobby after getting off the elevator a while ago.
