She Asks for a Divorce Again
Chapter 220: Resignation

Chapter 220: Chapter 220: Resignation

When Shen Heyu arrived at the company the next day and had just reached her own desk, Han Manyin came to find her.

She was holding a piece of white paper in her hand, and it was only when she displayed the paper in front of herself that Shen Heyu realized it was a resignation letter.

Employees from the president’s office always had to explain to their immediate superior first before a resignation letter could ultimately be submitted to HR.

However, she hadn’t expected that with her kind of relationship with Shen Jiangli, Han Manyin would still need to go through her.

Shen Heyu frowned and said, "I’m afraid you’ll have to hand this to President Shen; no one else in the company would dare let you go."

Their relationship wasn’t conducted discreetly, almost everyone in the company knew.

She was Shen Jiangli’s woman, and unless he personally let her go, no one would dare approve Han Manyin’s resignation letter.

Han Manyin stared at her and said, "What are you pretending for? What relationship do I even have with President Shen now? Aren’t you the clearest about that?"

Shen Heyu couldn’t understand what she meant by that.

"Why would I be clear about your relationship with President Shen?" she said irritably, returning the resignation letter, "I can’t approve this here; you still have to go see President Shen."

The more Shen Heyu said so, the angrier Han Manyin became.

Shen Heyu, as the main culprit, surely knew there was no relationship between her and Shen Jiangli anymore?

Her gaze upon Shen Heyu grew increasingly venomous, as if she wanted to tear her to pieces, "I don’t have any relationship with President Shen anymore, and it’s all because of you. How could you not know?"

"You must be thrilled inside, pretending not to know in front of me, are you trying to deliberately provoke and insult me?"

As Han Manyin’s words grew more and more outrageous, Shen Heyu’s expression also began to darken, "While I don’t support your relationship with President Shen, I’ve also never opposed it."

"There’s no need to blame me for how relationships between a man and a woman unfold."

Han Manyin laughed bitterly as if she had heard the biggest joke, "Shen Heyu, are you really oblivious or just playing dumb? President Shen’s heart belongs to you, don’t you realize that?"

"You already have a man, yet you keep things confusing with President Shen; if it weren’t for your back-and-forth, how could President Shen have broken up with me?"

Shen Heyu paused when she heard this.

Six years ago, Shen Jiangli had indeed expressed his feelings for her, but he was a casanova with countless women around him, and she didn’t think he had been sincere.

He had never brought it up again afterward.

She naturally assumed that what he’d said was just a joke.

Seeing Shen Heyu’s expression, Han Manyin sneered, "See, you knew all along, so stop pretending."

"I don’t have any relationship with President Shen now, so of course, you can approve this resignation."

Shen Heyu sighed internally.

Since that was the case, she indeed had the rights to let Han Manyin go.

She respected everyone’s decisions, although she believed that quitting a job over a breakup was a bit...

Without giving it further thought, she picked up a pen and signed Han Manyin’s resignation letter.

Han Manyin took the letter back, and finally said coldly to Shen Heyu, "Don’t think you have won. I won’t let this go so easily."

Seeing her stubborn delusion, Shen Heyu’s temper also flared, and she spoke sharply, "I’ll say this one last time, your breakup with President Shen has nothing to do with me; I wasn’t aware, nor did I cause it."

"You can think whatever you want of me, but let me tell you, someone once said the same thing to me that you said today. Do you know what happened to him?"

Shen Heyu sneered, "You wouldn’t want to know. I advise you to be sensible. I’m not easily bullied."

Han Manyin did not reply, but instead turned and left, slamming the door of her office with a thunderous crash.

Hearing the sound of the door slamming, Shen Heyu frowned slightly but said nothing.

She was simply speechless.

Despite the altercation with Han Manyin, her mood at work was unaffected. She spent the morning dealing with the partnership with Pei Yansi’s company.

As time flew by in her busy schedule, at noon, Shen Heyu received a call from Pei Yansi.

He wanted to accompany her to lunch.

She refused on the phone, "I can have lunch without company, thank you."

Her tone was very cold; Pei Yansi noticed it and, frowning on his end, stubbornly said, "I need to accompany. That should be fine, right? I’m coming to your company to have lunch with you. Wait for me."

After that, he didn’t give Shen Heyu any chance to refuse and hung up the phone.

Shen Heyu looked at her phone as the screen went dark and felt helpless, knowing she was unable to resist him and ultimately had to accept.

Fortunately for her, his appearance was one in a million, pleasing to look at during meals.

What she didn’t expect, however, was that she had not been waiting in her office for long before Shen Jiangli came in through the door.

"Let’s go to lunch together," he said with a smile.

Shen Heyu exclaimed in surprise.

She remembered what Han Manyin said that morning and felt somewhat uneasy seeing him now.

After all, she had always considered him a friend, but his intentions were different...

Seeing her peculiar expression, Shen Jiangli asked with concern, "What’s wrong? Are you feeling unwell? I can take you to the hospital."

"No, no need," Shen Heyu quickly refused, saying, "I have already made plans for lunch today."

Shen Jiangli quietly observed her facial expression, "With whom?"

He suddenly found himself caring a lot.

Previously, preoccupied with flirtation, he mistook his feelings for her as mere play until he heard about her remarriage to Pei Yansi. Whether she was willing or not, it suffocated him.

Because it proved that she was slipping away from him once again. Whether in the past, now, or in the future, she was never his.

Realizing this, Shen Jiangli spent the entire last night sleepless. Just this morning, he resolved to confront his feelings.

Gradually approaching her, proving his feelings with actions, confessing, seeking to possess.

As he awaited Shen Heyu’s response, the sound of steady, forceful footsteps approached from outside, followed by Pei Yansi’s voice, "She’s with me."

Shen Jiangli and Shen Heyu both turned toward the sound.

Dressed in a black suit, Pei Yansi was tall and slim, his facial expression half-smiling as he walked into Shen Heyu’s office.

"Doesn’t President Shen have a girlfriend? I remember she’s with this company too. Why does he need to arrange a lunch with my wife then?"

While speaking, Pei Yansi slightly narrowed his eyes at Shen Heyu, his gaze full of danger and warning, silently telling her that he was angry.

Her heart raced under his gaze.

Shen Jiangli said, "I just ended that relationship last night. But I’ve been good friends with Heyu for many years. Since President Pei is here, I don’t mind if we all have lunch together."
