Chapter 326: Informing
Chapter 326: Chapter 326: Informing
"I know," Lu Yi felt his voice was faint, as if drifting from afar, yet distinctly close at hand. He said, "What you want to know, you already know."
Shen Heyu was stunned.
She had not expected him to admit it directly, about the matter concerning Shen Fanshuang.
And she had not yet mentioned a word.
"I thought you would still lie to me."
"There’s no need, is there?"
"Having reached this point today, there indeed is no need."
"So, your visit this time, in fact, is meaningless."
Shen Heyu gazed deeply at his back. Perhaps because they were not facing each other and she couldn’t see his expression, she felt that this mode of communication was hindered. Shen Jiangli, as if sensing something, suddenly turned around on the hospital bed and looked at Shen Heyu.
His gaze was unprecedentedly deep and icy, carrying a profound sense of defeat and despair.
"Your sister was indeed, accidentally killed by my man."
Before he said this, his throat seemed to roll for a long time, as if he was straining against struggle and restraint. But in the end, he chose honesty, "I know you will hate me, but things have progressed to this state, and there’s no way for me to rectify it."
"I know it was you," Shen Heyu said, "I just wanted a reason."
"You and my sister never knew each other, why?"
In other words, she really didn’t know what exactly had happened on the day her sister had the accident. Knowing that it was Shen Jiangli’s men who had intervened, she also wanted to know the whole story.
So she wouldn’t have been wrongfully blamed all these years as the murderer of her sister.
Shen Jiangli said, "The day she had the accident, I had just returned to the country, I wanted to find you in the bar, my men had asked me to join a gathering, and I went. But when I arrived, they were having an argument."
He said this and suddenly closed his eyes, taking in a long breath as if enduring something. After a long while, he opened his eyes again; his eyes regained their usual clarity and indifference. From a few steps away, he looked at Shen Heyu’s eyes, tinged with a bit of guilt, and said,
"Then you know the rest. I recognized her as your sister because she mentioned you before dying."
"I originally wanted to return to the country to find you, but such a big incident happened immediately. The person who hurt Shen Fanshuang was close to me, and I didn’t want this issue to stand between us, becoming a huge gulf that prevented me from reaching you."
Hearing this, Shen Heyu had already faintly understood something. She let out an incredulous, cold laugh, her eyes full of disdain towards him,
"So, in order to be by my side openly, and not be resented by me, you suppressed this matter."
Shen Jiangli subconsciously lowered his head, silent, but this action was undoubtedly a tacit acknowledgment.
Shen Heyu let out another cold laugh, "Don’t you know that such behavior makes me hate you even more?"
"I’ve hidden this for so many years, and actually, I’m very tired too. I know you hate me, but the situation has developed to this point and can no longer be changed. I just hope that you can be happy in the future, not dwelling on these past events anymore, okay?"
If he weren’t exhausted inside, he wouldn’t use this incident to truly sever his ties with Shen Group.
Having arrived at the madhouse, he was alone to nurture a calm mind.
He had stood by Shen Heyu’s side for six years and had done all he could; now that he was gone, he hoped she would still be safe and healthy.
For some reason, Shen Heyu was supposed to hate him, despise him, but hearing his words, she felt a sudden sense of helplessness.
Perhaps it was because, over those six years, he had played such an important role in her life; abroad, he would come to her side whenever he had free time.
"Take good care of yourself."
Perhaps feeling that staying any longer would only stiffen the already rigid atmosphere, Shen Heyu stood up, planning to leave, not wanting to waste more time here. She had just risen, not even managing to reach for the door handle, when she heard the man behind her speak again:
"I know what I did was wrong, but Shen Fanshuang is not innocent either."
His tone suddenly turned colder and harsher, starkly contrasting with his earlier manner. Shen Heyu’s face shook, she turned around, stared at him intently, and demanded, "What do you mean by that?"
"You only ask me why I would do such a thing but never why they were arguing."
Hearing this, Shen Heyu merely frowned, sensing for the first time that something was off.
She and Shen Fanshuang had grown up together, and no one knew her sister’s nature better than she did. Her memories of Shen Fanshuang were always of a gentle and kind nature, rarely conflicting with others, let alone causing disputes.
She had always thought of herself as aloof, rarely interacting with the outside world, and thus seldom in conflicts, but Shen Fanshuang was even more restrained than she was.
How could such a person get into conflicts with others?
Seeing her interest, Shen Jiangli continued: "Because she seduced my friend back in school. With the identity and wealth of over a billion, she got money from him and then harshly dumped him; only later did I learn that she had attached herself to Pei Yansi."
Shen Heyu frowned intensely, "I don’t know what nonsense you’re spouting. My sister has never had any men around her, and I’ve certainly never seen anyone with her."
"Exactly because you’ve never seen it, does this talk hold more truth," Shen Jiangli looked at her and suddenly smirked sinisterly, adding meaningfully, "Otherwise, think about it. You are her sister, who would depend on her, your impressions of her must be very positive."
"Could it be that she deliberately disguised herself? Think about it, in all those years you lived with her, was there ever any flaw?"
Shen Heyu’s thoughts drifted along with his words; it seemed he was right, in all their time together, she had never noticed any faults in her sister.
Because of this, she would often praise Shen Fanshuang as perfect.
But now, it seemed things were not as she had thought.
Shen Fanshuang had intentionally deceived her.
Shen Jiangli continued, "My friend couldn’t stand it, and unexpectedly ran into her again here, this time not with Pei Yansi but another man. My friend couldn’t hold back and hit her."
"What do you think happened next?"
Shen Jiangli stopped at this point, touched his chin and looking at her teasingly: "The man who was being chastised came out and started fighting with the people here. At a crucial moment, he pushed Shen Fanshuang forward to block the harm. So the blow from someone’s stick directly hit her on the back of her neck."
From his implication, not only did Shen Fanshuang betray his friend, but she also had various other men outside.
This was completely contrary to the sister Shen Heyu remembered, leaving her somewhat dumbfounded.
