Chapter 104: Chapter 102

Life is unfair. That’s what the hairdresser who was in charge of plaiting Diamond was busy lamenting about as she continuously fought with the long hair that she had never dealt with before.

When she took over the client, she thought that the other was wearing a wig. And with how advanced wigs are nowadays, it wasn’t unusual for most women to look as if they really had long hair.

But when that messy bun was let loose, she still recalled how mesmerized everyone was in the saloon.

She couldn’t believe what she was seeing, however, she also felt good since she was the one who got the chance to work on such great hair.

To plait Diamond’s hair, despite being cornrow, a hairstyle that didn’t require too much time, Diamond was forced to sit for three hours until neatly styled lines of cornrow were on her head.

When the lady finally finished, she couldn’t help but admire herself greatly through the mirror.

And knowing how much her hairdresser had suffered, she paid thrice the original amount before she left.

Since she could afford it, she didn’t see any reason to not be generous. Besides, the hairdresser had done a great job to make her look pretty, so she was in a great mood.

After getting her hair done, Diamond was a bit hungry, so she visited another restaurant on the first floor where she ate her early lunch.

With her hair done and stomach filled, Diamond decided to take a drive and just see Frin without being rushed.

Testing the Pia sports car, she just received that day, Diamond began her fun.

As she drove the car along the highway, her phone started ringing and she had Andrea answer it for her.

When she answered, she was all smiles, as it was Kian who had called her.

Although the two were separated, they had been communicating, although it wasn’t daily.

So, every time she spoke with him, she was always happy.

Through the conversation, she got to know that Kian had returned to Iwarim, but he was planning to come and see her in Frin in a week or so if she was available.

Upon hearing that, Diamond revealed the fact that she would be in Dielas, the capital city, later that week.

After telling him that, Kian wished her all the best before they started talking about several other things.

Diamond drove to the outskirts of the city, where she parked her car at some rest stop since Kian was still on the line.

With nothing to do, Diamond plugged her pods in her ear and exited the car as she started walking around.

While walking around, she couldn’t help but look at the sky.

"Hey, Kian. Does it seem like it will rain any day soon?" Diamond asked Kian, as she was curious about the sky, who was on the other side.

[Umm, why do you ask?]

"It just looks that way to me," Diamond responded as she looked suspiciously at the sky with a few hazy clouds.

[Maybe it will rain. It’s that time of the season after all.]

"I hope so."

As a farmer or someone who was earning from that business, Diamond was still looking forward to the rain, though it was still playing games in the sky and refusing to fall.

She just hoped that it would fall not only for herself, but a lot of people’s lives were at stake as well.

The two changed the topic and started talking about something else. And while they were doing so, Diamond suddenly frowned as a certain lady she saw from a distance grabbed her attention.

Ever since her body was taken over by the divine art that kept on working 24/7 a day, her senses were improving greatly.

From her hearing, sight, taste, touch, and smell, everything was better than it was before.

Although the lady was several kilometers away from her since it was a straight road, she could tell that there was something wrong with her.

Her walking posture just didn’t seem right. From where she was standing, it seemed as if she was going to collapse at any second.

And when she was speculating about that, the lady suddenly stumbled and fell.

One second, she was walking, and the next second, she was gone. What the heck was happening?

"Kian, I need to go. Some lady just collapsed. I need to check on her," Diamond hurriedly told Kian and hung up before dashing towards the car.

Diamond quickly entered the car and started driving in the direction where she saw the old lady.

The car wasn’t called a sports car for no reason. Shortly, Diamond was already out of the car and rushing once again to the place where she saw the lady collapsing.

The lady didn’t collapse on the main road per se but along the small roads that people used to connect to the main road and other roads that usually lead to other roads or their villages.

Usually on the outskirts of the city, it wasn’t unusual to find a few villages. And around the place she was, there were a few of them. She had seen several thatched huts on her way earlier.

Diamond soon found the lady she had spotted earlier, and she was lying flat on the ground.

Scattered around her were tomatoes and vegetables that had turned yellow either from lack of nutrients, water, or even from being out for long.

The way the lady was dressed, Diamond could tell that life was not easy for her at all.

However, scrutinizing the woman wouldn’t be of any help at the moment, as making sure that she was fine was all that mattered at the moment.

So, without caring for her expensive clothes, Diamond kneeled on the dirty road and started turning the woman gently so that she was facing upwards.

When she finally saw the woman’s face, her heart started aching. Diamond used to be poor, but it wasn’t dirty poor, as she could still afford food, clothes, and rent.

She just didn’t have enough to live the lavish lifestyle that she wanted. Even her parents raised her and provided her with the basics. Even if she were to say they used to be poor, she was just comparing them to the rich.

However, when looking at the woman she held in her hands, her heart ached so bad, that her eyes started getting itchy and teary.

Her lips were parched. And her face looked so skinny that the facial bones were protruding. She was skin and bones and honestly Diamond didn’t know when it was the last time that the woman had eaten her full.

Diamond knew that sending the woman to the hospital would be the right idea, but with the heavenly things that were bestowed on her, she decided to use them for the right cause.

So, without further ado, Diamond willed for a bottle of spring water and a bottle of healing pills from her storage ring.

Both items were magical, and Diamond just wanted to save the woman. She didn’t know her at all, but since they had met, then it was karma.

And since she had everything that she had because of a good deed she did without expecting anything, she wanted to save a life.

Diamond opened the bottle, threw a pill inside, and began to feed the woman some water. It was a trifling job since the woman was unconscious at first, but once the water trickled inside her mouth; the woman started cooperating.

Diamond fed the woman some water for some time and she started awakening.

The woman’s eyelashes fluttered for a while as Diamond waited for her to wake up.

After waiting for a while, the woman finally opened her eyes, but instead of showing gratitude, she looked at her with wary and vigilance.

Diamond didn’t get upset upon receiving such a response, even after she saved the other. Instead, she smiled softly at the woman as she said, "You are fine now. I saw you collapsed here and thought of lending a hand. Are you feeling much better?"

The woman didn’t answer but started looking around as if she wanted to confirm something.

Her gaze fixated on the scattered vegetables on the ground before she looked back at Diamond.

"Th.... Thank you. I .... I hope that I didn’t ..... did I waste your time. I am very sorry ... so sorry if I did that," the woman said with a stammer as she looked at Diamond apologetically.

"Don’t worry. There was nothing important that I was doing and saving a life is of priority more than anything else," with a gentle smile on her face Diamond sincerely said.

The woman seemed to have been so touched by Diamond’s words that she began to loosen up, making her tense body relax more.

Seeing that, Diamond was relieved as she honestly didn’t want the woman to look at her as if she was an enemy when she was not.

"What’s your name? I am Diamond," Diamond introduced herself to the woman, hoping that the other would share her name as well.

"I... I am ... you can call me Ma Terry," the woman responded.

She was a mother. No wonder why she was in that state.
