She Asks for a Divorce Again -
Chapter 257 Send Her Away
Chapter 257: Chapter 257 Send Her Away
After saying this, both of them noticeably froze.
Shen Heyu hadn’t expected that she would be so straightforward, especially in such a setting.
She felt she was losing face and slowly lowered her head.
But at this moment, she heard Pei Yansi earnestly say, "Yes, ever since you left, I’ve always wanted you to come back. Whether it was in the past or now, it has always been so."
Shen Heyu, upon hearing his words, lifted her head and looked at Pei Yansi.
She met his affectionate gaze, his eyes brimming with emotion, unlike his previously undisturbed coldness.
She was taken aback, having never seen him look at her with such eyes, as if he truly loved her to the core.
"Don’t tease me," Shen Heyu said, deliberately making her voice sound cold, ignoring him.
She didn’t believe he truly had any feelings for her.
Otherwise, how could he have treated her that way six years ago? Even now, as he tried to make amends, shattered glass could never be completely mended without a single crack.
At that moment, a firework suddenly burst in the sky outside, its bright explosion illuminating the night and showering Pei Yansi’s eyes with light as if tiny stars had fallen into them.
It was breathtakingly beautiful.
Shen Heyu was momentarily stunned by the sight.
Pei Yansi noticed she was daydreaming and waved his hand in front of her eyes, "Is it that pretty?"
His voice was filled with mirth.
Shen Heyu immediately came back to reality, quickly turned away from the video, and suddenly realized that over these past few days she always ended up gazing at him, distracted.
It was somewhat inexplicable.
Gradually, she didn’t feel like herself anymore - as if she were some lovestruck girl.
"It’s not that I won’t let you see," Pei Yansi said while pulling her into his arms. He sat on the balcony sofa with Shen Heyu nestled in his embrace, his hand gently stroking her long hair, his movements unbelievably tender, "Why so excited?"
Shen Heyu blushed at his words.
"Stop it," she protested.
Pei Yansi chuckled softly and remained quiet, lifting a lock of Shen Heyu’s black hair to toy with it in his hands, "So, do you agree? I’ll take you tomorrow."
What could he do? To have her, to make her willingly stay by his side, he would rather humbly beg and deeply hide his possessiveness.
Slowly moving closer to her, bit by bit, conquering her heart.
Shen Heyu knew as well that she couldn’t avoid him.
"Okay," she finally agreed.
She didn’t see the hint of triumph that appeared in Pei Yansi’s eyes after she spoke.
He knew she was kind-hearted, and as long as he made a move, she would inevitably get hooked.
Pei Yansi thought that this time, no matter what, once he had her again, he would ensure she stayed by his side forever, treating her well so she would never again think of leaving him.

Meanwhile.
In Shen Jiangli’s house, he lay in the soft, large bed of his bedroom, holding Han Manyin in his arms.
Their floor was high up, and the place was in the city center, the room was dark while the outside neon lights cast into the room, illuminating the entangled man and woman on the bed.
Under Shen Jiangli, Han Manyin gasped for air, her arms wrapped around his neck as she said, "The woman who came to the house the other day, who was she?"
Bringing up Shen Heyu at such a time was actually an unwise choice, but Han Manyin had no choice; men are most irrational and most likely to spill the truth during such moments.
Only then could she ask the questions that weighed on her heart.
Over the past month, Han Manyin had used the excuse of amnesia to stay by his side and had received his good care.
As time went on, she simply could not bear to part with this little bit of warmth.
But she found that, even so, Lu Yi seemed to have no place for her in his heart. His kindness to her appeared to be for some reason.
And that reason, she did not know.
But she suspected it was Shen Heyu.
Shen Jiangli got off her and lay down beside her, casually lit a cigarette, and said, "Why are you asking about her at this time?"
Han Manyin didn’t speak.
Her face was flushed red, a result of the bout of passion they had just shared.
Shen Jiangli looked at her, "Just someone from the past. You’ve already forgotten, there’s no need to bring her up to you again."
Remembering the past, if it hadn’t been for Shen Heyu, he would never have bothered with Han Manyin. Perhaps he would have let her fend for herself.
And her likely ending would have mirrored Shen Fanshuang’s, with no way out, dragged to death.
Thinking of this possibility and Shen Fanshuang’s previous death, Shen Jiangli couldn’t help but think that Shen Heyu was like his redemption.
Otherwise, he would have been burdened with a life lost.
Han Manyin keenly realized that at this moment, his demeanor suddenly turned somber, not because of Shen Heyu.
But more like self-reproach.
Han Manyin leaned onto him, "What are you thinking about?"
Shen Jiangli silently watched her for a few seconds, then, blowing a ring of smoke from her face, wrapped one arm around her slender waist, and slowly said, "Do you want to leave this place?"
Han Manyin was noticeably stunned when she heard his words. Leave here, but where to then? Was he thinking about abandoning her again?
She didn’t want that.
She wanted to stay by his side forever.
"I don’t want to leave you," mumbled Han Manyin, hugging Shen Jiangli even tighter, with both hands clasped around his waist, burying her face in his chest, clinging like a child.
Shen Jiangli gently pushed her away.
Not allowing her to remain in his embrace.
"I’ll send you to someone who can definitely take good care of you," Shen Jiangli said, looking at her.
Previously, he had taken care of her because of her amnesia, he felt guilty and that led him to involuntarily think of Shen Fanshuang’s death.
But a couple of days ago, when Shen Heyu came here, he had to admit to himself that he had lost control again.
No matter how much Han Manyin resembled her, she ultimately was not Shen Heyu.
What he wanted was Shen Heyu, the unique her.
A substitute, he was not fond of such things, or more accurately, he should know when to stop. Han Manyin was not suited, not only unsuited, but she constantly reminded him that she was just an impostor, a stand-in. He wanted the real thing.
He wanted Shen Heyu.
Nevertheless, the reason Han Manyin had ended up like this today was indeed because of him, so he wasn’t going to neglect her. He would send her to a trustworthy person to live out the rest of her days peacefully.
After all, since she had lost her memory, it didn’t matter whom she was with.
Han Manyin sat beside him, quietly watching him, observing his expressions, almost guessing what he was thinking.
She said, "Do you want to send me to someone else?"
Shen Jiangli looked at her in surprise.
He hadn’t expected that, even with her amnesia, she would have such keen insight.
Or perhaps, he had never really understood her before.
