She Asks for a Divorce Again
Chapter 237 - 337: Necktie

Chapter 237: Chapter 337: Necktie

The items on the shopping street were dazzling, and Shen Heyu could hardly keep up.

Though foreign goods looked much the same as domestic ones on the surface, a closer inspection would reveal significant differences.

This street was lined exclusively with high-end goods; the merchandise was expensive but exquisitely crafted.

Shen Heyu’s eyes were immediately drawn to a tie.

It was a gray tie, devoid of any additional decoration or pattern, pure silver-gray.

The color appeared somewhat dim, nestled between black and white, and carried a sense of detachment.

It was somewhat reminiscent of Pei Yansi’s temperament.

Shen Heyu stopped walking and peered at the tie through the shop window.

Encased by the glass, the gray hue seemed even more subdued and enigmatic.

Pei Yansi stopped alongside her.

He, too, noticed the tie.

Almost at a glance, he was certain that Shen Heyu was selecting with care.

She turned to look at him, a shine in her eyes that he had never seen before, devoid of the usual annoyance she harbored toward him.

"Let’s go with this one."

She felt that this tie was him.

Pei Yansi took her hand and led her into the shop.

The shop assistant immediately came up to greet them, offering service with great enthusiasm.

Shen Heyu pointed to the tie.

The assistant took it down for her.

"Madam, you have an excellent eye..." the assistant began to flatter with a long spiel.

Shen Heyu ignored it all, held the tie against Pei Yansi’s chest, and with a slight smile said, "Let’s go with this one."

Pei Yansi could see the satisfaction in her eyes.

Unlike before, it wasn’t dull with aversion.

He smiled genuinely, the corners of his mouth curling slightly as he looked tenderly at her in the gathering dusk.

He said, "Do you want to try it on?"

Shen Heyu replied, "You could try it on."

Pei Yansi touched the tie, glancing at her small face, and said, "I want you to tie it for me."

His look was unprecedentedly gentle, his tone pleading, as if he feared Shen Heyu might refuse him.

Fortunately, Shen Heyu remembered what he had said earlier that day, that he would truly let her go in seven days, but only if she behaved herself now.

So, she pulled Pei Yansi toward the shop’s dressing mirror.

She stood on tiptoes, meticulously preparing his tie.

He was much taller than she, towering over her by a head and more, requiring her to stand as tall as she could, stretching to reach him to tie it in place.

Pei Yansi looked down as she drew close, so close that he could even smell her scent; momentarily moved, he couldn’t resist leaning down to kiss her between the eyebrows.

His kiss was light, like a feather brushing across her brow — she froze in surprise, barely reacting.

Caught off guard, she lifted her head and met Pei Yansi’s deep gaze.

His eyes, seemingly placid, swirled with an undercurrent of complex emotions, a hard-to-articulate yearning hidden within.

In that instant, Shen Heyu thought she heard her own heart beating.

She hurriedly looked down, avoiding Pei Yansi’s gaze.

Pei Yansi, perceptive of her reaction, chuckled softly, deliberately teasing, "What are you avoiding?"

Shen Heyu shook her head; having finished tying the tie, she quickly stepped back to create some distance between them, saying, "You can take a look for yourself."

Pei Yansi recognized her evasiveness.

He didn’t say much, instead, he turned to inspect himself in a nearby mirror.

He had to admit, this tie was indeed very suitable for him. It seemed that Shen Heyu still had him in mind.

Otherwise, she wouldn’t have been able to find such a perfect match for him.

Pei Yansi was in a great mood, the smile on his face grew much more abundant, he turned his head to look at Shen Heyu and said with a smile, "I really like it."

Shen Heyu lowered her head, not saying much.

Pei Yansi took her hand after swiping his card, and they left the store together.

He enclosed her hand completely in the palm of his.

He could feel it, her hand was ice-cold.

It was winter now.

He pulled Shen Heyu along and directly, excessively, stuffed her hand into his coat pocket.

"Now your hand won’t be cold," he said to her in a light-hearted tone.

She wanted to withdraw her hand but didn’t.

Pei Yansi didn’t give her the opportunity.

He kept caressing, obsessively fondling the ring on her ring finger. His actions were gentle and infatuated.

People were coming and going on the street, and it was almost New Year’s, bustling with merry atmosphere everywhere. As Shen Heyu and he walked together through the festive streets, watching the world’s joys and sorrows, she fell under the illusion of ordinary happiness.

Of course, only she knew that there were only four days left between them.

Pei Yansi was also fully aware of it.

Neither of them mentioned it.

They both tried their best to keep this final period of time peaceful.

When the two returned to the hotel, their daughter had already woken up.

It was time for lunch, and Yuexue was sitting on the sofa. Seeing them return, she hurriedly lunged into Pei Yansi’s arms.

She sweetly called out, "Daddy!"

After calling for him, she ran over to Shen Heyu and hugged her.

"Mommy," she said.

She was only as tall as Shen Heyu’s waist and had to look up to see her.

When Shen Heyu lowered her head, she saw her daughter’s smiling face. Her daughter looked so much like Pei Yansi that seeing her always involuntarily led her thoughts to him.

She couldn’t understand—her daughter was also born of her, yet why were there so few similarities between them on their features?

She looked at Pei Yansi with a bit of complaint.

The latter, as if sensing what she was thinking, said with a smile, "Like our daughter said, if we add a brother or a sister, maybe they will look like you."

Shen Heyu frowned tightly.

The thing she disliked the most was him saying these things.

She walked over and sat down at the dining table. After going out for the morning, she was already so hungry her stomach was growling.

Seeing this, Pei Yansi didn’t say more either. He too, holding their daughter, sat down at the dining table and got in touch with the hotel’s front desk to have lunch delivered to their room.

Before long, their lunch had all been served.

While Yuexue shoveled food into her mouth, she looked up at Shen Heyu and said seriously, "Uncle Lu came looking for you half an hour ago."

Shen Heyu was momentarily stunned and subconsciously glanced at Pei Yansi beside her.

Observing his expression.

She suddenly realized, no matter how far her Pei Yansi went, she always feared him.

Oddly enough, he clearly would not hit her, yet there was an inexplicable, faint fear surfacing in her heart.

Especially when other men were mentioned.

Originally, Pei Yansi didn’t think much of it, but when he saw her turning to look his way, he felt she was being guilty.

"What are you looking at?"

Shen Heyu inadvertently retracted her gaze, "Nothing."

Pei Yansi continued, "Why did your Uncle Lu come looking for Mommy?"
