Seoul Object Story
Chapter 350: Aftermath of the Orb of Wishes (5)

“The weather’s nice.”

The short-haired girl’s hair sparkled in the warm sunlight as she muttered, sitting by the window.

Her eyes reflected the scenery outside perfectly.

Newly constructed buildings and people who still seemed unfamiliar with the city.

This was the ‘Special Management Zone for Object Invasion Victims’ located on the outskirts of Songpa-gu, Seoul.

Also known as the Roll Cake Special Zone.

This place used to be filled with buildings owned by James Research Institute, but now it had become a place for people like ‘Big Sister’ to live.

Originally, the special zone was planned to be set up in a more dangerous area, but thanks to James Research Institute providing this area for Object invasion victims, they were able to live here.

The short-haired girl sat by the window, observing the ‘Roll Cake Special Zone’, while slowly stroking the hair of the Golden Armored Reaper, which was now fully equipped with armor.

Blue sky, warm sunlight, and the streets filled with vitality.

Although anyone might feel anxious about being forced into such an isolation zone and having to start a new life, the atmosphere on the streets showed no signs of such feelings.

Instead of anxiety, there was only a positive vibe, and the reason for this could be easily found anywhere you looked in the city.

The giant pinwheel rising in the center of the special zone.

Evidence that Golden Reapers were roaming around in abundance.

The pinwheel, made of candy, cookies, and chocolate, slowly rotated, spreading a sweet fragrance throughout the entire special zone.

“Phew.”

The girl closed her eyes and took a deep breath.

The warm sunlight seeping through the window gently caressed her face.

‘Golden Reaper scent.’

Along with it, a sun-like fragrance made her heart feel even more at ease.

When she opened her eyes and looked down, she saw a figure directing the city maintenance work.

It was James, the owner of James Research Institute.

At first glance, he looked competent and serious, but one bizarre aspect completely overturned his overall impression.

On top of James’s head sat a golden Reaper, moving both hands as if controlling his hair.

It was a scene that brought a warm smile to one’s face.

“Hehe.”

The short-haired girl let out a small laugh at the sight.

As she was enjoying the lively view outside, she suddenly felt the house was too quiet.

‘Where did Big Sister go?’

The short-haired girl turned her gaze from the window to look inside, but the house was now empty.

“Sis?”

As the short-haired girl got up and slowly walked, she found a hastily scribbled note from her sister.

<I’ll be back soon. I bought some food and put it in the fridge, eat if you’re hungry.>

Food?

What did she buy?

The short-haired girl put the note in her pocket and approached the fridge without thinking, opening its door.

At that moment, something shouted “Boo!” and an unidentified monster-like thing jumped out at her.

“Kyaaah!”

The short-haired girl screamed in shock, her face turning pale.

A few seconds later, after identifying the monster-like thing, the short-haired girl squished it vigorously with an extremely angry expression.

“Sis! I told you to stop doing that! How many times is this now?”

The short-haired girl felt like her heart dropped several times a day because her sister, who was mischievous to begin with, had been playing too many Dullahan pranks since becoming a roll cake.

“Ow, I’m getting squished!”

Even as her head was being squished, Big Sister was giggling as if it was fun.

In the usually noisy Sehee Research Institute office.

The Helmet Researcher was sitting at his desk writing a report, ignoring the commotion around him.

The title of the report the Helmet Researcher was writing appeared on the screen.

While writing a report on the Cute Dog abduction, the Helmet Researcher had discovered interesting data and was compiling it into a report.

The interesting data was that the activity range of the ‘Golden Reaper Riding a White Ogre’ almost perfectly matched the warning range of the Cute Dog.

<Considering these pieces of evidence, it is judged that the ‘Golden Reaper Riding a White Ogre’ group is strategically utilizing the abducted Cute Dog to carry out Object removal operations within Seoul.>

<Therefore, at this point, it seems unnecessary to forcibly retrieve the abducted dog.>

After finishing the report and pushing his chair back slightly, the Golden Reaper, who had been sitting crumpled in a corner with a bored expression, suddenly stood up and rushed over.

‘Is it over?’

‘It’s done, right?’

The Golden Reaper looked up at him, hopping up and down with an expectant expression.

Probably wanting to go home quickly and play together?

The Helmet Researcher glanced at the clock to check, then picked up the Golden Reaper and whispered softly.

“Yes, let’s go home.”

The Golden Reaper smiled happily and slipped into the Helmet Researcher’s shirt pocket.

Murmur murmur.

As the Helmet Researcher finished preparing to leave and slowly exited the office, he found many Sehee Research Institute employees gathered.

“Did something happen?”

Drawn by curiosity, he approached and saw elaborately decorated desserts.

Desserts adorned with ice cream, pudding, and fruits.

Of course, these weren’t particularly special treats rarely seen at Sehee Research Institute.

Sehee Research Institute always prepared all kinds of sweet foods for the Mini Reapers.

As he got closer to find out why they were all gathered, he could see the reason.

The Mini Reapers were making snacks for the institute employees.

Blue Reapers were using magic to clean the bowls, while Black Reapers were carrying empty bowls.

Golden Reapers were beautifully arranging fruits in the bowls, and an Ogre Reaper was scooping ice cream into them.

Finally, a Pudding Reaper plopped itself right in the center.

Of course, before serving, the Ogre Reaper pulled out the Pudding Reaper’s body, leaving only the pudding to be served.

A dessert made by Mini Reapers…

The Helmet Researcher suddenly felt like eating it too, so he received a dessert and ate it together with the Golden Reaper.

Om nom nom.

It was an everyday scene at Sehee Research Institute, full of small happiness.

---

Following the procession of Golden Reapers setting off on an adventure, I arrived at the Jelly Jungle.

I thought I had discovered a completely new place, but it was the Jelly Jungle?

‘Come to think of it, I’ve never seen Golden Reapers wandering around the Jelly Jungle before.’

Thinking about it, I had only occasionally seen flying Green Reapers or Orange Reapers in the Jelly Jungle.

‘Jelly!’

‘Jelly!’

Whether the Golden Reapers’ discovery was known to all Mini Reapers or not, various Mini Reapers were waddling around the Jelly Jungle, enjoying themselves in their own ways.

Using giant jelly mushrooms as trampolines.

Climbing jelly vines without touching the ground.

Flying through the sky on catapults made from jelly trees.

They were playing in truly diverse ways.

But for me, the Jelly Jungle wasn’t that new of an area.

Just as I was about to turn back, feeling a bit bored, I noticed some Golden Reapers.

Their procession continued forward, crossing the Jelly Jungle.

As if the Jelly Jungle wasn’t their true destination.

Intrigued by this, I kept following them and eventually discovered a structure I had never seen before.

‘!’

It was a pastry structure awkwardly situated in the midst of the jelly-filled jungle.

The structure spiraled deep into the ground, somewhat reminiscent of an ‘antlion pit’.

It also slightly resembled the space created by the Man with a Halo.

Moreover, its scale was quite massive.

It was so deep that the bottom couldn’t be seen, and its width was as large as a major stadium.

I joined the Golden Reapers, waddling down the spiral heading underground.

Continuously, deep underground.

As I walked down the increasingly dark spiral, I felt a bit excited, as if I was on an adventure.

How far had we gone like that?

The spiral path digging into the ground continued in pitch-black darkness without a single point of light.

Perhaps because of this, the Golden Reapers occasionally looked back to check if I was still there.

Were they scared?

I smiled slightly, finding their behavior a bit cute.

But this darkness was somewhat strange.

It was so dark even though you could see the bright sky if you turned your gaze upward.

‘What an interesting phenomenon.’

When I looked straight ahead again, it was like seeing golden stars twinkling in the night sky.

The dark passage was the night sky, and the faintly glowing Golden Reapers were starlight.

Like sailors guided by starlight, I followed the brave Golden Reapers’ lead down the dark adventure path.

As we continued, the Golden Reapers began to exude wills of pain.

‘Mom!’

‘Mommy!’

Startled, I instantly teleported to the Golden Reaper at the very front.

The place I arrived at was the deepest part where not a single light could be seen.

It was pitch black, with no sky visible even when looking up.

At the end of this deepest part, Golden Reapers were collapsed on the ground, curled up with their heads in their hands.

I quickly gathered the Golden Reapers into my arms.

Then I felt a liquid coating the Golden Reapers’ bodies.

Hurriedly wiping off the liquid, I saw that the parts touched by it had turned white as if bleached.

‘This is?’

It was the grayish liquid I remembered seeing with the Black Giant’s body.

It was the Ardent Wish.

The thing that had bound the Black Giant’s body to the ground.

Moreover, this Ardent Wish was slowly seeping out in this deepest part.

‘Maaaa.’

And from the Ardent Wish sloshing on the floor, a small silhouette was slowly walking out.
