Seoul Object Story
Chapter 278: Free City Alliance (11)

Lively music and a joyful atmosphere.

Dazzling holograms captivated the eyes, while cheerful laughter and songs filled the ears.

Truly, a festival!

!

But amidst that merriment, a sense of foreboding arose, prompting me to turn my gaze skyward.

The Golden Reapers, who had been dancing excitedly, also seemed to sense something amiss, their faces turning serious as they looked up.

However, looking at the sky revealed only holograms glittering so brightly they hurt the eyes.

The sky was completely invisible.

Like a giant ceiling, holograms covered the entire city sky.

There were many holograms, but I didn’t think there were this many…

As I continued looking up, hologram Tyrannosauruses with jetpacks began flying around.

My eyes were drawn to them, and it was slightly amusing, but…

It felt like they were trying to attract my interest, which only made it seem more suspicious.

So, I sharpened my fingers and slashed towards the sky.

Zzzzaaak!

The sky and holograms tore apart in the shape of five fingers.

!

And beyond them, a large, brilliant orange moon was visible.

As the orange moonlight began to shine down on the city, the festive atmosphere vanished instantly.

The laughing people stood expressionlessly, like puppets devoid of will.

The exciting music stopped, replaced by an endless silence.

The machines that had roamed around sprinkling marshmallows like rain halted, turning their heads towards me.

Stillness.

The festival grounds, now shrouded in silence, were unbelievably quiet.

But that quietness didn’t last long.

The people who had been enjoying the festival bared their teeth and charged towards Mecha Tyranno.

As their charge began, Tyranno started showcasing its enhanced combat power.

Flames spewed from its mouth, lasers shot from its eyes.

Tyranno-missiles launched from its back, tearing into nearby enemies.

But despite Tyranno’s fierce fighting, the number of enemies was overwhelming.

I knew how this situation would end.

If I didn’t help, Tyranno would soon be overwhelmed.

Two Golden Reapers couldn’t protect Tyranno.

If the fight continued, it would gradually break down and eventually be destroyed.

Sorry, Tyranno.

I wanted to help Tyranno, but the Orange Reaper was in danger.

To cause such a powerful phenomenon using a mini Reaper’s firewood, one had to wager their very existence.

Time was short, so I had to leave without even summoning the mini Reaper garden.

But Tyranno, even amidst the fierce battle, seemed to briefly bare its teeth towards me, as if smiling.

Seeing those magnificent fangs, I leaped through space, following the Orange Reaper’s trail.

***

Central Tower, top floor.

The room filled with blood vanished, replaced by a scene that felt like being high above the clouds in a tranquil sky.

An endless sea of clouds, and orange moonlight shining down upon it.

Though not the sun, the moonlight felt incredibly warm.

On that sea of clouds, Qing was shouting.

“Please. Please.”

Qing hugged the Orange Reaper, whose size was shrinking little by little like a burning candle, tears streaming down her face.

Qing didn’t know what the suddenly appeared sea of clouds was, but she definitely felt that the Orange Reaper was overexerting itself.

Did Qing’s feelings get through?

The Orange Reaper’s color was gradually deepening.

Sensing this, the Orange Reaper chuckled inwardly, eyes closed.

As expected of my attached human.

As Qing’s firewood power grew stronger bit by bit, the Orange Reaper was escaping the danger to its life.

But the Orange Reaper slightly opened its eyes, reached out a trembling hand towards Qing’s face.

And the moment Qing grasped that hand, it deliberately relaxed its head and hand, going limp.

As if dead.

“No!”

Against the backdrop of Qing’s cries, the Colossus, caught in the Orange Reaper’s spatial domination, began to rise.

“Impressive. Can a mere derivative of the Gray Reaper truly create a moon?”

The Colossus looked at the orange moon, trembling uncertainly like a reflection on water, and smiled victoriously.

“But it’s not perfect. Unstable, as if it could shatter at any moment.”

The Colossus clenched its massive fist and began to slowly approach the defenseless Qing.

“Now I will absorb your blood and become a complete Object.”

And it brought that fist down towards the frantically crying Qing.

Thud!

But the blow was blocked by endlessly swarming cloud meat.

And like a school of sardines forming the shape of a giant fish, they began to form the shape of a large Orange Reaper.

Complete? A complete Object?

The completed giant Orange Reaper projected a mocking will towards the Colossus.

At that moment, one of the Colossus’s feet began to slowly disintegrate like a modular toy.

“Wh… Why?”

The Colossus tried to use ‘Probability Domination’ to hold its crumbling foot together, but it was futile.

Kkigigik. Kkigigik.

With the hideous sound of clashing abilities, the Colossus’s ‘Probability Domination’ began to dissipate like a mirage.

The giant cloud Orange Reaper floated leisurely towards the bewildered Colossus.

So insignificant compared to Mother’s ability.

Along with the low will emanating from the Orange Reaper, the Colossus’s remaining foot also crumbled.

Without such powerless probability manipulation!

When the cloud Orange Reaper poked the Colossus’s shoulder, one massive arm, like a demolition hammer, crumbled away.

You can’t even properly support your own body!

And with another poke, the remaining arm also collapsed.

With its arms and legs crumbled, the remaining torso swayed as if about to be crushed at any moment.

As the metals that firmly protected its body collapsed, they began to tear apart the Colossus’s last remaining human parts.

The heart, half-replaced with Golden Horn, which remained to handle human desires.

And the brain, already riddled with holes by the finger Objects.

Those fragile parts couldn’t hold the crumbling body of the Colossus together.

And so, like an orange being squeezed in a machine, the Colossus’s brain and heart were crushed into juice.

***

I leaped through space urgently to save the Orange Reaper.

But by the time I reached the Orange Reaper, the situation was already over.

The metal heap, which had been a harmful Object, was already dead, brain matter and blood leaking out.

And in the corner of the room sat the Orange Reaper and its attached human.

The Orange Reaper’s attached human, crying endlessly, tears streaming down.

The Orange Reaper, held in her arms, eyes closed as if dead.

Perhaps because it was an Orange Reaper, smart like me, its attached human was also special.

Not comparable to Yerin, but a girl emitting immense emotion.

Thanks to that, the Orange Reaper’s skin was full of firewood, glowing healthily, and its face had become slightly plump.

Except for the fact that the Orange Reaper’s size had shrunk a bit from using too much existence to summon the moon, there were no problems.

Phew, thought a mini Reaper died.

Relieved that things turned out well, my thoughts suddenly turned to Mecha Tyranno.

So I broke through the wall and looked outside, but the city was already in chaos.

People whose brains were partially replaced by Objects had turned into zombie-like creatures, attacking others indiscriminately.

Their numbers were greater than expected, throwing the city into complete pandemonium.

Where is it?

Mecha Tyranno’s presence had already vanished.

But I couldn’t give up hope.

It must be alive.

It was fighting well.

It must surely be alive.

But the Mecha Tyranno I found was already torn to shreds.

No!!

Anger over Tyranno’s death filled my heart.

But that anger lost its way.

Roar!

Like Tyranno, I roared inwardly, surrendering my body to the fury rising from the firewood.

***

Deep beneath the Free City Alliance.

There, three giant finger-worms, which usually barely moved, were stirring.

They were the finger-worms symbolizing the three Families, effectively coordinating and ruling the city.

The city’s situation was reflected on the worms’ monitors.

On the screen, a giant water golem, tall enough to reach the Central Tower, was performing windmills.

And beside it, a Black Reaper just as large swung a massive greatsword, leading the city towards its end.

[Evacuate! Evacuate! Evacuate!]

[Must escape before the Gray Reaper discovers this place.]

[Gray Reaper variable adjusted upwards. Must not repeat this failure next time.]

The grotesque worms, covered in clinging wires, crawled out of the tank with their heavy bodies and began to burrow into the ground.

Flash.

At that moment, from the surface down to the underground.

Into the blood-red tank, red lightning struck.

<Found you.>

A monster whose will alone made the atmosphere tremble.

The Gray Reaper.

Carrying golden glowing ‘eyes’, it burned with expressionless fury.
