SIGNING IN: BEING SHOWERED BY HEAVENLY BLESSINGS FOR FIVE YEARS -
Chapter 100 - 98
Chapter 100: Chapter 98
Diamond had been to a Bormuga shop before, so she knew how much those people loved overpricing their clothes. If it wasn’t for the fact that they knew how to make nice clothes, she wouldn’t have bothered to enter the shop and shocked her sister that much.
However, that was something that she was planning to do. She needed Ruby to get used to that, as she didn’t want her to be fooled by a scheming man when she went to school.
As she didn’t have a lot of money back, then and was desperate to earn it big without working hard, Diamond suffered so much in a relationship that only brought her pain and humiliation in the end.
For the sake of a branded handbag, a fancy meal, and an expensive phone, Diamond went through a lot.
She didn’t want Ruby to follow in her previous footsteps. If she were to be used to spending money like that, then even if a young man approached her for the wrong reasons, she wouldn’t be fooled.
Several young girls were getting fooled for a meal and getting their lives destroyed because of that.
Only having one person in the family experiencing that was enough. She was going to raise Ruby well and do her best. But if Ruby decided to go on the wrong path herself, that wouldn’t be her fault.
She was a grown-up, and old enough to face any dire consequences of her actions.
Diamond began to pick several sets of clothes for Ruby since she already purchased several the last time.
As she stood in an aisle filled with dresses, she was busy pondering what type of dress she could pick for Ruby. She already purchased several before and she didn’t want any more dresses.
She barely wore them, so she didn’t want to fill her closet and then empty it next time without wearing the clothes. That was being wasteful, and she didn’t want to waste anything.
"Sister, what are you looking for?" Ruby asked curiously after seeing the conflicted expression on Diamond’s face.
"Which one do you prefer? The asymmetrical or halter dress?" Diamond asked Ruby without looking at her but at the two dresses that were right in front of her.
"Oh! I think that both of them are nice!" Ruby honestly responded as she looked at the overpriced dresses.
In her mind, she simply thought that her sister wanted to buy something for herself again.
And since each dress was priced at around sixty thousand dollars, she didn’t think that there was a way her sister would buy her something that expensive.
"That’s it. They are both indeed nice. Let’s get these two!" Diamond exclaimed happily upon hearing that.
Why choose one when you can just get everything?
In the end, Ruby watched helplessly as her sister paid another ridiculous bill that made her heartache. However, another shocking thing occurred when Diamond was paying.
"Oh! Ms. Perry, it seems that you are a VIP client of ours. You will get ....."
Everything that happened after, Ruby couldn’t recall. All she knew was that she woke up when she was in another foreign brand shop where Diamond was busy looking at handbags.
’Just what happened?’
Inside the bag shop, Diamond was in the middle of a wonderful conversation with some young woman who was busy looking at bags in the same section as hers.
"You must know your bags?" the other woman asked smilingly as she looked at Diamond.
Diamond shook her head lightly as she maintained a smile on her face.
"Not really. I just buy a bag that I find pleasing to the eyes. As long as it does the work that I want, then I go for it," Diamond answered sincerely.
A sense of fashion. She didn’t have that. What she had, however, was her intuition. As long as she likes something, she goes for it. That’s how she had been filling her closet.
"You are very different and I like you!" the young woman beamed as she said that.
Diamond couldn’t help but give another look at the young bright woman talking to her. She was very pretty, looked very young, and, above all, approachable.
Seeing her, Diamond couldn’t help but wonder what it would be like if she made friends with her.
She was lacking in friends after all and befriending the other didn’t seem to be a bad thing.
"Hehe, I am starting to like you too!" Diamond beamed at the young woman after concluding.
Upon hearing that, the young woman clapped her hands happily as she looked at Diamond with sparkling eyes.
"I am Clarissa, by the way. What is your name?" Clarissa introduced herself.
Diamond heaved a sigh of relief seeing that Clarissa was the first to make a move. Everything would start from there, and that’s how they would be able to proceed to the next stage.
"I am Diamond, and that’s my little sister, Ruby, standing in a daze over there!" Diamond introduced herself and didn’t forget her little sister, who was standing some distance from her as she was indeed in a stupor.
When Clarissa heard the last part, she couldn’t help but exclaim in surprise as she looked to the side where Diamond had looked earlier.
She then saw another pretty young girl who had looked familiar with Diamond. And with a glance, it was visible that the two were sisters.
What surprised her was how those two looked so pretty and stood out among the crowd.
At first, she didn’t think that those two were related since she had entered the shop after them, and she didn’t see them together.
Clarissa loved pretty things, so she was attracted to Diamond more when she entered the shop and decided to strike up a conversation.
So, knowing that the second option she set aside since the other was in a daze was Diamond’s sister, she felt as if she had gotten a bargain.
"You guys are both pretty!" Clarissa sincerely praised as she looked back to Diamond.
Diamond’s lips rose upon hearing that.
If there was something that Diamond loved the most in the past few months was getting complimented.
She had spent so many years hiding beneath a mask and after getting cured, she was finally free.
Being able to flaunt her beauty and enjoy herself out there was the best for her. And it was even sweeter when people praised and complimented her.
She really enjoyed it the most and for those that complimented her, especially in a sincere way, she liked them the best.
So, when Clarissa complimented both Diamond and Ruby, Diamond’s feelings for Clarissa increased.
"You are also pretty. Your parents must be proud!"
Which parents didn’t love pretty daughters?
"Hehe, they don’t stop bragging about it!" Clarissa didn’t hesitate to respond.
She was a straightforward person who hated beating around the bush, which was why she directly said that.
If other people heard that response, they would think that Clarissa was acting shamelessly or boasting, but Diamond didn’t think so.
She loved direct people recently, as they weren’t as pretentious as those people who loved fawning over the strong and rich.
"Hmm, I am happy to know that."
"So, Diamond, what are you doing now? Are you still in school? I will be doing my senior year next year," Clarissa asked curiously as she looked at Diamond with eager eyes.
Upon hearing that, Ruby, who had completely shaken herself from the daze, was baffled.
Did it really look like her sister was still a student in other people’s eyes, too? It seemed that her eyes were indeed working, and it wasn’t her bias towards her sister that made her think like that before.
"Hehe," Diamond couldn’t help but chuckle softly upon hearing Clarissa’s questions.
She last went to school over three years ago and there was no way that she would be going back there. And it didn’t matter how lucrative and wonderful studies might become.
She would rather become a salted fish or a housewife than study again. Just thinking about studying made her feel sick.
"Am I wrong?" Clarissa puzzledly asked as she tilted her head to the other side.
"Hmm, you are not quite there, but I will ask you something first before I answer you. Are you okay with that?" Diamond wanted to know more about Clarissa first, before revealing her own information. She asked.
Clarissa was a bit confused at first upon hearing that but on second thoughts she nodded in agreement.
"Great then. Which university are you attending? Is it in Frin or another city or country?" Diamond asked curiously.
"Oh! Do you mean that? I am studying at Summit University. It’s here in Frin," Clarissa enthusiastically responded upon hearing Diamond’s question.
When Diamond heard that, she couldn’t help but look at Ruby, who was now standing beside her with a stunned expression.
"Ruby, did you hear that? She will be your senior!" Diamond directed her words to Ruby instead of Clarissa, whom she was talking to.
When Clarissa heard that, her gaze shifted from Diamond to Ruby, who had approached the two of them silently without notice and asked in astonishment.
"She is also studying there?"
