Chapter 333: Epilogue of the World at the End (2)
As I pulled on space, the Tower of the End, which had been full of evolution fluid, began to recede.
The unpleasant smell of oil faded away, and a familiar scent drew closer.
A sweet aroma of hot chocolate mixed with marshmallow.
When I opened my eyes, an endless marshmallow field came into view.
‘I’m back!’
Though the time spent in the Tower of the End wasn’t that long, perhaps because it was a place filled with the smell of oil, it felt like I had returned after a very long time.
I collapsed onto the marshmallows as if falling.
Soft and warm.
As I lay there, Mini Reapers began to swarm in from all over the garden.
‘It’s Mom!’
The Golden Reapers climbed onto my body and stared down at my face, exuding their will.
‘I’m sorry I couldn’t come help!’
A Golden Reaper clinging to my cheek seemed to be one of those who had been headbutting the blocked garden gate, trying to get through when I was fighting the spider.
I slowly stroked its seemingly unharmed forehead.
If it had been human, it probably would have collapsed with a cracked skull from trying so hard…
Well, due to physical immunity, there wasn’t even a trace of the headbutting.
Beep-!
Beeeep-!
When I turned my gaze, Black Reapers from different origins were holding hands and beeping at each other.
Black Reapers from the Immutable Sphere and Black Reapers from the Tower of the End.
To me, they looked exactly the same, but can they distinguish where they’re from among themselves?
Do they differentiate by the intonation of the ‘beep’ sound or something?
‘Well done!’
‘You worked hard!’
And as they praised each other, they reached out to pat each other’s heads vigorously.
At that moment, Golden Reapers burst into the scene where the long-separated Black Reapers were beeping and reuniting.
‘New siblings?’
‘Our siblings have multiplied!’
It was a wave of Golden Reapers with expressions as bright as the sun.
The Golden Reapers grabbed each of the new Black Reapers and tilted their heads.
‘Are you hungry?’
‘The fuel is dry.’
Then the Golden Reapers made extremely sympathetic expressions and hugged the Black Reapers tightly.
The Golden Reapers pressed their hearts together and pushed in lots of fuel.
It was a plump and soft fuel exchange.
The Golden Reapers and Black Reapers divided the fuel equally, then held hands and giggled.
‘Let’s go!’
Then they paired up and began to spread out into the Mini Reaper Garden.
If I had to name it, would it be ‘Mini Reaper Garden, Golden Reaper Tour Guide’?
As the Golden Reapers, who seemed twice as noisy as the Black Reapers despite not making ‘beep’ sounds, all left at once, I noticed a group of quiet children gathered in a corner.
A small blue hat-shaped lump nestled in the arms of the pink girl.
The Blue Idol Reaper who had been kidnapped to the tower and other Blue Reapers were hugging each other tightly.
They clung to each other for a long time, whimpering.
Why are they so affectionate?
Other Mini Reapers weren’t this emotional, I think.
Fortunately, after some time passed, the clump of Blue Reapers dissolved.
The sentimental atmosphere dissipated, and they seemed to return to their usual Blue Reaper demeanor.
The Blue Idol Reaper standing on the pink girl’s head, showing off its attachment human.
The other Blue Reapers repeatedly exclaiming ‘Amazing!’ as they watched.
And the pink girl smiling awkwardly.
Looking at the pink girl, I felt a new worry arise.
Since I brought her from the ‘Tower of the End’ in a completely different dimension, isn’t she essentially an alien?
What should I do with this alien?
She doesn’t look well-nourished, probably from living in the tower.
Should I take her to a hospital?
The problem is that she might be a completely different type of life form, just with a similar appearance.
Plus, her language seems different.
When I occasionally hear her speak, it sounds like she’s using the language of the alchemists.
It’s getting complicated.
I don’t know.
I gave up thinking and told the Golden Reapers to call someone who could help.
Yerini, Sehee, Seo-ah, James.
Anyone, come and solve this!
Hehe.
James Tower on the outskirts of Songpa District.
James sank deep into the chair in the situation room, his face showing clear signs of fatigue.
On the hologram screen in front of him, the latest investigation results about the black planet were being continuously updated.
As he rubbed his eyes and stared at the screen, his expression grew increasingly serious.
The first report caught his attention.
Under the title , a graph showing the planet’s size increase over time was displayed.
The subtle but clear upward curve made James furrow his brow.
Turning to the next page, a report titled appeared.
A series of high-resolution images were lined up, each photo marked with various graphs and measurement results.
“So all detection equipment except optical methods shows ‘no signal’. Just like the Mini Moon.”
James slowly exhaled and moved on to the next report.
The third report was even more ominous.
Under the title , complex equations and graphs were spread out.
It was nearly impossible to measure the movement of an object that doesn’t physically exist, but by synthesizing various indirect indicators, a hypothesis was presented that the black planet was slowly approaching Earth.
And at the end of the report was the conclusion that if this ‘virtual speed’ calculation was correct, it would collide with Earth in just half a year.
James’s expression was quite stiff as he confirmed that conclusion.
Finally, a report sent from the American headquarters titled filled the screen.
This report included detailed statistical data comparing the size changes of the black planet with the frequency of spatial loss incidents reported worldwide.
James wore a grave expression as he looked at the graph showing a high correlation between the two variables.
And just as James was about to close the reports, an urgent message was received.
<Abnormal behavior of ‘Nameless’ observed.>
<Cases of not appearing when named incorrectly, or appearing but remaining still.>
“….”
After a long silence, James picked up the remote control.
Click.
With the sound of the remote, the hologram screen turned off.
He muttered with a deep sigh.
“It’s worrying.”
His voice was mixed with fatigue and concern.
James got up from his chair and walked to where an elaborately decorated briefcase was placed.
He opened the bag with a practiced motion and took out two books from inside.
They were ‘Relic No. 0’ and its recently written interpretation.
James slowly examined ‘Relic No. 0’ just in case, but nothing had changed.
“The appearance of that black planet isn’t written in ‘Relic No. 0’ either.”
“And there was nothing about ‘Nameless’ too.”
“Was it not a perfect prophecy book after all? Or could there be some variable I don’t know about?”
As James was sealing ‘Relic No. 0’ back into the bag, he noticed a Golden Reaper wriggling and grabbing onto the hem of his pants.
The Golden Reaper, climbing up James as if it had some urgent business, stood on James’s shoulder and tugged at his ear.
‘Mom is calling!’
‘She says it’s urgent!’
Seeing the seemingly urgent appearance of the Golden Reaper, James moved it to the exclusive table for Golden Reapers.
On the Golden Reaper exclusive table were various toys, pudding, and a Golden Reaper communication button.
As James released the Golden Reaper onto the table, it walked over with a bright face, ate a piece of jelly, and stood in front of the button.
Then, spreading all five fingers wide and raising its right hand high, it pressed the button firmly.
The screen then displayed text in the ‘Golden Reaper Script’ that James had created.
<Mom is calling!>
A round, golden font.
The button the Golden Reaper had pressed was the one indicating that the Gray Reaper was calling.
After pressing the button, the Golden Reaper raised its arms in celebration and exuded its will.
‘Mom is calling!’
James smiled slightly at this sight and brought a finger to his lips.
“The existence of this button is a secret from the Gray Reaper.”
The Golden Reaper nodded, covering its mouth with both hands.
Hehe.
The Golden Reaper laughed as if playing a secret game.
“So, a summons from the Gray Reaper.”
James harbored a small expectation upon receiving the Gray Reaper’s call.
‘Perhaps there might be a solution to this incident.’
A small hope that this call might be related to Nameless or the black planet.
