She Asks for a Divorce Again
Chapter 264: Follow Her

Chapter 264: Chapter 264: Follow Her

Pei Yansi got up first and went to the adjoining bathroom to freshen up. Then he went downstairs and before leaving, he said to Shen Heyu, "I’ll make breakfast for you, come down after you freshen up."

Shen Heyu nodded.

She watched him leave the room before she got out of bed and quickly entered the bathroom to wash up herself.

She felt a bit itchy on her chest, reached to scratch, and pulled open her neckline. The moment she opened her clothes, it was as if she saw a distinct red mark on her fair chest.

The mark looked like a hickey, very ambiguous. There, she could almost feel the ambiguous aura it emitted.

Shen Heyu felt puzzled, she pulled her neckline open more forcefully to check.

Just then, the bathroom door was suddenly pulled open. Startled, she turned her head to see Pei Yansi standing at the door. His expression was dark and unreadable as he asked, "What are you looking at?"

It was impossible for Shen Heyu to tell him that she was inspecting under her neckline.

She had no choice but to pull her clothes up while saying with a stiff upper lip, "Nothing much, just straightening out my neckline."

After speaking, as if afraid he would pry further, she quickly changed the subject, "Why did you come back up?"

He had just gone downstairs not long ago, which is why she dared to so brazenly inspect her body.

Pei Yansi looked at her for a few seconds without asking anything else.

Because he knew what she was doing just now.

If she knew what he had done while she was asleep, she would surely be angry.

Since that was the case, he took matters into his own hands.

He stepped forward and hugged Shen Heyu from behind. Lifting his head, he could see their reflection in the mirror in front of them.

Shen Heyu, in his embrace, had a slight flush on her face, her neckline pulled slightly downwards, revealing her fair skin beneath. He said, "I’ve already made breakfast for you, let’s go down and have some."

Shen Heyu, being held this way, his actions intimate and his demeanor composed, somewhat disconcerted her.

She slightly struggled in his arms, trying to pull away.

Pei Yansi sensed her intent and didn’t force her to stay any longer than was necessary.

He couldn’t scare her away.

He let her go but still held one of her hands, leading her downstairs.

As they went down, Heyu saw Shen Jiangli, who had gotten up at some point, now sitting on the living room sofa looking at documents.

Lu Yi was next to him, seemingly on purpose yet casually asked, "President Shen is up early."

Shen Jiangli nodded indifferently. He set his documents aside, turned his head to look at him, and said, "Did Doctor Lu sleep well last night?"

His words carried a deep meaning, and his eyes were profound. Lu Yi could tell he was displeased. It seemed Han Manyin had told the truth.

"Not bad, and you, President Shen?"

"Also not bad," Shen Jiangli said with a faint smile, concealing the malice in his heart. Yesterday’s arrangements involving Han Manyin had failed.

Utterly failed.

She didn’t even manage to make Lu Yi stay and got thrown out of the room.

Shen Jiangli felt something was off. No matter how you looked at it, Han Manyin was a fairly attractive woman. It was understandable if Lu Yi wasn’t interested, but getting thrown out of the room was odd.

It didn’t seem likely for Beauty Zhang to be thrown out of the room.

He looked up just as Shen Heyu came over, her hand still being held by Pei Yansi.

He stopped looking at Lu Yi and instead greeted her.

She smiled back at him and quietly sat at the dining table.

Shen Jiangli now realized that Shen Heyu’s attitude towards him seemed somewhat cold.

Colder than before.

He didn’t know why, but upon reflecting, he hadn’t done anything recently to wrong her.

He subconsciously furrowed his brows, a bad premonition surfacing. Could it be that she found out about Shen Fanshuang?

At this moment, Pei Yansi suddenly looked up, fixing his gaze towards him with deep eyes,

fretted with things he couldn’t understand.

As they turned silent, the voices on the other side of the dining table became strikingly clear, and both heard Pei Yansi say, "I’ll take you back later."

Shen Heyu nodded, not responding.

Shen Jiangli wanted to test her attitude towards himself, so he took the initiative to ask, "Where are you heading back to, where have you been staying this past month?"

"Anyway, not here."

Shen Heyu gave an ambiguous reply, "I’m leaving in a moment."

Shen Jiangli quietly watched her, no longer speaking. He could feel from her words, the distance she put between them.

Her estrangement was so evident that even Lu Yi noticed it.

He strangely glanced at the two, as if they were quarreling, and then remembered what Han Manyin had said last night; Shen Jiangli was trying to kick himself out of the game and was even using Han Manyin as a pawn.

He was so aggressive, but why? Looking at the current situation, his relationship with Shen Heyu seemed quite tense.

Tense to the point where he was worried that Shen Heyu might leave, hence his haste, even starting to involve Han Manyin?

Lu Yi suppressed his suspicions for the moment, remaining silent. He waited, watching how Han Manyin would pursue Shen Heyu.

Just then, Han Manyin came down from upstairs, her face beaming with a smile. She sat next to Shen Heyu and said, "Don’t rush off, it’s not easy for everyone to gather for New Year’s."

Shen Heyu didn’t say a word.

Pei Yansi coldly glanced at Han Manyin, whose hand was still on Shen Heyu’s shoulder, seemingly friendly.

But he noticed the undisguised displeasure from Shen Heyu.

He frowned and said to Han Manyin, "Take your hand off."

Han Manyin uttered a sound in surprise, quickly retracting her hand, and deliberately said, "Sorry about that."

Shen Heyu didn’t say a word. But after quickly finishing her breakfast, she planned to leave with Pei Yansi.

Seeing this, Han Manyin subtly signaled to Lu Yi.

The latter, understanding her hint, quickly said, "I’ll accompany you. Heyu."

Just at the door, Shen Heyu paused, stopped in her tracks, and Pei Yansi also stopped; she turned around to look at Lu Yi and said, "No need."

Pei Yansi was already escorting her, and if anyone else joined, he would definitely be unhappy, plus, with Pei Yansi’s company, she actually didn’t need anyone else.

Even without Pei Yansi, she didn’t really need anybody’s company.

However, Lu Yi was already stepping towards her, "You haven’t been in touch all month, I’ve been quite worried about you. Let me accompany you, just to see you safely home, and also to see where you are now."

Without waiting for Shen Heyu to refuse, he continued, "Don’t worry, I only want to know if you’re doing well. I definitely won’t, unless permitted, bother you."

Faced with his words, an old friend for many years, Shen Heyu momentarily didn’t know how to refuse.

Pei Yansi stepped forward to say, "Men’s words are untrustworthy, I think she doesn’t want you to go either."

After finishing, he grabbed her hand, turned, and walked away.

Lu Yi stubbornly followed.
