Chapter 68 : Spring In Feng Jietang’s Heart
Chapter 68: Chapter 68 : Spring In Feng Jietang’s Heart
Within a day of joining the fourth shooting period, the CEO of Yunhuan Entertainment quickly proved to be quite a likeable person.
Unlike Shang Ruohai who only liked to mingle with select people whom he deemed fit to join his circle, Feng Jieyun was kind and friendly to anyone and everyone.
He treated new actors the same way he treated seasoned ones.
He joined random groups for lunch to get to know them better.
He even tried to be friends with Shang Ruohai, who avoided him like plague.
"He is an interesting person, your elder brother," Shen Jingwei remarked to Feng Jietang when they were having lunch together one day.
"Huh? Yeah, yeah, my brother has always been popular. So hey, quick question -- when and how did you find out that you like men?"
Shen Jingwei’s lips parted in astonishment. His chopsticks hung in the air as he stared at his lunch companion in bewilderment.
"What kind of question was that?" He muttered slowly.
"I swear, I didn’t mean anything," Feng Jietang quickly replied.
"I am just curious. But please, can you answer?" He begged.
"..."
Shen Jingwei put down both his lunch box and chopsticks on the small portable desk across his lap.
"There was no specific time frame or incident that marked my shift in sexual preference. For as long as I remember, I have always preferred men over women. Now, does that answer your question?"
"Not quite."
Feng Jietang sighed.
"Does it mean that you find all men here kind of... attractive?"
"Well, do you find all women here attractive...?"
"No, of course not," Feng Jietang snapped. "God, no."
"So then why would I? Jietang, you have been asking me a string of weird questions. What is this about?"
Feng Jietang leaned closer to Shen Jingwei and lowered his voice.
"I think I might be gay."
"... Explain ’might’."
Feng Jietang bit into his lower lip. He couldn’t just openly tell Shen Jingwei that he found the latter attractive, right?
Or that he had been reading all smut Chapters in "Dance Of The Dragons" in the past few days thanks to Lin Ruoye’s encouragement?
Or that he kept having disturbing, but at the same time delightful and fascinating dreams about him and Shen Jingwei while tossing around at night?
No way, he could never speak of such things.
Not unless he planned to ruin his good impression in Shen Jingwei’s heart.
"I... Uh, I..."
"Is this about the kiss?"
Shen Jingwei’s question struck Feng Jietang like a dagger, leaving him with no way to escape.
"..."
Even if Feng Jietang wanted to deny it, his body refused to cooperate.
Blushing profusely from ear to ear, he stammered like a high school boy in love, "T-that... m-maybe, I... I am not so sure..."
Shen Jingwei chuckled to himself.
He picked a pork cutlet from a bowl and put it into Feng Jietang’s lunch box.
"There is no need to worry about the kiss. Even straight men engage in sexual experiments from time to time. Just because you kissed a man, it didn’t automatically mean that you are gay."
"Oh."
"The mere fact that you are so concerned about it means that it goes against your nature. Relax, you are straight."
"..."
Apparently, Shen Jingwei mistook his concern as aversion toward homosexuality.
He did not know that when it came to Shen Jingwei and Shen Jingwei only, Feng Jietang was not really averse to becoming a homosexual.
Which brought Feng Jietang to a puzzling question -- was he gay or was he just interested in Shen Jingwei, who unfortunately happened to be born as a male person?
Also, despite his interest in Shen Jingwei, he could not imagine himself being xxx’ed down there.
What about Shen Jingwei?
Would he mind being xxx’ed down there?
How did gay couples even fix the arrangement?
Should Feng Jietang asked Shen Jingwei about this matter before they started dating?
Or should he ask before he confessed?
Ahhhhhhh so many questions!
The deeper Feng Jietang delved into the questions, the more vast and unfathomable they seemed. Eventually, he felt like a speck of dirt in the ocean of knowledge, lost and alone.
Before long, Shen Jingwei was called to partake in the military recruitment arc.
"We will talk about this later," Shen Jingwei covered his unfinished lunch and set it aside.
"Um. Yes, thank you," Feng Jietang said meekly.
To be honest, Shen Jingwei’s answers to Feng Jietang’s questions about homosexuality only served to cloud the latter’s understanding, leaving him more confused than when he started.
Naturally, Shen Jingwei was completely unaware of the tumultuous storm raging in Feng Jietang’s heart.
His mind was preoccupied with the upcoming sword fight against Yan Renzhong.
A long table was set up at the set for the panel of judges who served during the military recruitment act.
For the first time in the drama, all palace masters, the Grand Tutor, the Supreme General, and the Deputy Supreme General appear together at the same time.
"Nice to meet you," they all shook each other’s hands in introduction.
"I have heard a lot of good things about you."
"Shen Jingwei."
Feng Jieyun grabbed Shen Jingwei’s hand and shook it vigorously.
"I am Feng Jietang’s elder brother, Feng Jieyun."
"I heard. Pleased to meet you, Mr. Feng."
Feng Jieyun flashed him a smile similar to his younger brother’s.
"What do you mean, Mr. Feng? Call me Big Brother Feng! There is no need to stand on formalities here!"
"Pfft."
Both Feng Jieyun and Shen Jingwei whirled around to see Shang Ruohai standing behind them with a scowl across his handsome features.
"What do you mean, ’Big Brother Feng’? You haven’t even performed the ceremony to become sworn brothers yet!"
"Shen Jingwei is my younger brother’s good friend. In my eyes, he is practically my younger brother as well. So when are you going to join Yunhuan?"
Shang Ruohai stepped toward them. Despite his attempts to project an air of dominance, Shang Ruohai’s shorter stature made him appear less imposing in front of Feng Jieyun.
Nevertheless, it did not stop him from baring his teeth at his rival.
"Do not think of poaching my talent before he even joins my company."
"Your talent?" Feng Jieyun shot Shang Ruohai an amused look. "To my understanding, he is Beihai Entertainment’s talent currently."
