From the gate, a series of stone steps led them up to a three-story traditional building, its rich mahogany exterior gleaming in the sunlight.

The entrance featured sliding latticed doors made of delicate rice paper, adorned with intricate patterns.

The building’s eaves were artfully slanted upward, and from each pillar hung ornate lanterns, their gentle glow casting a warm ambiance.

At the entrance, a musical wind chime tinkled softly as it swayed along the blowing gust of wind.

The inn was owned and operated by a humble woman in her forties, who was easily recognizable because she was the only one who did not wear a uniform.

Despite the numerous attendants tending to the facilities, she personally took care to greet each and every guest who graced the inn with their presence.

"Welcome to Love Maze Inn and Hot Spring," she said when the little group arrived.

"Hello, Hello, I am surnamed Huang," Uncle Huang responded with a bright smile.

"Ah, Mr. Huang. Welcome, welcome. Have you made any booking in advance?"

"Yes, I believe so. There are eight of us."

The owner went through a list of bookings. After a while, she found their rooms.

"Two rooms have been booked under Mr. Huang’s name," she explained. "Is that correct?"

"In that case, please follow the servant into your rooms. Meiyin...!"

Meiyin, the inn attendant, quickly hurried over to greet the guests.

"Will you please bring the guests to Lotus Room and Chrysanthemum Room?"

"Yes, Madam."

Meiyin bowed toward the guests.

"Welcome to the inn, everyone. Please allow me to show you to your rooms."

When she raised her eyes and let her gaze wander among the guests, she could not help but marvel at the beauty of the younger guests.

The Lotus Room and Chrysanthemum Room were both located on the second floor, in the west wing.

The Lotus Room was the smaller one for the ladies, and the Chrysanthemum Room was the bigger one to accommodate the men.

Inside their respective rooms, mattresses and quilts had been laid across the straw floor mats.

A fragrant steam diffuser, nestled in a corner of the room, infused the air with a delicate, calming aroma.

"We provide neither bathrooms nor shower rooms in the inn. All guests are encouraged to enjoy a soak in the natural hot spring located behind the inn," Meiyin informed them with a warm smile. "Please note that it’s a mixed-gender spring, so kindly familiarize yourself with the rules posted at the entrance before entering."

After a thorough tour of the room, highlighting its amenities and facilities, Meiyin politely excused herself.

Once the door slid close behind the attendant, Lang Yuxuan and Feng Jietang acted quickly.

"Little Shen, why don’t we sleep over there?" Feng Jietang pulled at Shen Jingwei’s wrist and dragged him to a corner of the room.

Simultaneously, Lang Yuxuan threw himself at Yan Renzhong.

"Senior Yan," he spoke sweetly. "Why don’t we sleep over there?"

He then urged his senior to sleep in the opposite corner of the room.

Uncle Huang was left with the bed at the center of the room. He did not understand the appeal of sleeping in the corner, really. The bed at the center should be the most comfortable one but no one took it.

Or maybe these youngsters were just too polite and considerate.

Ah, it was good traveling with these good children, Uncle Huang mused fondly.

Shen Jingwei patted his mattress and chuckled.

"Oh, the mattress has some warming properties..."

Feng Jietang, who was no longer able to restrain himself, blurted out, "Little Shen, why don’t we go to the hot spring together?"

Shen Jingwei stared at him.

"You and I?" He asked.

"I and you," Feng Jietang confirmed.

Shen Jingwei was about to remind Feng Jietang about his gender preference, but there were three other men in the room.

Instead, he leaned closer to Feng Jietang and whispered, "Follow me outside."

Feng Jietang nodded stiffly.

They exited the room in silence, heading downstairs.

It was customary to rinse oneself prior to taking dinner, so the entrance of the hot spring was overflowing with guests.

A wooden board hung at the front, outlining all the rules inside the hot spring.

It was difficult talking in private when so many people were around, so they pretended to read the rules while waiting for the guests to enter the maze of hot spring pools.

1. Hot spring visitors must wear bathrobes and swimwears while soaking in the water.

2. Monkeys like to soak in the hot water too. Please do not disturb them, and they will not disturb you in return.
