Seoul Object Story
Chapter 349: Aftermath of the Orb of Wishes (4)

The peaceful afternoon streets of Jongno-gu transformed into chaos in an instant.

What would normally be bustling with tourists and office workers had now become a pandemonium of terrified crowds.

First came the thunderous boom echoing from the direction of Gwanghwamun.

Then followed the emergency alert tones blaring from phones in every direction.

Beep beep beep! Beep beep beep!

The same sound ringing simultaneously from everyone’s mobile phones on the street had an eerie quality to it.

<[Safety Alert] Emergency Object Warning.>

<[Jongno-gu] Special-grade Object Appearance>

As people checked the disaster text and began fleeing en masse, ear-piercing siren sounds started blaring from all directions.

Amidst the chaos of sirens wailing and people frantically escaping, a thunderous boom mixed with the siren sounds.

Boom.

At that, the gazes of some fleeing people turned in that direction.

A distant high-rise building was crumbling as if it were made of paper.

In an instant, a cloud of dust shot up into the sky, draining the color from the faces of those who witnessed the scene.

“Run!”

With someone’s shout, the crowd began moving as one.

People ran for their lives down streets they normally strolled leisurely.

Women in high heels kicked off their shoes and ran barefoot, while men in suits loosened their ties as they gasped for breath.

Everything on the street was utter chaos.

Traffic lights became meaningless, and cars stood haphazardly stopped on the roads.

With the continued sounds of collapse, the city seemed to be falling into ever greater confusion.

But with one person’s shout, a strange sense of relief began to spread through the city.

“It’s the Golden Reaper!”

The Golden Reaper Knights, riding ornately decorated White Hungry Ghosts and wielding Blue Spears, charged through the crowds.

Moving against the flow of people and plunging through the dust clouds, what the Golden Reapers encountered was a giant, translucent butterfly.

The butterfly was simply flapping its wings slowly as it flew, but that alone was causing the city to crumble into ruins.

With one flap of the butterfly’s wings, surrounding objects would crumble like sand.

With another flap, those objects would return to their original form.

The Golden Reapers analyzed this strange phenomenon in their own way.

‘Is it similar to the Sprout Sibling’s ability?’

‘It’s similar!’

To the Golden Reapers, this butterfly seemed to have the ability to wreak havoc with time.

As the butterfly moved, some parts would weather to the point of erosion as if fast-forwarded to the future, some parts remained in the present, while others took on forms from the past.

With time fractured in such a manner, man-made buildings couldn’t withstand it and collapsed.

It was a powerful Object ability befitting a ‘First Sword-grade’, as interpreted by the Blue Reaper, who played the role of Merlin in the Golden Reaper Round Table.

‘Charge!’

The Golden Reapers simultaneously cloaked themselves in the flames that fueled the White Hungry Ghost Objects and charged towards the butterfly.

The Blue Spears created by the Blue Reaper flew towards the butterfly’s body, but the translucent butterfly simply let the spear tips and flames pass through its body.

‘It’s not working!’

‘It’s strong!’

Ignoring the Golden Reaper Knights, the butterfly kept flying endlessly towards where people were.

‘Oh no….’

‘The humans are in danger!’

The flustered Golden Reapers threw even their spears to the ground and used overlapping, but it didn’t work on the butterfly.

The Golden Reapers sat on the ground with expressions like they’d lost their country, preparing to call for Mom.

‘Mom, come quickly.’

‘Mom, are you nearby?’

At that moment, a massive slash came down from the sky towards the butterfly.

‘Mom?’

A slash of similar scale to the space tearing Mom had used.

But unlike Mom, who would mess up the sky, ground, and everything around, this was a refined slash that cleanly cut only the butterfly.

‘The First Sword has come!’

‘She’s gotten even stronger!’

The Golden Reapers’ gazes all turned towards the rooftop of a tall building nearby.

There stood the Golden Reaper First Sword with her hair tied in a ponytail.

Unlike before, she held an evenly trimmed Firewood Sword, not rough-hewn, as she stared intently at where the butterfly had been.

As if the butterfly hadn’t died.

‘Ah!’

‘The butterfly is still alive!’

When the Golden Reapers turned their heads, the transparent butterfly that had been cut in half was now whole again, rising once more.

Watching the regenerating butterfly, the Golden Reaper First Sword could figure out the principle by which it had survived.

‘Nothing special, just ordinary regeneration. In that case….’

The Golden Reaper First Sword observed the tangled threads of time and space around the butterfly as she slowly raised her sword to shoulder height.

Then, smoothly spinning her body once, she swung the sword horizontally.

‘Void Slash!’

A black line appeared tracing the sword’s trajectory, and it began to swallow the giant butterfly.

It continued until the transparent butterfly was completely sucked into the other side of space.

It resembled Mom’s black sphere of ‘Kkyuk’.

---

With grand dreams of Outer God Auto-Hunting, I first summoned the Golden Reaper First Sword.

She had come willingly last time, so I waited with anticipation, but an unexpected answer came back.

‘Busy.’

Gasp!

No way.

Even the Golden Reaper First Sword has gone astray.

Feeling annoyance rising in my heart, I teleported to where the Golden Reaper First Sword was.

What I saw was the First Sword rushing off somewhere busily and a giant butterfly Object suddenly protruding into the city.

The butterfly was clearly a Special-grade Object of considerable rank at a glance.

‘Ah. She really was busy….’

I felt a bit sorry, having gotten annoyed on my own.

I left a will saying ‘I’ll call you next time’ to the First Sword and returned to the Mini Reaper Garden.

Among the Mini Reapers, the Orange Crown Reaper and the First Sword were the highest in rank, so I had wanted to experiment with them first, but if they’re busy, it can’t be helped.

Somehow, it felt like today wasn’t my day.

Can’t be helped.

I’ll have to do all the experiments together next time.

---

Mini Reaper Garden, Yellow Reaper Theater.

I was sitting in a theater seat, watching a play based on this recent incident.

The play ended with my brilliant and cool punch as the finale.

The last scene was a magnificent recreation of the battle from that time.

I applauded, giving praise for the wonderful play, but the Mini Reapers tilted their heads.

‘?’

‘Mom’s punch is different?’

‘Fake play?’

I had asked for the play’s content to be changed a little, but unexpectedly, the Mini Reapers noticed right away.

I had only changed the punching motion very, very slightly.

Even if you added up all the changes in arm, leg, and waist length, it wouldn’t even reach 1 meter!

I had even threatened the Yellow Reaper to record a cool Mom image….

Is the competent Mom propaganda a failure?

The Yellow Reaper, at a loss as it faced protests of a fake play from the Mini Reapers, looked to me for help with pleading eyes, but I pretended not to see and left my seat.

Hehe.

After leaving the Yellow Reaper Theater like that, I was walking thump-thump across the Marshmallow Plains when I saw Golden Reapers rushing off somewhere in a crowd.

‘They say a new land has appeared!’

‘New exploration!’

‘New snacks!’

It was a long line of Golden Reapers formed to go find new lands to adventure in.

Come to think of it, I haven’t been touring the Mini Reaper Garden much lately.

There’s just one reason.

The Mini Reaper Garden has gotten too big….

Even without new areas appearing, it had been slowly expanding, and now it was so vast that it was bothersome to walk around.

‘Mom, let’s go too!’

‘Adventure!’

Some Golden Reapers had climbed onto my body and were urging me to come along.

I started slowly following the procession of Golden Reapers with lots of them clinging to my body.

---

The late afternoon’s golden sunlight seeped into the backyard of Sehee Research Institute.

As long shadows cast mysterious patterns on the lawn, Cloud Fish had descended from the sky in droves.

The Cloud Fish zipping around the backyard like a playground were meant to carry Mini Reapers all over the world.

Amidst the many Mini Reapers getting on and off the Cloud Fish, there sat a rare Mini Reaper.

It was a Sprout Reaper with a tiny fruit on its head.

In the Sprout Reaper’s arms was an even tinier Mini Sprout Reaper.

‘I’m going!’

The Mini Sprout Reaper was struggling to break free from the Sprout Reaper’s embrace, while the Sprout Reaper was using all its strength to hold onto the Mini Sprout Reaper.

‘I’m going to find my Attachment Human!’

The Mini Sprout Reaper, perhaps unable to choose an Attachment Human among the humans at Sehee Research Institute, was insisting on taking a trip riding a Cloud Fish.

After struggling like that for a while, the Sprout Reaper let out a small sigh, plucked off its fruit, and put it in the mouth of a passing Cloud Fish.

Seeing this, the Mini Sprout Reaper walked over with a delighted expression, climbed onto that Cloud Fish, and exuded its will.

‘Depart!’

At that, the Cloud Fish shot up into the sky at high speed and began rapidly moving away from Sehee Research Institute.

And so began the Mini Sprout Reaper’s adventure.
