SIGNING IN: BEING SHOWERED BY HEAVENLY BLESSINGS FOR FIVE YEARS -
Chapter 118 - 116
Chapter 118: Chapter 116
[You have received such a great offer. What more are you asking for? Nancy, if you delay, I am afraid that she might find someone else. Do you want to see that happening?]
Nancy listened patiently to her friend, who was blasting her ears on the other side of the phone.
Whenever she was scratched, it wasn’t easy for the other to stop. So instead of making her life harder by interrupting, Nancy simply listened and waited for her chance.
"Can I really trust her? I mean, she looked pretty young!" Nancy was still doubting Diamond, especially regarding her age.
[Who cares about ages? It is her crime that she is rich? Or do you only want to work for the oldies?]
"I .... Sigh .... Susan, it’s just confusing!" Nancy sighed as she said that.
[Nothing is confusing about any of this. Just accept the job and settle down. I will visit you in the future if you are afraid of being lonely. And if your boss is nice, I can move closer to you. This way you don’t have to be lonely if that’s what you are afraid of.]
Nancy sighed deeply upon hearing Susan’s words. "Fine, I will accept the job and observe her closely as time goes on. I really must not let this opportunity slip by."
[Now you are talking. Stop wasting time and make an appointment now!] Susan urged.
Nancy helplessly chuckled after hearing that. "I will hang up now and make an appointment. Wish me luck."
[Always dear.]
After that, Nancy hung up as she promised and looked at her phone. She took a deep breath first before scrolling through her phone book.
She shortly found Diamond’s number and nervously dialed.
The phone rang a couple of times before it was answered.
Seeing that the phone was answered, she respectfully greeted first as Diamond was the person who would hold her future in her hands if she were to accept the job.
"Hello, ma’am!"
[Hello, Nancy. Have you thought it through?] without wasting time, Diamond asked directly.
Nancy couldn’t help but faintly smile upon hearing how direct Diamond was.
Nevertheless, she still answered as she indeed didn’t want to waste time too. "Yes, I have thought about it. I will accept it."
[That’s perfect then. If you are free, come over to the hotel. We can sign the contract today and finish the rest when you are in Srad.]
Nancy smiled happily upon hearing that. "I will drop by in two hours. Will you be there?"
[Yes, I will be there. Just look for Betty when you arrive. She will escort you to the suite.]
"Thank you, ma’am. I will see you then."
[Hmm.]
Nancy was so excited even after the call had ended.
Afraid of keeping Diamond waiting, she quickly rushed to the bathroom, where she took another shower. After showering, she changed into a black knee-length skirt, a white blouse, and a pair of black wedges.
After dolling herself, she happily left the hotel, took a taxi, and headed towards Ace Hotel for her second meeting with her future boss.
Around the same time, in a certain luxurious apartment, Sullivan was on the phone as he blew some smoke rings in the sky.
"Are you sure that she won’t suspect a thing?" Sullivan asked doubtfully after hearing his brother’s plan.
[Van, that won’t be an issue. What you need to think about is how to work your magic and make sure that she gets interested in both of us. You wouldn’t want her to be interested in just one person, would you?]
Sullivan felt frustrated at the thought of being unable to get the woman that he wanted so badly.
"Brother, don’t even start. I will do every trick in the book to make her ours. I just don’t want her to hate us or me for tricking her. No sane girl would agree to our arrangement." Sullivan aired his worries as he said that.
[Then work the magic. I am not a good talker, so I can only leave this job to you.]
Sullivan sighed deeply after hearing his brother’s statement. He suddenly felt as if a heavy burden had been placed on his shoulder and he knew how serious it was.
Failure wasn’t allowed. He wanted the girl and wanted to remain close to his brother as well. He wasn’t allowed to be selfish and keep the girl to himself. After all, he would be the devil if he snatched the woman that Kian had fallen for after so many years of being celibate.
He didn’t want to be a sinner.
[Just call her later and make sure that you imprint yourself deeply in her heart. That way she won’t even think about other people instead of us.]
"I know. I will do that. She is just too popular!" Sullivan sighed helplessly when he thought of how Diamond had been trending ever since she appeared at that banquet.
[Which is why we should hit the iron whilst it’s hot.]
"I will do my best. Just leave it to me."
[You better.]
The two brothers spoke for a while before they hung up.
After ending the call with Kian, Sullivan’s heart was racing wildly. The girl that he wanted was in the same city as him and finally, he was going to see her.
He had been racking his brains for a solution and a way to see her without making her suspicious, but his genius brother found a way for him to do that.
"Brother, you have sacrificed so much and I won’t let your sacrifice go to waste!"
Sullivan felt guilty towards Kian. He felt that he was so selfish that he wouldn’t even let his brother’s woman go. But what else could he do?
He understood his heart perfectly. If he was still in his twenties, he would have thought that he lusted after her, or maybe he just wanted to compete with Kian for a girl.
But he was in his thirties and some of his peers were married with children. He had been in several relationships, so he wasn’t an amateur.
He knew perfectly how he felt about Diamond. It was love, and he wanted to be with her for the rest of his life, even if it meant sharing her with his brother.
At least they would be sharing if the plan goes well. They would get to keep her in the family rather than competing with other men there.
Diamond had become too popular, and netizens were speculating a lot about her online. There wasn’t much for them to find, and her mysteriousness was too attractive to others.
He didn’t want some wild men to get to her first and for that to happen; he needed to improvise, even if it meant becoming a villain.
As long as he made her theirs, who cared about the process?
So, without further ado, Sullivan scrolled through his contacts and found Diamond’s number that Kian had given to her earlier.
He was a bit nervous, but to get the girl, he could only go all out and be a man.
The phone started ringing, and it kept on ringing for a while before it was answered.
"Hello, is this Diamond?" he asked as soon as the call was answered.
[Hmm, it is I. Who is this?] Diamond asked.
Hearing her voice, Sullivan just wanted to capture the moment and revel in it for a while longer, but he knew what was important first.
"It’s Sullivan, Kian’s brother. He told you about me earlier," he explained since he didn’t want her to misunderstand his intentions.
[Oh! It’s you. I remember now. It’s nice hearing from you!]
Sullivan was a bit taken aback upon hearing how cheerful Diamond now sounded compared to before when she didn’t know that it was him.
He couldn’t help but get all warmed up that a smile blossomed on his face. He was very happy to hear that the thought of meeting him did not repulse her.
"I am glad that you remember. I wanted to consult with you if you have any plans tonight, tomorrow, or any day remaining while you are in Dielas?" Sullivan asked.
He was too greedy to see her. It was already late in the afternoon and yet instead of following his brother’s suggestion to see Diamond the next day; he wanted to meet with her and have dinner with her if possible.
[Uhm, tonight I have an appointment with someone. However, on Saturday, I am free. Sunday I will know when the day arrives.]
Sullivan was a bit upset upon hearing that she wouldn’t be available that night. He couldn’t help but be curious as to who she was meeting and whether that person was male or female.
"Then I guess we will meet tomorrow. What time should I pick you up? Or do you want us to meet somewhere?" he asked nervously.
Diamond didn’t answer instantly but went silent for a moment before she responded. [Sullivan, can you cook?]
