Jiang Xuehong sneered and unsheathed his earth-grade crimson saber. It radiated a thick scent of blood, as its steel had been tampered with monster blood and Yin Qi. He didn’t wait for the demon fox to signal the start of the match and lunged at Huli Jiubai.

The old fox calmly opened his mouth and closed it within a nanosecond.

Mysteriously, Jiang Xuehong disappeared. Not a drop of blood or aura remained.

Huli Jiubai’s jaws moved as though he were chewing something in his mouth. A muffled sound of crushing bones and tearing flesh echoed in his mouth and throat, but nobody paid attention to the white noise.

He fetched a handkerchief to wipe his mouth. A light red stain remained on the piece of cloth, but nobody noticed it. He turned to the judge.

"Well... judge. I’m an inexperienced cultivator. I can’t sense my opponent anywhere, so where is he?"

"Huh?"

The demonic fox narrowed his eyes. He recognized the technique, which only fellow monsters could do. However, he couldn’t figure out what kind of monster Huli Jiubai was.

The judge glanced at Fu Tong once again. The latter’s grinning face formed a crescent shape as he stared at the demonic fox.

Seeing Fu Tong’s terrifying expression, he hurried and declared.

"Because the opponent has left the combat stage, the Divine Cloud Sect has won by default. The final score is 3-1. There is no need to continue the final match."

Once again, Liu Qingmi let out an incredulous screech. He stomped his feet while his killing intent soared, disagreeing with the verdict.

"WHO LEFT THE MATCH?! HE MIGHT JUST BE HIDING AND WAITING FOR AMBUSH ON THE STAGE?!"

The fox frowned and glared at Liu Qingmi.

"I am an immortal, and I can’t sense your representative anywhere. Even if he is around, he might already be in someone’s stomach... I mean, he might have abandoned the fight."

The fox didn’t dare to expose Huli Jiubai as a fellow monster. After all, the Lu Clan’s threat was more important than the negligible existence of a mortal monster beast among the human ranks. On the contrary, he was happy that a monster was lurking in Li Wushuang’s crowd.

Liu Qingmi continued protesting.

"I won’t accept this! I can’t accept this! REMATCH! WE FIGHT AGAIN! THIS TIME, WE SEND OUR BEST FIGHTERS, INCLUDING OUR ELDERS!"

"ENOUGH!" bellowed the demonic fox. His voice transformed into a gravity pressure, falling upon Liu Qingmi and his men. Everybody on their side collapsed to the ground and slowly sank into the mountain.

The fox reminded their bet.

"As you’ve lost, you have the duty to adhere to agreements! You, your sect, your people, everything that belongs to the Mount Vulture Sect shall now be transferred to the Divine Cloud Sect!"

Liu Qingmi and his subordinates coughed blood. He lifted his head and protested.

"Why are you doing this to me?! Didn’t we have an agreement that we would help you find the Celestial Fox City?! My father is a disciple of the Skull God Cult! He will help you find them!"

The demonic fox flinched, recalling their clan’s agreements with the Mount Vulture Sect. He hesitated if he should follow through with the bet or risk being punished by the higher-ups.

He turned toward Fu Tong and Li Wushuang. Although he felt guilty, he decided to save his skin.

"Alright. Enough joking. Liu Qingmi, you will return whatever you stole from the Divine Cloud Sect. Give them the spirit stones you stole too!"

The fox waved his hand and pulled Liu Qingmi’s storage ring and the box full of spirit stone rings out of his clothes. He then tossed them toward Li Wushuang, who caught it.

Inspecting the ring, Li Wushuang found her sect’s treasure inside. The array artifact was a cubic-shaped crystal, containing a fragment of dimensional laws within. It was still intact and fully charged, ready to be reactivated once again.

Getting all her spirit stones and the artifact back, Li Wushuang was satisfied. She saluted to the demonic fox.

"Thank you for your assistance."

The fox snorted. "Do not thank me. Be grateful that I didn’t strip you and take you to my ship!"

Fu Tong raised an eyebrow and coughed, startling the demon fox. The referee corrected his words.

"Ahem! It was nothing. As an immortal, I uphold justice above all else. We’re done here! Get going before I change my mind!"

Fu Tong sneered at the fox, who also flinched and cowered in fear.

However, Fu Tong hadn’t forgotten about the demonic fox’s companion, who had been observing their game from the very beginning, yet he didn’t say anything or interfere. Unlike the cowardly fox, his eyes gleamed with intelligence and pride.

Their eyes met. The second demonic fox faintly smiled and turned around, flying away.

Fu Tong frowned. He had a bad feeling about that fox. For the sake of safety, Fu Tong turned around and urged Li Wushuang and others.

"Let’s go back. We shouldn’t stay here for too long."

Tang Youyan pouted. "What about the bet?! We haven’t destroyed the Mount Vulture Sect yet. They have been bullying us for decades. It’s time to pay back!"

"Don’t be silly. Look at the sky. Do you want them to come down and eat you? We can’t enforce the bet here, or we will be the one in trouble."

Tang Youyan glanced at the scary foxes in the sky. As she looked up, her eyes met with a thousand eyes of demonic foxes on the ships, who looked down at them. All the male foxes licked their lips and ogled her body like the judge had earlier.

She got goosebumps. Fearing for her safety and purity, she urged Li Wushuang. "Let’s go home. I hate it here."

Li Wushuang nodded. She redeployed her giant sword, and everybody rushed onboard.

Fu Tong, however, had no intention of leaving without punishing the toad. He pulled out 100 karma coins, and they instantly turned into ash, answering his command.

A second later, an energy earth spike emerged from below Liu Qingmi, piercing through his stomach. He turned into glass shards and dissipated into dust.

Fu Tong got on the sword. As nobody looked back, they left without noticing the death of Liu Qingmi. Only the Mount Vulture Sect’s people shouted in panic.
