She Asks for a Divorce Again
Chapter 330: Deception

Chapter 330: Chapter 330: Deception

She still remembered that night when she and Pei Yansi got their marriage certificate and she was brought to the Pei Mansion. In the pitch-black bridal room, Pei Yansi didn’t allow her to turn on the light.

At that time, Shen Heyu was not as composed as she was now; she was just a twenty-three or twenty-four-year-old college girl, severely lacking social experience. In the dark environment, all her senses were heightened, including the fear in her heart.

She was still wearing her pristine white wedding dress, thrown onto the cold floor. Sitting there, looking at Pei Yansi’s silhouette, she trembled and said, "Her death really has nothing to do with me. She was my own sister, how could I possibly do such a thing to her..."

"You believe me, it really wasn’t me..."

But the man just coldly sat there, his back toward her, staring out the night through the floor-to-ceiling window.

Even his silhouette seemed detached and lonely.

Seeing that he kept not answering, Shen Heyu eventually started to cry in fear.

It was not just fear at that time; there was also the grief for Shen Fanshuang’s death.

Who knows how long it had been; her voice was hoarse from crying. Perhaps Pei Yansi grew impatient. He finally stood up from his chair and turned around, looking at her coldly and said, "Stop crying."

Maybe the man’s voice was too oppressive. The shadow cast by him standing there imposed so much pressure on Shen Heyu; upon hearing his words, within two seconds, she really did stop crying.

She timidly raised her head, her eyes red, and stared at Pei Yansi. "I won’t cry anymore, but you must believe that I really have nothing to do with this..."

Following her words, Pei Yansi sneered. With his usual indifferent expression, he faced her, his voice colder than ever, "Oh really?"

When Shen Heyu heard this, thinking her innocence might be believed, she nodded.

Who knew? The very next second, Pei Yansi strode toward her, seized Shen Heyu’s chin in his grasp, his expression cracked slightly, "Nice words indeed, but the evidence is conclusive. Someone even produced a recording of your conversation. What do you have to say now?"

Heyu was stunned.

"What recording?"

"Still pretending?" Pei Yansi’s smile was sarcastic and cold. He suddenly let go of Shen Heyu and stepped back, looking down at her and said, "You don’t want to admit it, no problem, I don’t want to argue about these trivial past matters."

"However, you should know this matter is not over. Since you really love me, from now on, you shall be my wife, Mrs. Pei Yansi, and live in this mansion. Without my permission, you’re not allowed to leave."

He wanted her to always be by his side, in name but not in reality, a marriage devoid of essence. Unknown as Mrs. Pei to others, nor would she receive his love. Yet she lost her emotional freedom forever.

Trapped in the mansion, facing the torment of Shen Fanshuang’s death every day.

Every time she mentioned wanting a divorce, he would coldly tell her, "Didn’t you say you loved me? Now I’m giving you the chance to be by my side, even gave you the status of Mrs. Pei, and yet you want to divorce?"

"I tell you, it’s impossible. I want you to remain in this position as my wife until death. I won’t love you, nor will anyone else. Just like this for a lifetime, until you die."

And all of this was because of Shen Fanshuang.

Even now, she still didn’t know what the evidence Pei Yansi mentioned at the beginning actually was. He had concluded that she was the one who harmed Shen Fanshuang and he was too lazy to argue with her, so he never explained.

Looking back now, it was probably all caused by Shen Fanshuang.

"What are you thinking about?" Lu Yunlan spoke, pulling her thoughts back.

She raised her head, looked at her somewhat dazedly, and said, "Nothing, I should go."

She glanced at the sky, and it was indeed getting late, just about lunchtime. Lu Yunlan said, "Shall we have lunch together?"

Shen Heyu shook her head and declined, "Chen Wenzhou is waiting for you; you should keep him company. I can tell you still have feelings for him. If that’s the case, you must cherish those feelings."

There was absolutely no need to bring herself along, intentionally getting in the middle of them, hindering the progression of Chen Wenzhou’s feelings for her.

After politely refusing Lu Yunlan, Shen Heyu picked up the monitor and left.

Leaving Lu’s Villa took an hour and a half. Pei Yansi’s car was still parked in the same spot, waiting for her.

He rolled the car window down halfway, just enough to reveal his handsome face.

He seemed to sense something, glanced sideways at Shen Heyu as she approached, then opened the door, stepped out, and walked up to her, "What took you so long?"

He sized up Shen Heyu from head to toe, pondered something, and asked, "Did you see Lu Yi?"

Was Lu Yi at home, and did she delay because they were catching up?

Shen Heyu just glanced at him, knowing what he was thinking, and retorted with a glare, "Can you not think of such disgusting things."

Pei Yansi frowned at her accusation. He didn’t respond, not really caring about it; his concerns lay elsewhere. He continued to press, "Such a strong reaction, was he really at home? What did you guys talk about?"

"Don’t you think you’re being unreasonable?"

Shen Heyu didn’t even want to engage with him, walked past him, headed straight to the car, and sat in the back seat.

Pei Yansi pursed his lips, from Shen Heyu’s words he could sense her dislike and impatience towards him. She was usually extremely patient, but not so with him.

He also feared pushing her too hard, that it might further alienate Shen Heyu, who had just started to ease up with him, so he forcibly suppressed the jealousy in his heart.

Thinking of punishing her later that evening.

He got into the car with Shen Heyu and saw the tape in her hand, "Did you discover anything?"

Shen Heyu turned towards him, her eyes cold and frosty as she looked at him.

Pei Yansi had never seen her look at him with such eyes.

He didn’t speak for a moment.

"Did you know all along what kind of person Shen Fanshuang was?"

"Didn’t you already ask me that?"

"Then let me rephrase it, did you know from the start that the incident where I was framed as a murderer was personally orchestrated by Shen Fanshuang?"

Pei Yansi didn’t answer, but the light in his eyes faded further.

With that expression, what didn’t Shen Heyu understand? She scoffed coldly, "I’ve always said I was innocent. You believed it later and started investigating for me. But when you found out it was Shen Fanshuang who framed me, you chose to hide it."

"You even knew what kind of person Shen Fanshuang was, yet you chose to use Shen Jiangli to inform me about this, which might have been excusable. But how will you explain hiding it this time?"

Pei Yansi quietly watched her face, her features etched with cool disdain.

She was genuinely angry, even harboring some resentment in her eyes.
