Chapter 315 Out of Control

Chapter 315: Chapter 315 Out of Control

"You were the one who said you’d agree to anything except this," Shen Jiangli looked at her earnestly and said, "Now why do you refuse what I’m asking for?"

"Don’t twist my words."

Shen Heyu looked into his icy eyes; she felt dizzy and scared. They were on the rooftop, an extremely high place, and she was worried that once he lost control, something irreversible could happen.

After all, she had always known that Shen Jiangli had mental issues.

Like last time in his office, when he dealt with the supporting actress, he accidentally lost control, causing Shen Heyu to hit her head on his office coffee table, leading to amnesia.

Shen Heyu desperately tried to shake off his hand, wanting to escape from that place.

However, the man didn’t move at all, his grip was strong, giving her no chance to break free.

Not only that, but he also kept pressing closer to Shen Heyu. As his imposing figure approached, she reflexively stepped back, soon finding herself with no way out.

Her back was already against the railing of the rooftop.

She turned back in horror and saw the high-rise buildings below, where vehicles and people formed tiny dots, bustling about on the streets below. The dizzying height made her head spin momentarily.

When she spoke, her voice trembled, "Calm down, let me go! This isn’t going to end well,"

Shen Jiangli ignored her plea, as if he couldn’t see her desperate state, her waist pressed against the railing, at risk of falling at any moment.

His eyes suddenly turned a sickly crimson, unsettlingly abnormal, fixating on Shen Heyu with a bloodthirsty smile, "You clearly know how I feel about you, and yet you refuse to accept it. I can’t help myself. I want you by my side, which led me to these mistakes."

"I know I’ve made a mistake, and I’ve been apologizing to you. You don’t accept them; that’s your choice. But why insist on cutting ties with me completely, insisting on a clean break? Why?"

He continued moving forward, and Shen Heyu didn’t dare step back further. She was terrified that the railing might give way, dooming her forever.

Fortunately, this was Pei Yansi’s property. Even though the Pei Building’s rarely visited rooftop was still regularly cleaned and the railings inspected by someone.

The railing was still sturdy for now.

But the man was already crushing her with his weight. She wasn’t sure how long she could endure.

She pushed against him desperately, "Calm down, no matter what you say, I’ll agree to it first, okay? Be a good boy, let me go first..."

At that moment, staring into his crimson eyes, her body trembled in fear.

The snow was still falling, the cold wind whistling. It blew through her open clothes, making her shiver violently.

Shen Jiangli noticed her condition and merely thought she was scared. His voice was hoarse as he said, "So, will you come with me? You promised you’d help me by speaking to Pei Yansi on my behalf, and you would agree to everything else,"

"I agree!"

Shen Heyu could already hear the railing beginning to creak ominously. It might break if pressure continued.

She couldn’t afford the luxury of further thought. She just wanted to agree to Shen Jiangli’s demands to stabilize his emotions, to prevent him from doing something outrageous.

Shen Jiangli watched her quietly for a long time. The crimson in his eyes did not fade as he pondered the truthfulness in her words.

Shen Heyu felt as if Death itself held her fate by the throat as he stared at her, her heart inching upward in fear, utterly overwhelmed.

She tried her best to appear calm, not letting him see through the lies she was concealing.

Yet, Shen Jiangli noticed.

His mental state was unstable, which made him extremely sensitive to everything and everyone.

After realizing this, he coldly chuckled and said, "Heyu, are you lying to me? Do you think you can seek refuge with Pei Yansi after I let you go?"

"I didn’t..."

Shen Heyu started to explain, but he pushed her against the railing, pinning her down, both bodies pressing hard against the barrier.

The railing creaked, already beginning to shake.

Before she could finish her words, Shen Jiangli suddenly reached out and grabbed her throat, his voice grinding through clenched teeth, "You’re lying. You just want to leave me, taking the opportunity to seek Pei Yansi’s protection!"

Otherwise, why couldn’t he find her anywhere after returning from Jiang City for so many days?

Even when they last met in the restaurant, she didn’t even glance at him, didn’t speak to him, didn’t respond.

She had always been by Pei Yansi’s side.

Today, he finally realized she was seeking Pei Yansi’s protection, thinking she would be untouchable as long as she stayed by his side.

Pei Yansi had targeted his company, and she must have known it all along, yet she watched from the shadows without offering help.

The more Shen Jiangli thought about it, the angrier he became, and now he had already cast aside the female character he actually loved deeply. Staring at Shen Heyu, he said word by word:

"How have I treated you over these six years, and how have you treated me? You know better than anyone. Even if I really made a mistake, you didn’t have to drive me to this dead end. Do you know what you’ll be facing by allowing Pei Yansi to do this?"

His company couldn’t establish itself domestically, and he’d have to go back. His rigid father would undoubtedly not stop berating him.

He was afraid of being scolded.

For years, he’d lived under his father’s suppression, which had driven him to mental instability, though he had hidden it well.

Few people knew about it, except those close to him.

Shen Heyu’s breath was constricted by his chokehold, her beautiful face turning red, her neck swelling as she gasped for air and struggled to say, "No, I’m not lying to you, really... everything I’ve said is true, I want to stay by your side..."

As she spoke, she suddenly saw from the direction of the staircase, Pei Yansi’s figure dashing towards them like lightning.

Almost in the blink of an eye, Pei Yansi had a dagger pressed against the back of Shen Jiangli’s head. He said coldly, "Let her go, or don’t blame me for being ruthless. You should know this is my turf, and dealing with you could be very easy."

Shen Jiangli felt the icy, sharp object against the back of his head, and being acquainted with the streets, he knew exactly what it was.

Yet, he still didn’t release Shen Heyu, instead snarling:

"If you dare to make a move, I dare to push her down. I can’t establish myself in the country anymore anyway. We might as well all go down together!"

His words were pathological, having lost all reason, falling into the deepest madness.
