Chapter 89 - Grand Thief Battleships! Cultivator Stole 50 Battleships in front of the Navy General.

The movements in the sky quickly caught the attention of the locals. Elders and disciples looked up, gazing at warships in awe. Some youngsters had never seen a plane or flying ships before in their lives.

The news reached Li Wushuang and Fu Tong, who were still resting in the meeting hall. Yin Suyin was the first to return and report.

"Sect Master, we have unknown aircraft in our sky. The fleet of warships that we saw at Mount Vulture Sect is assembling west of us and preparing to fight. It looks like they’re about to fight in the skies above us."

Li Wushuang’s face turned solemn. She knew who they were.

"Declare an emergency. Evacuate everybody into the dimensional portal for safety. Do not come out until the fight is over."

Yin Suyin got concerned about the array. "What if the artifact is destroyed and the portal seals shut while we’re still inside? Won’t we be trapped in there forever?"

"Once everyone’s evacuated, I’ll close the portal and take the artifact with me. As long as the artifact is not destroyed, I’ll find a way to reopen the portal and bring you back."

"Understood!"

Yin Suyin rushed out to relay Li Wushuang’s order.

Li Wushuang turned to Fu Tong next.

"Let’s move. The fleet above us is ours, right?"

"Yeah, they’re technically our fleet, but the Ji Clan is still controlling them. Let’s go."

Preparing for battle, they flew to their fleet.

Upon arrival at the flagship’s main deck, they found Ji Laopan, Jin Yanxiong, and Lu Liang together. The three immortals seemed to come to an agreement as smiles never escaped their faces.

"You’ve arrived, Your Highness." Lu Liang cupped his fist and lowered his head.

Jin Yanxiong and Ji Laopan also grinned and saluted. "Your Highness!"

Fu Tong felt like the duo was mocking him. He frowned. "Stop calling me a prince. I’m going by ’Fu Tong’ at the moment."

Lu Liang snickered and asked because of curiosity. "We’re alone at the moment, and everybody here is your loyal subordinates. Could we learn about your real identity?"

Li Wushuang was curious too. She knew that his ’Medical Saint’ identity was not the only alias he used, and she wanted to know what kind of background her husband had.

Fu Tong looked at everybody. Being cornered out of nowhere, he wanted to facepalm.

"What’s the point of learning my true identity?"

"Nothing. We’re just curious what kind of person my grandson-in-law is." Jin Yanxiong laughed.

Fu Tong sighed deeply. As usual, he dodged the question.

"I hate that name. Don’t bring this up again."

Lu Liang raised an eyebrow and asked. "And what will you do once you achieved your goals, Your Highness?"

Fu Tong was confused about what Lu Liang was talking about. He was also unaware that Dong Min was on Yuemei Wuxin’s ship. Being clueless, he asked them.

"What goals? I have too many life goals. What are you talking about?"

Lu Liang laughed. "Your Highness. You can trust me. I’m willing to support you to the throne, and I’ll convince all infantry units to do so. We’re just wondering what you’ll do after we deal with the crown prince."

"Oh." Fu Tong still had no idea which crown prince Lu Liang was referring to. He paused to think.

After a moment of silence, Fu Tong frowned deeply as he slowly connected the puzzle pieces.

Lu Liang was loyal to the Imperial Family. Therefore, the crown prince that Lu Liang had referred to was definitely the Heavenly Emperor’s successor ’Dong Min’.

According to the story, Dong Min appeared in late Chapter 2, but he got owned by Pei Guihong’s cheating power and died. Because of the crown prince’s death, Pei Guihong became a fugitive and was forced to flee from the Grand Jade Continent along with his comrades, including Long Hao.

Fu Tong disliked the current butterfly effects. He didn’t want to meet the final boss of the second Chapter here, as killing him now would only bring complications.

He sighed and muttered.

"Nothing."

"Nothing?"

"Authority, fame, titles, social status—Those are something that needs to be earned, not inherited from someone else. Taking over that ugly bitch’s title will only endanger me, my family, and my comrades. Right now, I’m a mortal trying to atone for my mistakes. Let me work on my cultivation and earn everything myself. Until I’m ready, I won’t be competing with those foolish princes and their greedy mothers."

Lu Liang was stunned. He imagined the struggle that Fu Tong had been through to obtain that mindset.

’I understand now. I understand everything! The emperor’s concubines and the princes were jealous of his abilities and secretly attempted to kill him. He probably exiled himself and hid here to gather his forces. Now, nobody knows about him or might have been thinking that he’s dead. But while everybody lets their guards down, he is scheming his revenge, and he will take down all his rivals, one at a time. Soon, he will ascend with his own forces. With his subordinates and connections, princes who still beg their father for troops and authority can no longer be his rivals, and he will EARN everything without relying on his father! Even without the throne, he will become the emperor of his own empire! This... is the path of a true conquerer! The real emperor!’

Lu Liang shed a tear. Being blinded by emotions, he knelt on one knee and smacked his chest.

"I, Lu Liang, pledge my allegiance to you. Allow me to serve you and follow you to the end, my lord."

Fu Tong frowned yet again. He knew that followers and kingdom-building features were a thing in the game. Still, he wished for nothing more but to survive and eliminate nasty protagonists and villains in this universe.

"Stop being corny. Let’s focus on the matter at hand."

Shifting his attention to Yuemei Wuxin and his fleet, Fu Tong checked on their preparation.

"Grandpa, have you embedded the warships with karma coins?"

Jin Yanxiong smirked and glanced at Ji Laopan. "Oh, the barrier arrays? Our steward friend here already completed them."

Ji Laopan confirmed. "With the supply of your karma coins, every ship’s energy reserve is enough to withstand a thousand full-powered strikes from peak immortals. This doesn’t include the backup reserves that we have prepared for our men and the killing arrays."

This universe had no concept of firearms or cannons. However, they relied on arrays to perform miracles, such as barrier arrays, killing arrays, and miscellaneous arrays.

Barrier arrays were self-explanatory. On the other hand, killing arrays automatically fired Qi blasts, energy beams, or various spells that cultivators could use without arrays. These arrays amplified cultivators’ spells, unleashing greater destructive power against stronger opponents.

Fu Tong observed the warships on the other side. He noticed semi-transparent domes around every ship and realized that Yuemei Wuxin and his men also activated their shield arrays, preparing for air combat.

He turned to Lu Liang.

"If I remember correctly, Lu Liang, you can’t disobey the order of a prince, right?"

"Yes, my lord."

"Did Dong Min order you not to harm him or his allies?"

"...Yes, but you can override the order."

Fu Tong was aware of the dao oaths and the curse that every Lu Clan member had. They couldn’t defy the direct orders from the imperial family members unless their patriarch or someone from the royal family permitted them.

If Fu Tong was a real prince, he could simply order Lu Liang to kill Dong Min, and the agent would deal with everything for him. Unfortunately, Fu Tong was nothing but an impostor. His words could not override Lu Liang’s restrictions.

Thus, Fu Tong made a decisive decision.
