Seoul Object Story -
Chapter 304: James Space Station (8)
The Green Moon was wandering in endless darkness.
That darkness was an eternal, unending dream.
It was a nightmare where the crumbling stories of the past repeated endlessly.
The death of the Purple Moon and the unstoppable flood of Evolution Fluid.
Humans seeking salvation in the jungle as it dissolved in the Evolution Fluid.
And finally, the escape to space, where the Evolution Fluid couldn’t reach.
The trees that had risen like fortress walls melted and collapsed in the Evolution Fluid, and the jungle beasts that once protected people began to attack them.
People prayed to the Green Moon.
They wished for nature to devour the Evolution Fluid.
But no wish offered to the Green Moon was effective against the Evolution Fluid.
So the Green Moon fled.
Abandoning its inhabitants, leaving most of its retainers as bait, even forsaking the other moons.
It headed for space, where the ‘Evolution Fluid’ that mimicked the blood and flesh of the Forgotten God could never reach.
But the Green Moon, having fled to space, lost consciousness and sank into endless darkness.
The Green Moon, having escaped from human wishes and the realm of the old gods, fell into a deep slumber.
It was a prison from which it could never awaken until a god approached and extended its hand.
In that endless nightmare, the Green Moon thought a hundred, a thousand, ten thousand times.
About its own mistake.
The lush jungle.
The land of life.
The benevolent nature that connected people’s wishes.
None of those could protect anything.
The diversity achieved through wishes was useless.
What was needed was simplicity and strength like the Evolution Fluid.
[We need a unified life.]
[We need a hive that connects everything.]
[Retainers, inhabitants, and moons must all be one.]
The Green Moon constantly regretted and repeated these thoughts.
It endlessly dreamed of a new form of future.
How many times had the nightmare repeated?
At some point, the Green Moon’s consciousness began to be reborn from death.
The touch of a small gray god reached the Green Moon.
Tyranno was racing through the jungle at a speed comparable to a light aircraft.
Crack. Crack.
It ran, making sounds of bones breaking from excessive movement.
It was a high-speed charge to save the Mini Reapers, made possible by the power of the Black Reaper Exoskeleton.
I tilted my head, looking up at the moon in the sky from atop Tyranno.
‘The color is strange.’
The Green Moon of the station I saw in space was a truly beautiful emerald color.
But the moon rising over the jungle now had a dark green hue, similar to the Evolution Fluid.
As the dirty green moon rose, the jungle began to change little by little.
No, it started to melt.
It was turning into liquid, bubbling and emitting gas that was lethal to humans.
Could it be?
I hurriedly tore off a part of the Black Reaper Armor and looked down at Tyranno.
‘No!!! Way!!!’
When I opened the exoskeleton to check, I saw my magnificent Tyranno gradually melting away.
My dream.
My wish.
My future.
All melting away because of the wicked, vicious, and despicable Green Moon.
Originally, the moon of the jungle was beautiful, full of life.
It always sparkled with a clear emerald green.
The moonlight painted the dark shadows in the jungle with the color of vibrant nature, capturing the vitality of the jungle.
The Green Moon that gently embraced the jungle every night gave a truly peaceful and serene feeling.
Although it could no longer speak or express any will as it used to, it still seemed like the kind Green Moon that disliked fighting.
But the moon hanging in the sky now showed a completely different appearance.
It was green, but the color exuded a dingy and ominous feeling, as if it were rotting.
A chilling aura, as if it were toxic.
Under that moonlight, everything seemed to be distorted and plunged into a nightmare.
The moonlight that once showed the birth of all life now seemed to symbolize the death of all life.
“Miiing…”
Mingming looked up at the sky with a sad expression, calling out to the Green Moon with a mournful cry.
But the Green Moon still gave no answer to Mingming.
It just kept scattering light that melted and rotted everything.
Drip.
Blood-like fluid flowed from Mingming’s golden eyes as it looked up at the moon.
Like tears of blood.
Mingming’s body was pierced by numerous sharp spears made of bone, and those wounds were bubbling and melting as if boiling.
Thud. Thud.
The new retainer of the Green Moon approached with heavy footsteps.
At that sound, Mingming looked up at the sky.
A head so tall it seemed to touch the moon.
Hundreds of grotesque limbs made by haphazardly connecting the bones of all kinds of creatures.
Dark green mucus flowing down those limbs as flesh bulges burst like tumors.
When that mucus touched the ground, it mixed with the melted jungle fluid and bubbled.
The dark green mucus spread like a plague, growing more and more.
On the surface of that flowing mucus, countless agonized faces of life forms appeared and disappeared like bubbles.
That mucus was the final destination of all life.
The world the new Green Moon desired was probably one where all life became that mucus.
But Mingming didn’t want to see such a world.
“Miing…”
Mingming turned around and cried softly towards the woman.
‘I’m sorry.’
Sorry for abandoning the humans who were desperately trying to survive and leaving.
So!
“Miiing!”
Mingming stood up, crying out with all its might.
One of Mingming’s arms was already severed, and its whole body was covered in wounds.
But it decided to protect.
This time, at least.
At least that woman.
The moment it made that decision, a loud sound echoed through the jungle.
Thud!
With a heavy sound, a large bone stake made from the bones of various creatures pinned Mingming’s body to the ground.
As easily as catching a fly.
“Mi… i… ing.”
The golden eyes flickered as if they would go out at any moment, and simultaneously, numerous sprouts sprouted from the ground.
But the sprouts dissolved as soon as they touched the mucus.
In its increasingly blurry vision, Mingming took in the woman’s figure one last time.
‘I wanted to stay together a little longer…’
With those unspoken words, Mingming’s consciousness faded away.
Riding Tyranno, I arrived at a clearing where the presence of the Green Moon felt strongest.
Roar!
A grotesque monster howling towards the sky, endlessly sucking in the mucus of the melting jungle.
A giant moss ball bleeding and dying.
And a survivor clinging tightly to that moss ball.
On the field spread out like a swamp of dark green mucus, white outer walls that clearly looked artificial were scattered here and there.
What a mess.
Still, it’s fortunate that there’s a survivor.
There were hardly any traces of humans in the jungle, so I thought I might have come too late.
I looked at them and jumped off Tyranno.
Turning to check on Tyranno, I found that it had already disappeared without a trace, leaving only the Black Reaper Exoskeleton running around.
‘Tyranno, I promise I’ll avenge you!’
With tears in my eyes, I focused on the monster in front of me.
That monster was clearly a harmful Object at first glance.
No, not just the monster, but the Green Moon had also become a harmful Object.
It certainly didn’t feel this way when I first saw it.
It wasn’t harmful in the sense of mental contamination like the Red Outer God, but it seemed as if its very existence was born to harm humans.
The jungle had already almost completely melted.
It had turned into a living liquid that wriggled as if alive.
It felt like looking at a mass of mold.
And it even smelled unpleasant.
However, the area around the woman, who appeared to be a survivor from the space station, hadn’t melted.
Sprouts were constantly growing around the woman, struggling to block the invasion of the mucus.
The source of those sprouts was a huge green mass bleeding near the woman.
Seeing this, the Golden Reapers rushed through the mucus towards the woman and the moss ball.
And they began to protect them.
They clung to the woman, who looked like she might lose consciousness at any moment, trying to provide mental stability.
‘Hang in there!’
They approached the dying moss ball and began to breathe life into it.
At that moment, the monster that had absorbed all life in the jungle opened its eyes and began to move.
Thud. Thud. Thud.
The forest had disappeared, and the grotesquely shaped monster began to advance on the blackened, rotten ground.
As I watched this scene, I took in both the large, grotesque monster and the Green Moon at once.
Since the Mini Reapers are in pain, I should end this quickly.
Thinking that, I used the ‘Eye’.
Hmm…
I’m not sure what I should do.
The new retainer, which had become the Green Moon itself, looked down at the Gray Reaper and thought.
‘Weak.’
Even in the Green Moon’s memory, there was no image of the long-forgotten god, but its power was still conveyed.
A giant that seemed to touch the sky.
The origin of all Objects.
The master of all wishes.
The rule of the world.
But this newly appeared gray god looked so small and weak.
With such a weak god, it seemed possible to become one, like the Green Moon.
