SIGNING IN: BEING SHOWERED BY HEAVENLY BLESSINGS FOR FIVE YEARS -
Chapter 101 - 99
Chapter 101: Chapter 99
Life is simply so funny and unpredictable. Who would have thought that a shopping trip would lead to such a meeting?
Sitting inside a café an hour later, Diamond was looking at Clarissa, who was busy yapping excitedly as she talked about Summit University, the chosen institution that Ruby would be attending once the new year started.
Ruby was also listening attentively since she was curious to know more about the school she would be attending. Since there was no one that she knew there, she was eager to listen and learn more.
"You don’t have to worry, big sis. I will definitely look after Ruby for you," Clarissa promised, as she looked at Diamond affectionately.
Talking about calling Diamond’s sister was something that shocked even Ruby herself. It was something that happened when they were still in the shop when Diamond revealed how Ruby would be studying at Summit University.
Since Diamond revealed that, she also went forward to reveal how she was twenty-five years old and not a student.
Ruby could still remember how shocked Clarissa was upon hearing that, but she enjoyed watching that. She shouldn’t be the only one getting shocked every single time she sees her sister every day.
In the end, since Diamond was older, Clarissa insisted on calling Diamond her big sister, and Diamond acquiesced since Clarissa was determined to do that.
That’s how they ended up in that state moments later. The three of them had gotten closer in such a short time and, honestly, Ruby was finding Clarissa very pleasing to the eyes the more she talked to her.
Clarissa wasn’t like the other misses she had seen before, who were pompous and acted as if the world owed them everything.
She was very easy to talk to and just lovely in person.
Even her sister, who had somehow turned into an introvert in the past few years, seemed to be smiling and talking more. Since Diamond was at ease with Clarissa, Ruby couldn’t dislike the other.
"Then I will leave her in your hands. But won’t you be studying in separate faculties? Ruby will be majoring in Business Administration," Diamond asked as she looked at Clarissa.
Upon hearing that, Clarissa facepalmed as she chuckled softly. "Damn! Hehe, we indeed won’t be majoring in the same course. But don’t worry, I still have a few sisters and brothers that can help her out when I am not there."
"Oh! That’s fine with me then." Diamond was relieved to hear that. "I don’t know how to thank you enough."
"Hehe, no worries. Just consider this as me trying to get to know more of you. I really like you!" with sparkling eyes, Clarissa boldly told Diamond.
Diamond, who was starting to get used to Clarissa’s ways, simply smiled sincerely at the other. She was touched by what the other was doing. She had never met such a person before.
"And I like you too. So where do you stay? This way, we can visit each other or meet up if we have time."
"I live in Garden View villa complex. Do you know it?" Clarissa answered as she looked eagerly at Diamond, not sparing a single glance at Ruby.
When Diamond heard that, her eyes couldn’t help but light up. Wasn’t that the same place where she recently purchased a villa?
"I know that place. It’s quite good," Diamond answered truthfully.
"That’s good then. And what about you guys?" Clarissa asked curiously as she looked at Ruby before switching back to Diamond.
Ruby looked at Diamond, wondering if her sister would tell the truth about where they stayed.
"Cherry Court, we stay there," Diamond honestly answered once again.
In her eyes, there was no need to keep her house a secret. There was nothing special about the neighborhood. So, what if her house was a bit expensive?
If she were to go to another city, the worth of her villa might be low when compared to others.
When Clarissa heard the area that Diamond mentioned, she looked at the two with horror, astonishment, and shock.
"You..... you guys stay that side?"
Ruby, seeing Clarissa’s shock, couldn’t help but be speechless. Wasn’t her reaction a bit exaggerated?
"Umm, we stay there," Ruby responded instead since Diamond was keeping mum as she tried to stifle her laughter.
"You guys ..... you are really crouching tigers. I applaud you!" Clarissa sighed deeply as she tried to calm herself after hearing such shocking news.
"Is it that shocking?" Ruby asked curiously as she looked at Clarissa and Diamond, trying to understand what was going on.
Clarissa was baffled seeing Ruby’s confused state. Just what kind of second-generation kids were these two that they would calmly talk about Cherry Court as if they were talking about some villa complex that any Tom or Dick could freely live in?
"You will have to ask your parents about that. You will be surprised to hear just how special that place is." Clarissa decided to push the ball back to them.
She had already been shocked enough and if she were to continue talking about Cherry Court; she was afraid that she would have insomnia that night and she loved her sleep very much.
Diamond looked at Ruby with a reassuring smile that answered all of her questions.
"Sure, I will do that when we get back home."
After saying that, Clarissa swiftly changed the topic, something that the sisters didn’t stop, as they were interested in talking about other things as well.
At some point, the three finally decided to call it a night. They exchanged contact details and went together to the underground parking where their cars were.
When Clarissa saw Diamond and Ruby entering the Arcadelle, she began to massage her aching temples.
’I think I have seen enough for the day,’ she mused as she walked towards her coupe.
Several bags were obtained after shopping, so the sisters were in a good mood and sang along to the songs being played on the radio on their way back home.
A lot had happened during the day, and what Diamond loved about the whole outing was how she met Clarissa and made a new friend.
Although she wasn’t sure yet whether their friendship would last, just being able to make a friend was an achievement.
She didn’t want to be lonely anymore. Even Ruby had several friends of her own, and she didn’t want to be left behind.
When they arrived home, Aunt Janet helped them with the bags before she returned downstairs to start serving dinner.
On the top floor, Diamond sighed as she looked at the numerous bags that needed to be sorted out.
’Let’s do this later, after supper, or maybe tomorrow.’
Diamond was feeling lazy and felt like not moving at all.
And since the bags wouldn’t go anywhere, she wasn’t in any hurry as well.
She left the bags in the closet before walking to the bathroom, where she washed her face.
After doing that, she then went downstairs, where she found Aunt Janet already done serving the plates.
Moments later, Ruby joined them and the three started having their dinner as they reminisced about the wonderful day that they had.
The outing was a success, and that was something that Diamond was very happy about.
After supper, Ruby quickly bid goodnight to Diamond. Diamond could only watch helplessly as Ruby disappeared upstairs.
Since they had purchased a lot of stuff, Diamond knew that Ruby was eager to go and check everything out before going to bed.
And since Ruby was gone, Diamond didn’t linger much downstairs and returned to her bedroom.
Diamond took a shower first after entering and wore some pajamas before throwing herself onto the bed.
She wasn’t feeling sleepy, so she decided to play with her tablet for a while.
"Andrea!" she suddenly called as she swiped the tablet screen.
[Mother!] Andrea responded.
When Diamond heard that, she couldn’t help but shiver, obviously taken aback by what Andrea had just said.
[Is there anything that you want me to do?] Andrea asked upon seeing that Diamond hadn’t answered back.
When she heard that question, it suddenly dawned on her that she was the one that started the mother and son joke and now Andrea was really stuck on it.
’How could I have forgotten about this very quickly?’ she admonished herself upon realizing that.
She was a bad mother. She was the one who suggested that in the first place and nearly forgot about the whole thing again.
What if Andrea gets upset over that and rebels?
Anyway, she shouldn’t think negatively and approach things positively, otherwise she would be the one getting stressed at the end of the day.
"Umm, did you get anything on Kian and his family?" she asked as soon as she sorted her thoughts.
[It’s almost done. Should I send what I have now or you will wait for everything?]
"Hmm, give me when you are done. I can still wait. What about the other things I instructed you to do? Are they coming out well?" she asked curiously, wanting to know how much progress Andrea had made.
