She Asks for a Divorce Again -
Chapter 221: Meal for Three
Chapter 221: Chapter 221: Meal for Three
The three of them shared lunch. How could it sound so eerie?
Shen Heyu frowned, wanting to decline, but Pei Yansi had spoken before she could, "Of course, it’s okay, isn’t it?"
His last sentence was directed at Shen Heyu.
She felt a tingling on her scalp.
Was there even any room for her to speak here?
What she didn’t understand was why Pei Yansi, who was known to be easily jealous and suspicious, would agree with Shen Jiangli’s suggestion.
Sometimes, she really couldn’t figure out this man’s way of thinking.
Her silence, for Pei Yansi, was an agreement, "Since we agree, let’s go then."
After speaking, he grabbed Shen Heyu’s hand as if declaring ownership and walked out.
The two of them held hands as they passed by Shen Jiangli.
When they brushed past him, Pei Yansi gave him a deep look as if to assert something.
How could Shen Jiangli not understand his look?
He was clearly saying, "She is my woman."
Their tight grip was a proof, and also a show of defiance towards Shen Jiangli.
Shen Jiangli was speechless and followed them closely.
There was a nice restaurant close to the company.
Shen Heyu picked the location. She really did not want to stay with these two men under such a creepy atmosphere.
So, she chose a nearby restaurant whose specialty was fast service, hoping to finish quickly and end it all soon.
Pei Yansi asked for a private room.
Shen Heyu found a corner to sit, and Pei Yansi sat next to her?
When Shen Jiangli saw this, he also sat unyieldingly on the other side of Shen Heyu.
For a moment, Shen Heyu was sandwiched in the middle, flanked by these two childish men.
The waiter looked at them with a peculiar gaze.
Pei Yansi said coldly, "What are you looking at?"
Contrary to him, Shen Jiangli smiled and said, "I know I look good. If you want to stare, go ahead, but don’t forget to bring us the menus."
Listening to the two men, Shen Heyu felt extremely frustrated.
Especially when the waiter cast an envious look at her, what was that all about?
She felt like she was skewered on a grill, being scorched, making her extremely uncomfortable.
Finally, when the dishes were all served, the restaurant’s service was good, with each private room having a waiter standing by.
Pei Yansi and Shen Jiangli, on her left and right, kept piling food onto her plate nonstop.
Before long, her bowl was filled to the brim.
She couldn’t even tell who had added what food.
Pei Yansi’s looks towards Shen Jiangli grew colder and colder.
The irony was that he and Shen Heyu were in a secret marriage, and he couldn’t explain anything.
Shen Heyu didn’t accept the food Shen Jiangli offered, importantly, she hadn’t even touched her own.
He grew angrier and angrier.
Originally, he had agreed to this meal just to see how Shen Heyu and Shen Jiangli interacted, whether they were intimate, if she was secretly liking someone else behind his back.
Who knew that she had such good judgment, there was absolutely no inappropriate behavior from her, which made her and Shen Jiangli look so strangely matched.
Especially the stationed waiter, whose gaze shifted from initial admiration of Shen Heyu to jealousy, and finally to worship...
Without needing to guess, Pei Yansi knew what the waiter was thinking.
Shen Heyu silently focused on eating her meal, constantly telling herself to pretend these two men didn’t exist.
Finally, when the lunch was over, her spirit was nearly tormented to its limit. She just wanted to leave this place as quickly as possible.
As she stood up, Pei Yansi said, "The project you took over from me last time should be concluded by now, why don’t you come with me to the company and discuss your thoughts."
He wanted to take Shen Heyu to his office.
Shen Jiangli caught on right away and, obviously unwilling, said, "Heyu has been unwell these past few days, the project you mentioned has already been handed over to someone else. Since President Pei wants to discuss it, I’ll have the staff personally come to meet you."
Shen Heyu, catching the covert conflict between the two men, wanted to deal with neither and didn’t speak, leaving first.
As she passed by the stationed waiter, she heard them whisper in her ear, "Sister, you’re really lucky, both these men are outstanding, and they’re both your admirers!"
Shen Heyu grimaced, smiled awkwardly, not knowing what to say, and just left.
Seeing her reaction, the two men stopped arguing and followed her out.
Shen Heyu headed straight back to her company, with Pei Yansi insisting on escorting her.
Shen Jiangli walked by her side, and just like at the restaurant, she was stuck in the middle between these two men.
Upon reaching the company’s downstairs area, just about to part ways, Pei Yansi suddenly bent down, leaned close to Shen Heyu—his hot breath hitting her ear.
She recoiled slightly from the tickling sensation.
Pei Yansi whispered in her ear, "Don’t get too close to Shen Jiangli, I don’t like it."
Shen Heyu didn’t reply, her attractive eyebrows furrowing, as if silently refusing.
Seeing what she might be thinking, he said sternly, "What, you’re not happy? You promised me, seven days."
"I know."
Shen Heyu nodded, eventually agreeing. She walked into the company where Shen Jiangli took a lingering look at Pei Yansi, then followed her in.
He followed Shen Heyu into her office.
Regardless, he was the boss of the company, Shen Heyu couldn’t refuse him anything, much less throw him out.
Shen Jiangli pulled up a chair and sat across her desk, fingers tapping lightly on the surface, he asked softly, "You’re not planning to leave?"
Shen Heyu shook her head, "He said, give him seven days. After seven days, he will let me go."
"Do you believe him?"
Shen Jiangli pressed, "Do you truly believe he can do what he says?"
"I don’t know, but I don’t have another choice," Shen Heyu said, "You should know, not agreeing only has one outcome, but agreeing might lead to a second possibility."
Shen Jiangli didn’t say anything more.
She felt uneasy, perhaps due to what Han Manyin had said earlier that day. Experienced in reading people, Shen Jiangli noticed her unease and asked curiously, "What’s wrong, you’ve seemed off all day."
"Nothing..." She didn’t know how to explain this kind of thing to him.
He was about to speak again when he received a message from the HR department, stating that Han Manyin had resigned, and it was Shen Heyu who had approved it.
She was Shen Heyu’s assistant, Shen Heyu had the authority to let her go, but it wasn’t like she was oblivious to her own relationship with Han Manyin, she must have let her go because she knew something.
Shen Jiangli’s gaze flickered, he frowned and asked her, "What did she tell you?"
Shen Heyu was stunned, not expecting to be seen right through.
She shook her head, "Nothing."
"Okay."
Shen Jiangli didn’t press further, he had his ways of finding out.
