Chapter 278 Rescue
Chapter 278: Chapter 278 Rescue
Pei Yansi seemed as if he couldn’t feel pain, holding the wooden stock and aiming it at Shen Jiangli.
He said to him coldly, "You better pray that Heyu doesn’t have any issues. Otherwise, I absolutely won’t let you off."
There was a wound on his shoulder from the wooden stock earlier, a dark hole continuously oozing blood.
Yet, he completely disregarded it, staring with icy eyes at the man before him, his chest filled with rage toward him.
Shen Jiangli, seeing the wooden stock aimed at himself, didn’t move for the moment, nor did he dare to.
He knew Pei Yansi’s methods were cruel. With this thing in his hands, he would definitely show no mercy and would strike him down.
He dared not gamble with his own life.
He glared back with cold eyes just as well, silent for the moment, but the look in his eyes was full of defiance.
After a while, Pei Yansi heard Zhao Jing’s voice from above, "President Pei, we’ve found them."
Loud noises came from upstairs; it was the door Shen Jiangli had initially locked, now being busted open by Zhao Jing and her team.
The lock went "crack" and shattered, falling to the ground, making a loud noise.
Pei Yansi put away the wooden stock and told Shen Jiangli, "You better not make any other moves."
It was just a simple sentence, but the threat and warning in his tone were particularly intense.
His gaze was unfriendly as he took steps backward, going upstairs.
Shen Jiangli stood in place for a few seconds, seemingly pondering something, before he followed.
Arriving at the door of the room, Pei Yansi immediately saw Heyu inside.
At that moment, because of the drugs, her beautiful face turned rosy, eyes brimming with pitiable tears, stirring sympathy in anyone who looked at her.
Extremely endearing, yet pitiable, it could easily arouse a man’s desire to conquer.
Pei Yansi instantly understood what Shen Jiangli had given her.
He tossed the wooden stock to Zhao Jing and, after instructing her to watch Shen Jiangli, he strode towards Heyu.
Heyu looked at him as he quickly approached, and despite him being backlit, he seemed like a deity descending to earth. She couldn’t deny that at this moment, he was indeed her only savior.
She parted her lips, wanting to speak, but not knowing what to say, and lacking the strength, she could only watch him come to her before he swept her up in his arms.
"How are you?" As soon as he held Heyu, his suppressed concern came through in his question. As he held her, he didn’t even realize his hands were trembling.
Heyu’s clothes were in disarray, and her hair was a mess, conjuring up all sorts of thoughts. Initially, Pei Yansi had braced for the worst-case scenario, but he also knew that no matter the outcome, he would never give up on her.
He would never leave her.
But seeing that Heyu was unharmed and without any injuries filled Pei Yansi’s heart with agitation and relief, yet also with some hatred.
In his arms, Heyu shook her head and weakly clung to his neck, trying to stabilize herself, fearful she might fall.
Pei Yansi held her tightly and walked out of the room. Shen Jiangli, however, stepped forward, blocking the way in front of him and Heyu.
Blocked in his path, Pei Yansi forcefully stopped and raised his head, staring at Shen Jiangli with an unfriendly gaze and said, "What more do you want?"
Shen Jiangli glanced at Shen Heyu in his arms and said coldly, "She is mine."
Pei Yansi, as if he had heard some funny joke, let out a sneer and said, "She is my wife, I hope you understand that."
Shen Jiangli retorted, "She is also my good friend."
"I’m not, ..."
Shen Heyu denied it, even though she was in Pei Yansi’s arms, and even though she had no strength in her body, she forced her eyelids open to deny her relationship with Shen Jiangli.
After what Shen Jiangli had done to her, how could she still consider him a friend.
Now, Shen Heyu would recall the matter concerning her sister; she remembered President Pei himself saying before that this matter was related to Shen Jiangli, and now being involved in this, her prejudice against him grew even stronger.
She thought that maybe he wasn’t as harmless as he had seemed to her, looking suave and being popular. In fact, he was sinister and cruel, filled with malice.
Shen Jiangli saw the hatred and intense disgust in Shen Heyu’s eyes, and he knew that this time, he had truly touched Shen Heyu’s raw nerve.
However, he also had no better way to deal with their relationship.
Since it had come to this point, since he had already scared her, if he halted his plans now, he would be the one utterly defeated.
So, this time, he wouldn’t let go no matter what.
He stepped forward, confronting Pei Yansi face to face, reaching out to take Shen Heyu from his arms.
Zhao Jing, who was nearby, saw this and quickly drew the gun President Pei had handed her at the beginning, aiming at the back of Shen Jiangli’s head.
"You best be sensible; you should know that President Pei is not someone you can simply provoke."
Shen Jiangli sneered, if the mock gun were in Pei Yansi’s hands, maybe he would have been afraid, but now that it was in Zhao Jing’s hands, it posed no threat to him.
For he was sure Zhao Jing didn’t have the skill or the courage.
Shen Heyu turned her head, seemingly aware of what he wanted to do. She said with difficulty, "Leave a knife for our friendship, we have come this far, don’t keep making mistakes..."
She tried to appeal to Shen Jiangli’s reason, but it was a pity that he had now become obsessed, his mind completely filled with himself, unable to listen to any persuasion.
Shen Jiangli’s fists clenched tightly, and he swung them towards Pei Yansi, but Zhao Jing, quick to react, pulled the trigger with force.
The contents flew out, silenced, and didn’t make a sound, piercing straight through Shen Jiangli’s palm.
Creating a bloody, gaping hole.
Shen Jiangli, in pain, stepped back, clearing the path, while Pei Yansi walked forward with the woman in his arms, leaving behind a cold statement as he passed, "This isn’t over, just wait."
Once he dealt with Shen Heyu, he would certainly turn back to settle the score.
But now was not the time; he could feel Shen Heyu’s body becoming extremely hot in his arms, as she started to twist restlessly, her hands gripping his neck more tightly.
Pei Yansi knew she had reached her limit, and he was the one who could provide some relief now.
He placed her in the back seat of the car, where the heat was turned on. Shen Heyu still felt overheated; as soon as she sat down, she couldn’t help but tear at her clothes.
Seeing this, Pei Yansi reached out to hold her wrist, "Don’t move."
