Seoul Object Story
Chapter 105: The Cruise ship (6)

In a mystical, glowing crystal cave, Agent Black lay unconscious on the cold, hard floor.

The soft light emanating from the crystal cave wall illuminated the man’s distorted expression and tattered clothes.

In front of him stood a blonde girl, a mix of determination and anxiety etched on her face, as if guarding Agent Black.

[ If you make a contract with me, I will return you to your original state. I will turn you into a human once again. ]

The woman leaning over the girl leaned over whispered her enticing offer.

[ Are you interested? ]

Her eyes gleamed with cunning, her lips twisting into a dangerous smile.

In his fleeting consciousness, Agent Black listened to the conversation.

Making a deal with an Object that could speak the human language was something that should never be done. Wary of the Object, Agent Black snapped his eyes wide open.

He cried out hoarsely as he struggled to get up.

“Young miss, you absolutely should not do that!”

Because of his voice, slight hesitation appeared on the girl’s face.

“You are well aware, aren’t you young miss? No one should ever make a deal with an Object that can speak. It’s never worth it. The price is terrible, and you wouldn’t get what you want.”

Lying on the floor, he hurriedly spewed out the words in an attempt to persuade the blonde young lady.

[ Shh. ]

The woman, who had been quietly listening, put a finger to her lips.

[ Do not disturb us. Why don’t you just go back to sleep hun? ]

Her words became tangible and sent Agent Black into a deep sleep once again.

“Y…Young miss.”

An Object that appeared as a beautiful woman but was clearly a terrible monster,

And a blonde girl standing before her as if confronting it.

Agent Black lost consciousness with such a scene playing out before his eyes.

The moonlight sneaking through the thick, swirling fog surrounding the Yangcheon-gu Lake struggled to reach the surface of the water.

The foggy lake held its breath calmly, waiting for something.

Monsters, oozing black slime from their bodies, lunged toward the lake from the trucks that had stopped on the shore, breaking the tense silence.

They seemed to have lost all sense.

[ The earth will devour your feet! ]

[ Your bones will not be able to bear your own weight!!! ]

Strangely twisted old women emerged slowly through the fog, all the while muttering curses. They seemed to be far superior to the mindless monsters oozing black slime.

Each curse uttered by the old women caused the monsters to burn, they burned, melted, and were sucked into the ground.

Yet, the monsters, seemingly fearless, continued to rush toward the lake without hesitation.

In the distance, two men watched the scene, smiling with satisfaction.

“At this rate, the heart of the lake will be ours. Haha! Now that they don’t have their brains anymore, they are following orders really well.

“…”

A change occurred among the old women. As black mucus flowed into the lake, black spots began to appear on their hands and feet.

The spots increased, causing them to suffer, while the amount of slime polluting the lake grew.

The man turned and walked back to his parked vehicle.

“It’s over. As expected, everything went well this time. I’ll go first. You stay behind and retrieve the heart of the lake, butler.”

“Yes, I understand, Director.”

The butler, who bid goodbye to the departing director, stood silently on the shore, gazing at the fog-filled lake.

“…”

The atmosphere of the battlefield, where victory seemed imminent, began to shift. The researchers, who had lost their sense of fear, stopped in their tracks. They twisted in pain, unable to move forward.

Huh? Weren’t these researchers incapable of fear?

From beyond the fog, a yellow glowing eye trembled and moved closer.

Plop-! Plop-!

As if on a stroll, a small childlike silhouette hopped cheerfully towards them. It was the Reaper, with its gray skin and glowing yellow eyes.

The Gray Reaper seemed to be laughing as it looked at the Objects trembling in fear.

When it spread its hands, small shining Golden Reapers appeared and rushed towards the monsters.

These tiny beings wielded overwhelming violence, crushing everything they touched.

Even the fearless researchers panicked, fleeing in all directions. The old women hid themselves in the fog, retreating deep into the lake.

The butler, seeing the yellow eyes staring at him, understood the researchers’ fear.

That thing…

The Gray Reaper was something that mere Objects could never even hope to defeat.

*******

The shore of the lake was riddled with black slime.

If I had lungs, I probably would have suffocated to death because the stench was just that horrible.

Thankfully, I don’t have lungs!

The Golden Reapers, who had taken care of all the enemies, had already run away due to the terrible smell.

I’ve been seeing this black slime a lot lately. Just where does it keep coming from? If I ever find the source, I’ll tear it apart, piece by piece…

There was no sign of the old woman Object on the shore. But of course, it was because I let them go on purpose.

No matter how I looked at it, they seemed connected to the ‘Blue Witch’, so I deliberately let those strange old women escape.

I had a hunch that if I let them go, they’d scurry off to wherever the ‘Blue Witch’ was hiding.

The one in charge of tracking them now was our new recruit, the Blue Reaper, who could fly in the sky.

Having defeated all the enemies on the shore, I slowly walked towards where the Blue Reaper was.

*******

On the bus heading to Yangcheon-gu Lake, a woman covered in tattoos was sitting with an uncomfortable expression.

The bus was full of lively chatter and laughter from excited passengers. Despite it being late at night, their excitement showed no signs of waning.

“Sis, what will we do first?” Her younger sister, eyes sparkling with anticipation, asked.

Chewing on some bitter leaves, the woman answered, “We should go to the cave first.”

“Sis, wah?!! So you did read about the Yangcheon-gu Lake! The cave there is really really cool!!!”

The woman smiled wryly at her expectant sister. The tour her sister hoped for was unlikely to happen.

She lifted the crystal in her hands, her thoughts focused. She couldn’t allow that traitor to just take over the lake.

If that were to happen then the lake would turn black, and the snake would fall into the traitor’s hands.

The nine-headed snake could never be defeated without this crystal.

Staring at the white swirling flames within the crystal, the woman steeled her resolve.

*******

The Blue Reaper was chasing the fleeing old women while riding a broom made of water. It was quite the spectacle!

Meanwhile, the old women were in total panic, flailing around on the surface of the water and causing ripples everywhere.

They kept looking over their shoulders, as if they were being chased by some monster from the abyss. How silly!

There was no conversation, just the sound of heavy breathing and water splashing. It echoed through the quiet lake.

Their frantic run, which seemed like it would never end, came to an abrupt halt when they reached the entrance of a cave.

They looked a lot more relaxed now, gathering in front of the cave and chatting to shake off their fear.

[ We barely survived. ]

[ Why did such a monster suddenly appear? ]

[ Could it be that the reason the youngest didn’t come back was because of that monster? ]

As the old women, their skin mottled with black slime, chattered in front of the cave, fog billowed out from deep within. Then, a huge silhouette appeared in the fog.

Thud-! Thud-!

With loud footsteps, the silhouette split the fog. It was a huge monster, twice the size of the old women.

[ What a fuss. ]

The chattering old women stopped talking and bowed their heads.

Seeing the enormous Object, the Blue Reaper sent a signal to the Gray Reaper, writing some characters in the air.

< A suspicious Object has appeared! >

But the old woman easily saw the signal. When the Blue Reaper realized this, it tried to run away. However, the giant old woman moved incredibly fast despite her size and grabbed the Blue Reaper.

< It hurts! IT HURTS!! LET GO LET GO LET GO!!! >

The Blue Reaper struggled, but it couldn’t break free.

[ What a fascinating guy, kekekeke!! Hmm? It’s not even one of our sisters, but it uses similar powers… ]

Thud-! Thud-! Thud-!

A hand slammed down desperately struggling in order to escape the old woman’s grasp. The old woman just looked at the hand, grabbed it, and tore it off.

< !!!!! >

The Blue Reaper let out a silent scream, its expression filled with pain.

[ Kekekeke. Interesting… So, so interesting… I never thought I’d see such an interesting child. Hmm, child. Why don’t we make a bet, huh? If you win the bet, I’ll… Yeah, I’ll let you go. ]

The old woman smiled menacingly at the Blue Reaper, who was shedding tears because its arm had been torn off.

Then, all of a sudden…

The world changed.

[ What the… ]

The wet lakeside was gone, and the cute child she held in her hands was gone too.

What entered her eyes were…

A sea of chocolate.

Clouds of marshmallows.

Small golden Objects, who seemed extremely angry.

And lastly, a gray monster glaring at her while holding the blue child in its arms.
