She Asks for a Divorce Again
Chapter 296: Anger

Chapter 296: Chapter 296: Anger

"That should have been my line."

Pei Yansi watched her with cold eyes.

The light inside the car was very dim, Zhao Jin hadn’t started the car yet; he was crouching by the roadside smoking, and in the pitch-black night, only the bright burning of his cigarette at his fingertips could be seen.

Shen Heyu stared at the glowing ember and didn’t speak. She could feel the anger radiating from the man next to her and dared not say much, fearing she might provoke him further.

In the end, she would be the one to suffer.

So she kept her mouth shut, and Pei Yansi didn’t speak either, just quietly looking at her. For a moment, the car was enveloped in an eerie silence.

Shen Heyu could feel his intense gaze constantly on her, never shifting. His stare made her extremely uncomfortable, like pins and needles on her back.

"What’s wrong, still thinking about someone else?" Pei Yansi said, glancing at her sideways, his expression indifferent, unclear in the night.

A chill seemed to emanate all around him.

She just didn’t want to talk to him, fearing it might anger him, but in his eyes, it seemed like she was thinking about someone else.

Shen Heyu thought he was being completely unreasonable. She looked at him sideways, remaining silent.

Suddenly, Pei Yansi leaned in closer, reducing the distance between them.

Shen Heyu’s heart skipped a beat involuntarily.

He embraced her, his strong arms encircling her waist. They were very close, his warm breath fanning over Shen Heyu’s face, burning hot and slightly ticklish.

She felt so uncomfortable that she wanted to turn her head away, but Pei Yansi was quicker and grasped her chin, not letting her escape. Then he touched her lips. "Tomorrow, I’ll arrange a meeting between Lu Yi and Chen Lingmeng. You’re coming with me."

Shen Heyu frowned, retorting, "I’m not going. Moreover, since when do you get to decide on Lu Yi’s marriage?"

Pei Yansi scoffed, looking deeply into her eyes, "What do you think? Or are you feeling sorry for him?"

Shen Heyu felt his words were increasingly outrageous, without limits.

She didn’t bother responding, forcibly turned her head away, freeing herself from the clutch of his fingers, not wanting to look at him, even for an extra second, as it seemed to make her entire body uncomfortable.

Pei Yansi, watching her reaction, was very dissatisfied, his anger stacking up, almost burning his chest.

He looked at her, suddenly somewhat confused and even realizing another issue. She used to have feelings for him, but in recent years, she had been extremely indifferent toward him.

He had always thought, had she changed her heart? Now, seeing her reaction to Lu Yi, a ridiculous thought crossed his mind—could she have fallen for Lu Yi?

Thinking this, Pei Yansi became uncontrollable. Doubts formed in his mind, and his possessiveness towards Shen Heyu intensified.

He forcibly repressed the anger inside him, deciding not to pursue the matter with her for the moment. He signaled Zhao Jing outside the car.

Zhao Jing hurriedly extinguished the cigarette, opened the car door, got in, and quickly started the car and drove away.

Back at the Pei Mansion, Shen Heyu instinctively wanted to go to her daughter’s room, hoping to use it as an excuse to avoid Pei Yansi’s persecution.

However, as soon as she opened the car door, her wrist was yanked by the man. She turned her head to meet Pei Yansi’s cold and stern phoenix eyes as he stared at her and said, one word at a time, "Come with me, wherever you want to go."

No sooner had he spoken than he unceremoniously pulled Shen Heyu from the car and completely restrained her in his hands before heading towards the Pei Mansion.

He didn’t glance at his daughter’s room and cut off all of Shen Heyu’s thoughts as Pei Yansi directly pulled her into their marital bedroom.

It was already very late. The lights in the room were not turned on, and there were no neon lights outside the old house in the suburbs.

The bridal chamber was quiet and dark, only the dim moonlight provided enough visibility to faintly discern the items inside.

Pei Yansi had no intention of turning on the lights either; he directly grabbed Shen Heyu and threw her onto the soft bed.

Shen Heyu was hurt by the fall; even though the bed was soft enough, she was still slightly dazed. By the time she regained her senses, Pei Yansi’s body was already pressing down on her. He lifted her chin, stared into her eyes, and asked word by word, "Do you like that young man, Lu Yi?"

Shen Heyu was stunned at his words; she momentarily forgot to struggle. Then she quickly came to her senses and stared at him incredulously, "What nonsense are you talking about? Lu Yi is just a friend of mine. There’s nothing between us. How could you say that I like him?"

"Moreover, have you forgotten that we are legally husband and wife? How could I possibly have an affair with someone else while our marital relationship is still valid?"

Fire flashed in Shen Heyu’s eyes, her anger unmasked. What she could least tolerate was Pei Yansi doing this; his suspicions, to her, were an alternative form of insult.

After all, this was the nature of their relationship.

Pei Yansi looked at her deeply. The night light from the window shone down, making her indignant eyes gleam brightly. He watched her for a long while and then, seemingly having thought of something, he said, "It doesn’t matter. Whether it is true or not, there will be an answer tomorrow."

Shen Heyu, hearing this, felt something was amiss and a chill ran down her spine, as though he was scheming something in secret.

"What are you trying to do?" she couldn’t help but retort.

Pei Yansi did not speak, but instead turned over, pulled her into his arms, then pulled the quilt over both of them.

Under the quilt, his hand slowly reached into Shen Heyu’s clothes as if bringing punishment. Shen Heyu winced in pain and pressed fiercely on his wrist, trying to stop his further actions.

"Let go," she said.

Pei Yansi didn’t respond and continued as he pleased. At that moment, Shen Heyu realized that Pei Yansi’s anger was not going to subside tonight, and she could not escape tonight’s punishment.

She did not stop him further, nor did she refuse; she just lay there stunned, not resisting or reacting, allowing him to proceed.

After all, her resistance ultimately would only hurt herself.

Pei Yansi soon noticed that the woman he was kissing had suddenly become as still as a dead fish.

He looked up in the darkness at Shen Heyu’s blurred face, saw the tears shimmering in her eyes, and his heart suddenly ached. He reached out to gently wipe away her tears, "Why are you crying?"

He hadn’t done anything.

Shen Heyu turned her head away, clearly unwilling to engage with him, and even less willing to speak to him.

Pei Yansi watched her for a long while, about fifteen minutes later, he placed his hands on either side of her body, supporting himself, and just looked down at her, "Stop crying."

After saying that, he turned over, which was his way of sparing her; he continued to hold her tightly in his arms, leaving her no room to resist.

Shen Heyu was almost suffocated in his embrace, thinking of her current plight, tears filled her eyes again.
