It was none other than Shang Ruohai.

"I see neither a parting hug nor a parting kiss," Shang Ruohai frowned at Yan Renzhong in displeasure. "What the hell were you two doing out there in the lake?"

"We talked. And then we watched the lanterns and the firework show," Yan Renzhong answered with a nonchalant tone that grated on Shang Ruohai’s nerves.

The man could barely believe his hearing.

"You were riding on a boat with your beloved in the middle of the night, with lanterns floating all around you and fireworks exploding above your head," he enumerated the features that contributed to the romantic ambiance at the lake. "It was the most perfect setting to ask him out, or even to ask for his hand in marriage!"

Yan Renzhong solemnly shook his head.

"He had just gone through a traumatic experience," he said tactfully. "It is not the right time for that. Speaking of which, what have you found out so far?"

Shang Ruohai’s face turned serious. He nodded at Yan Renzhong.

"Walk with me."

They walked side-by-side, leaving the lake behind them and heading toward the CNC Hotel.

Shang Ruohai whipped out his phone and showed Yan Renzhong the surveillance footage of the equipment room.

Yan Renzhong scrutinized the tiniest movements within the room from start to end.

Those who came in and out were all staff in charge of maintenance and installation. And no one was doing anything suspicious either.

"This was from tonight?" Yan Renzhong asked.

"Yes."

"What about the other nights?"

"I have gone through those too. Nothing unnatural happened. During the day, the wires are in constant use. Any attempt to cut them would be immediately noticed by our staff."

Yan Renzhong furrowed his brows and gazed at Shang Ruohai.

"Then what? Are you suggesting that this is a mere accident and Shen Jingwei is just extremely unlucky?"

Shang Ruohai shrugged.

"You tell me. I plan to talk to him and his manager, with the footage in my hand to support my claim."

Shang Ruohai patted Yan Renzhong’s back with a sigh.

"Look, Yan Renzhong, accidents do happen at filming sites. And there is a first time to everything. There is no need to worry, we always have a safety net ready for an extra security layer."

Yan Renzhong stared at Shang Ruohai in disapproval.

"And what if the safety net has a hole the next time and he falls right through it? Are you going to dismiss the entire issue as a technical problem that unfortunately results in a casualty?"

Shang Ruohai sighed again.

"Fine," he said, exasperation lacing his tone. "I am going to make the equipment team double-check everything before and after installation, and one more time before the shooting begins. Happy now?"

Yan Renzhong snorted.

"Thank you for your understanding," he said sarcastically.

Despite the unfortunate mishap during Shen Jingwei’s sword dance performance, the shooting that night ended on a high note.

The next day, bright-eyed and bushy-tailed Director Ma stepped up a stool and addressed everyone during the morning assembly.

"Good morning everyone, thanks to everyone’s hard work, we have herewith successfully completed the fourth shooting period!"

"Wooooo~"

The cast and crew members broke into a round of cheer and applause.

"Everyone has been working hard. The fifth shooting period will take place three weeks from now. At the end of the fifth shooting period, we will have finished filming the first season of ’Dance Of The Dragons’!"

Another round of cheer and applause followed.

Time flowed so quickly.

The first season was about to be completed.

"Heyyy, Little Shen!"

A hulky figure bumped Shen Jingwei from behind, almost causing him to lose his balance.

He took his seat next to Shang Ruohai, who, for once, did not turn his head away in disgust.

"Now that the first season of ’Dance Of The Dragons’ is about to be completed and enter the editing stage, it is time for us to intensify our promotional campaign," Shang Ruohai began while letting his gaze wander from one perplexed face to the next.

"We already set the plan in motion a long time ago," Feng Jieyun continued. "Every year, CNC Studio and Yunhuan Entertainment collaborate to launch a season of the celebrity reality TV show, ’3, 2, 1... Action!’. This year’s cast list has been decided. It will be all six of you."
