Seoul Object Story -
Chapter 106: The Cruise Ship (7)
As I slowly trod towards where I felt the Blue Reaper’s presence, an urgent signal suddenly pulsed from it.
< A suspicious Object has appeared! >
The message seemed frantic, almost intimidating.
The moment I received the signal, I dashed forward. When I arrived, I found the Blue Reaper in pain.
My vision instantly narrowed; I didn’t even notice the giant old woman or the mysterious cave.
I completely forgot about my search for the ‘Blue Witch’s Mirror’, and manifested the garden into reality.
Just like that, the Blue Reaper ended up in my hands. Its eyes were tightly closed and it was trembling.
Above it, letters kept appearing and disappearing. The Blue Reaper was conveying her pain, repeatedly writing, “It hurts.”
I pushed some of my flames into it, and its torn arm slowly began to regrow.
The Blue Reaper was quite different from the Golden Reaper. For one, it could use magic and fly in the air. However, its healing speed was significantly slower than that of the Golden Reaper.
Moreover, the giant old crone was not an Object strong enough to bypass our physical immunity. Judging by the injury, it seemed the Blue Reaper lacked that ability.
The expressions on the faces of the Golden Reapers around me were like those of older siblings looking at their easily injured, delicate younger sibling.
When its arms fully regenerated, the Blue Reaper fell into my palm like a doll with its strings cut. Its face twitched and frowned as if it were having a nightmare.
I gently patted its head until its expression relaxed.
Then, I placed the Blue Reaper on top of the marshmallows, reversed the manifestation of the garden, and let the scenery of the shore reappear.
Rest there, I’ll get your revenge right away…
For the Blue Reaper to sleep comfortably, I decided I should kill all the old women on the shore.
Well, there was no need to use spatial manipulation for Objects like them.
The cocoa, marshmallows, and sweets that filled the world disappeared, replaced by the dark night sky and the large lake.
One large old woman and three others similar in size to the old woman I had dealt with a few moments ago.
Since it mentioned sisters, these four must be those ‘sisters.’
The old women, who had been trembling at the sight of me, seemed to relax when the familiar lakeside returned.
The giant old woman who made eye contact with me spoke nervously.
[ I didn’t know that little thing was one of your family members. Please forgive me… ]
No matter where I looked between the old woman and the giant old woman, I couldn’t see a mirror.
Are those old women, not the Blue Witches?
As I stared in silence, the giant old woman’s tone turned overbearing.
[ You don’t mean to go against Blue Moon over something like this, don’t you? ]
She spread her hands wide, and the blue moon reflected on the water, filling it with light.
The intensity of the blue moon’s power was unmistakable.
[ The blue moon is imperishable. You can’t not feel its power. ]
Her servile expression was replaced by a triumphant one, as if I had no choice but to back down because of the blue moon’s power.
Why is that thing so proud?
Even if she summoned a thousand Hungry Ghosts, I couldn’t forgive her for hurting our weak youngest.
I had nothing to give it but eternal destruction.
With a sour expression, I summoned the Golden Reapers.
The old women were flustered at the sight of the Golden Reaper, looking everywhere in a panic.
[ Foolish sisters! Don’t panic! ]
The giant old woman scolded them.
With teeth as sharp as shark teeth, she growled and snapped.
[ Are you really going to fight us? As long as the blue moon exists, witches are immortal. You will regret this!! You and everything you hold dear will forever fear the night and the shadows!!! ]
Despite the giant old woman’s ominous warning, the Golden Reapers continued to advance, one step at a time.
The giant old woman cursed loudly.
[ You all will melt into a puddle of blood!! ]
The Golden Reapers were struck by a wave of black curses, but it had no effect. But the curse just dispersed upon touching their skin.
[ You will all be unable to see anything. ]
[ Your limbs will all twist, and you won’t be able to move properly! ]
The old woman’s rugged hands waved in the air, cursing the Golden Reapers.
Her face, twisted with anger and fear, was in stark contrast to the Golden Reaper’s calm expressions.
The old women tried begging and cursing, but the Golden Reapers steadily moved forward(with their small little steps).
Finally, the old women were cornered, unable to move.
I clapped my hands.
Clap-!
At my signal, the Golden Reapers rushed forward all at once.
Perhaps because it was for the Blue Reaper’s revenge, they were faster and more intense than usual.
[ You will not be able to hurt me! ]
[ You will howl in pain from even the weakest of winds! ]
Even as they were torn apart by the Golden Reaper, the old women did not give up and kept cursing.
[ Aaaah! ]
[ Spare me! ]
Gradually, however, the frequency of the curses decreased, replaced by screams, until eventually, no sound came from them at all.
All that remained was a miserable pit of blood.
[ You will regret it… ]
A final curse flowed from the pool of blood, but it was as useless as before.
Agent Black slowly regained his senses in the quiet silence.
Moonlight filtered through the ceiling, casting a pale glow, while crystals inside the cave emitted a soft light.
It was the same cave where he had lost his consciousness, but the atmosphere had shifted entirely.
The blue woman, who had radiated a tremendous presence, was nowhere to be seen.
Where is Young Miss?
Before long, he spotted the blonde young lady lying calmly under the moonlight.
She appeared peaceful, bathed in the blue light, with a serene aura surrounding her as if she were merely asleep.
Agent Black hurried to her side, a mix of hope and fear tightening his chest. He knelt beside her and gently picked her up.
On the outside, she seemed fine. She had no injuries, and her breathing was steady.
“Young Miss! Are you okay?”
His voice echoed faintly in the cave, breaking the heavy silence.
“Ah…Ahjussi. You’re here…”
She opened her eyes and smiled weakly, her expression helpless.
Two shining blue eyes filled his vision.
Agent Black sensed something in her gaze and tried to speak, but her weak voice interrupted him.
“I should have listened to you, Ahjussi. I messed up.”
As she spoke, something changed within her. Blood began to gush from her heart, even though there was no visible injury.
“Wish-granting Objects do grant wishes. I thought it would be okay if I signed a contract with a lot of conditions…”
A wound suddenly appeared on her chest, as if she had been stabbed with a sharp knife, and blood poured out.
Even though Agent Black tried to stop it, the wounds were too deep for him to manage.
“Regardless of my family, grandfather, or that Object… I wanted to go out and have fun together with you…”
The blonde girl held her breath, her unfocused blue eyes drifting.
Closing her eyes, Agent Black rose, cradling her in his arms.
There must be a way.
Even if it meant wishing to that woman again.
On the shore near Yangcheon-gu Cave, all of us were busy collecting the old women’s blood and disposing of it.
The Blue Reaper, who had soon come to its senses, was also helping with the cleanup.
< Burn to ashes! …please >
< Burn it all! Don’t leave a single trace behind! …please >
< Burn to ashes! …please >
The Blue Reaper’s unintelligible alphabet burned the corpses of the old women to black, while the Golden Reapers diligently dug the ground.
It was unavoidable since it was the only way to meet the killing conditions of the old women.
The killing conditions for the old women were all the same: ‘Burn them to ashes and bury them in the ground.’
But I found a strange thing inside the corpse of the giant old woman. It was a peculiar object, one that didn’t turn into ashes.
A red heart that constantly spat fire.
Hmm, was it because it was a fairly high-class Object? Its killing condition was quite strange.
< Make the heart stop beating and immerse it in water. >
While I was looking intently at the small, beating heart, it seemed that the Golden Reapers were already done with the cleanup.
As soon as they buried the ashes, I felt a change in my abilities.
The number of Blue Reapers I could create had shot up to around ten of them.
It was quite a fairly rapid increase in their numbers. Still, how many more old women did I have to kill to make their numbers equal to the Golden Reapers?
I don’t think there are any more old women in this lake… Hmm…?
The Golden Reapers seemed to be bursting with happiness as the number of Blue Reapers increased. All of them smiled brightly and surrounded the little Blue Reapers. They hugged them tightly, and cuddled, making a huge fuss.
Umm, should I ask them to stop…? Won’t the blue reapers get crushed to death like this?
The Blue Reapers seemed at a loss, perhaps feeling burdened by the infinite love radiating from the lively Golden Reapers.
In the end, the Blue Reapers couldn’t stand the embarrassment anymore. They pushed their hats down and fled into the sky.
While I was watching the cute mini-reapers, I suddenly sensed a strange presence from underneath the lake.
As if on cue, the surface of the lake, which had been as still as a mirror, began to swirl.
Hehe!! Is the Blue Witch finally appearing?
Having arrived at the Yangcheon-gu Lake, the tattooed woman found herself resting in her lodging, when all of a sudden, she felt the ground vibrate.
It wasn’t a severe vibration, but it was unmistakable.
Startled, she ran out of her lodging.
Could it be…? Did the lake monster appear already?
Her suspicions were proven correct as a gargantuan monster rose from the surface of the lake.
It was the guardian of the lake, called ‘The Lake Serpent’.
They will probably name it differently here though… Maybe they will name it after that famous legend of theirs?
The Hydra.
The monstrous serpent, its lower body still rooted in Yangcheon-gu lake, stood taller than any other building.
It was so enormous that it seemed to pierce the sky itself. Moreover, the monster seemed to be completely made up of water.
“Hah… Fuck this shit… Why is the Lake Serpent already… ”
She muttered to herself as a sense of helplessness washed over her.
The crystal required to stop that serpent was far from complete… She still needed around a day to finish it.
However, one day was more than enough time for the Hydra, possessed by the curse, to turn the entire city of Seoul into rubble.
