Like a shy maiden facing a hooligan, Shen Jingwei inadvertently hugged himself in defense.

"W-w-what are you saying?" He stammered.

Yan Renzhong frowned at him.

"Take off your shirt before you get sick. Come on."

He stepped closer, and Shen Jingwei retreated.

"I can just change out of my shirt!" Shen Jingwei cried out.

"It will only get wet again. The day is still long. Quick, we don’t have time to lose."

Shen Jingwei turned effectively red.

Him? Exposing his upper half in front of camera, in a TV show?

"No way!" Shen Jingwei spat out.

Yan Renzhong cracked his knuckles.

"Since you are being stubborn, do not blame me for being rough."

Shen Jingwei let out a shriek.

The camera crew frantically followed Shen Jingwei as he fled across the rice field, his panic evident in every stride. The uneven terrain made running difficult, but Yan Renzhong’s larger frame and longer strides quickly closed the gap between them.

"Yan Renzhong!" Shen Jingwei tossed out when Yan Renzhong put his arms around him from behind, locking him in place. "Let me go!"

"Be obedient and take off your shirt or I will," Yan Renzhong growled into Shen Jingwei’s ear.

"Arghhhhh!!!" Shen Jingwei cried out in frustration. "I will, I will! Just let me go! Geez!!!"

Yan Renzhong released Shen Jingwei, who turned around and scowled at him in displeasure.

Slowly, Shen Jingwei unbuttoned his shirt.

It was so embarrassing that he couldn’t even raise his eyes to meet Yan Renzhong’s.

Why the hell did he not go to gym more often?

At least then he would have something to offer the audience.

Arghhhhh.

He barely took off his shirt when a mudball hit him square in the chest.

Shen Jingwei gave Yan Renzhong a bewildered look. The latter just hit him with a mudball!

"Are you for real, Yan Renzhong???" He snapped. Driven by pure lust for revenge, he scooped up a handful of mudball and hurled it at Yan Renzhong’s body.

Instead of being mad, Yan Renzhong laughed out loud.

"Playtime is over," he said. "Let’s continue working."

Shen Jingwei grumbled in displeasure.

What an asshole.

After toiling in the rice fields for nearly ten hours, the six participants were overcome by a wave of exhaustion.

Their muscles ached and their bodies protested against the relentless physical demands, leaving them feeling utterly spent.

Of course, the ones who suffered the most were Shen Jingwei and Yan Renzhong.

At the end of the day, they were practically unable to move.

After dinner, Shen Jingwei and Yan Renzhong sat on the porch, leaning against different wooden posts sluggishly.

"Senior Shen, are you alright?"

Lin Ruoye pressed an ice pack against Shen Jingwei’s forehead.

Next to her, Ye Lingxia had a bowl of peeled lychees to offer.

"Shen Jingwei, I have already peeled these lychees for you. Come, eat, eat."

Ye Lingxia was particularly grateful for Shen Jingwei’s willingness to take her place on the field.

Although she did not like sitting on a water buffalo, she preferred it anytime over doing manual labor.

Shen Jingwei mumbled something incoherent.

Both ladies leaned closer to him.

"What was that?"

"... Water," Shen Jingwei whispered.

"At once!" Ye Lingxia cried out before bolting into the kitchen to get Shen Jingwei some water.

Meanwhile, Lang Yuxuan was busy taking care of Yan Renzhong. The younger man’s eyes were overflowing with tears as he saw how tired Yan Renzhong was.

"Senior Yan, this is all my fault, wuwuwu... If only I didn’t injure myself..."

Yan Renzhong sighed. He raised a hand and gave Lang Yuxuan a weak pat on the head.

"... Are you feeling better now?"

Lang Yuxuan, his cheeks glowing pink, nodded vigorously.

"Good, because I don’t think I have the energy to help you tonight," Yan Renzhong sighed.

"It’s fine, Senior Yan, let me help you!" Lang Yuxuan offered in a flash.

"... No need."

Yan Renzhong groaned into his palm.

"I just need to sleep for a bit... Excuse me."

He pushed himself to his legs and wobbled slightly as he walked. Lang Yuxuan quickly put his arm around Yan Renzhong’s for support.

"Careful, Senior Yan, the steps..."

Meanwhile, Feng Jietang had just finished helping Auntie Bai wash the dishes. After wiping his hands dry with a cloth, he joined his suffering comrades at the porch.

"Eh? Where did Renxuan go?"

He giggled to himself at the perfect use of the couple hashtag.

"To their room, of course," Ye Lingxia answered while patiently feeding Shen Jingwei with lychees.

"I can’t eat anymore," Shen Jingwei groaned after only five lychees. Even chewing was exhausting at this point. "I am sorry, everyone, I am beat. I need sleep at once."

"Do you need any help, Senior Shen?" Lin Ruoye asked in concern.

"No, no need. You three continue enjoying your time," Shen Jingwei replied with a smile.

As soon as he entered his bedroom, Shen Jingwei sank onto the bed, his weary body finding relief in the soft mattress.

He fell asleep in no time.

Until a leg cramp jolted him awake in the middle of the night.

Shen Jingwei hopped out of bed and danced around the room, trying to relieve the tension.

"Arghhh..."

He groaned against the wall.

No good.

He needed to do something.

Shen Jingwei limped out of his bedroom and headed toward the kitchen to heat up some water.

The warm water was then placed in a large metal basin.

Once he soaked his sore feet in, Shen Jingwei felt like he was transported into heaven.

It felt so good that he had to lean backward, close his eyes, and groan from pure bliss.

"One might think that you are doing something questionable in the middle of the night like this," a voice was heard close above him.

Shen Jingwei’s eyes flew open in shock.

"Yan...!"

Yan Renzhong put a hand across Shen Jingwei’s lips, effectively muffling out the rest of his words.

"Don’t yell like that," he chastised him. "You are going to wake the entire house."
