She Asks for a Divorce Again
Chapter 268: Let Go Again

Chapter 268: Chapter 268: Let Go Again

Shen Heyu’s entire body broke out in goosebumps.

She realized that this man had never changed; he had always been domineering and autocratic.

He absolutely would not allow anyone to defy him. The freedom he outwardly gave her, without imposing restrictions, was in reality to better ensure her complete submission.

She didn’t understand, she said, "But why? I’ve told you, I won’t go back. If you really want me to hate you forever, you can continue to coerce me."

Pei Yansi didn’t speak.

He stared deeply into her eyes, not knowing what he was thinking.

He too was feeling uneasy; if he forced her to return with him, she might never trust him again, and would always hate him.

But when he thought of those two men...

Jealousy, possessiveness, emotionalism, the inability to control desires—these feelings had once been the most primitive and useless emotions for Pei Yansi.

Yet now, he was almost completely devoured by these base desires.

He looked at Shen Heyu’s face, the one he yearned for day and night.

But she didn’t belong to him.

The dislike for him was clear in her eyes now.

Pei Yansi suddenly felt a bit panicked.

Thinking of what Zhao Jing had said, that this would only push her further away.

He quickly lowered his head and changed his tone, saying, "I was just joking with you."

"Then let me go!"

Shen Heyu didn’t believe him, but for now, in order to escape his shackles, she had to go along with his words.

Pei Yansi looked at her for a few seconds, as if contemplating whether it was feasible and eventually, he let her go.

He lay down beside her, and she, now free, abruptly got up from the bed, intending to leave.

Pei Yansi, quick as a flash, grabbed her, "Where are you going?"

Shen Heyu replied, "Since you won’t go to the guest room, you can have this place, I’ll go by myself."

At the end of the day, she even wanted to leave the bed.

Pei Yansi’s eyes turned cold, completely unwilling to accommodate; he grabbed her wrist and pulled her back fiercely, imprisoning her in his embrace and beneath him.

He stared at her coldly and said, "I’ve done enough to give you freedom. I have always been compromising, giving you what you want, I don’t want you to defy me any longer."

"I don’t want to really take you back, so I advise you, be a bit more obedient. Don’t make me angry."

His voice carried a warning, his eyes full of danger.

Shen Heyu looked at him, and after a while, she said, "Then don’t touch me improperly."

Her voice was somewhat aggrieved, like a bullied young wife.

Pei Yansi felt a warmth in his heart, lowered his head, and kissed her forehead, "I promise you. I won’t do anything to you."

"You too, be obedient," he said tenderly while coaxing, the act of kissing her forehead revealing an endless infatuation.

Shen Heyu, lying beneath him, didn’t move or speak, unsure of what counted as being obedient.

Pei Yansi saw what she was thinking and took the initiative to explain, "Just lie down nicely, let me hold you, don’t struggle, don’t reject."

Shen Heyu blinked and uttered an "Oh."

Seeing her like this, Pei Yansi felt pleased internally, but his face remained expressionless; he just held her as they fell asleep in the night.

Meanwhile, Shen Jiangli hadn’t returned but was in Jiang City, where he had checked into a star-rated hotel.

Originally, Lu Yi was planning to obediently return home, but seeing his actions, he eventually followed him and checked into the same hotel.

Both were reluctant to leave.

It was as if by staying here, they could pursue Shen Heyu.

Shen Jiangli left at noon, and the moment he arrived at the hotel, he contacted Han Manyin to come over.

Han Manyin arrived almost at the same time as Yuexue, around dinner time.

Led by an assistant, she made her way to Shen Jiangli’s room.

Upon entering the luxurious presidential suite, one could immediately feel its opulence.

Han Manyin saw Shen Jiangli sitting on the living room sofa, smoking, his long fingers pinching a hint of scarlet.

Through the swirling smoke, he looked up at Han Manyin and said indifferently, "You’ve arrived."

Although Han Manyin couldn’t discern his current mood, she could tell from his eyes that he was in a very bad mood.

At least on the verge of rage.

The ashtray beside him was filled with cigarette butts; it seemed he had been smoking here for a long time.

Han Manyin remembered the last time, in his office, when he suddenly lost his temper. This thought naturally brought some fear into her heart, and she told herself not to provoke him under any circumstance.

She slowly walked over to him, not daring to sit, just stood there and asked, "President Shen, why did you suddenly ask me to come?"

She had thought that she would not have a chance. They had come for Shen Heyu and wouldn’t be free to deal with her.

"Do I need a reason to miss you?"

Shen Jiangli spoke in a deep voice, his words ambiguous yet his eyes devoid of any affection as he gestured for her to sit down.

She obediently and cleverly sat beside him.

She didn’t speak, just waited for him to start, always remembering the obedient and compliant persona she had maintained since her memory loss.

Shen Jiangli said, "Last night you were in Lu Yi’s room, tell me everything that was done or said, without missing a single word."

Han Manyin’s mind raced. He had spent so much effort and waited four to five hours for her to arrive; surely it was not just for this statement.

There must be another reason.

Or perhaps he had sensed something and needed to confirm and probe with her.

Thinking this, Han Manyin deliberately spoke obediently, "I went, but Lu Yi is quite innocent and, being a doctor who values health, has a very regular routine. It was late last night; he thought I was in the wrong room and escorted me back."

What she said aligned perfectly with what she had agreed with Lu Yi.

Shen Jiangli thought about what he had asked Lu Yi when he had left Shen He’s house today, and Lu Yi had given the same explanation.

Their stories matched perfectly, not a single discrepancy, as if they had arranged it beforehand.

Shen Jiangli’s expression turned cold, and lifting her chin, he asked, "Have you ever lied to me?"

"How could I ever lie to you?"

"Really?"

Shen Jiangli chuckled lightly, his eyes, however, filled with indifference, "How long do you plan to deceive me? You never lost your memory, did you?"

His words struck Han Manyin like a warning bell, resounding harshly in her heart.

Her mind trembled, "President Shen, what do you mean?"

She pretended not to understand.

Shen Jiangli, exasperated, had noticed her anomaly back when they were in the cabin.

She hadn’t lost her memory.

And she was still pretending.

Shen Jiangli said coldly, "I’m only giving you three chances to clarify whether you’ve truly lost your memory or not. If your answers don’t satisfy me, do you know the consequences?"

Han Manyin shivered uncontrollably, not daring to move, his gaze too sinister, instilling terror.
