The four men sat at the rectangular table in a corner, eating their dinner in silence.

Two single-bed rooms were available for these four gentlemen to use, and one of them was homosexual.

The situation could not be more uncomfortable for Shen Jingwei.

Even after they finished their dessert, they were unable to decide the rooming arrangement.

At last, Shen Jingwei, unable to endure the suffocating atmosphere, rose to his feet.

"What about I just take the key to one room," he suggested. "It doesn’t matter much to me who my roommate will be. Please know that I shall conduct myself accordingly throughout the night."

Shen Jingwei took the key to one room and went upstairs without losing further word.

The room was relatively small. It was cramped with one single bed, a small immovable wardrobe, an end table, a small desk, and a small chair.

A folding door next to the bed opened up to reveal the toilet and the shower room. The shower room consisted only of a shower head mounted at the wall and a tiled area with a shower curtain to block the sight.

Shen Jingwei assessed the situation and decided that the only place he could unroll a second mattress was on the floor, between the bed and the small bathroom.

Or maybe he could just sleep on the small balcony outside. At least then there was a barrier separating him and his straight roommate.

Shen Jingwei wouldn’t even mind if his roommate locked the door leading to the balcony.

Not that Shen Jingwei would ever attack said unsusceptible roommate just because he was a male.

Shen Jingwei pushed the door to the balcony open and took a deep breath.

The cold night air was unbelievably fresh.

Maybe sleeping on the balcony was not a bad idea at all.

Shen Jingwei started to drag the second mattress toward the balcony.

The entrance door clicked open and Yan Renzhong entered with his bag.

He furrowed his brows when he saw Shen Jingwei at the balcony, trying to fit the mattress on the floor.

"The bed, obviously."

"Forget it," Shen Jingwei crossed his arms in front of his chest. "I don’t want your sprained ankle lying on the floor."

Heaven forbade that Weibo should explode with news about the ruthless Shen Jingwei, who made the injured Emperor Yan sleep on the floor!

Yan Renzhong stepped over the mattress and plopped down on the bed.

"Who said that I am sleeping on the floor?"

So Shen Jingwei was not sleeping on the floor.

And Yan Renzhong also was not sleeping on the floor.

It only meant one thing.

Shen Jingwei swallowed hard.

"Are we sharing the bed for a night?"

"Otherwise?"

"Do you see a second bed lying around?"

Shen Jingwei stalked toward the wardrobe, flung the double door open, and started searching for something.

Yan Renzhong slipped into a pair of slippers, courtesy of the inn, and limped into the bathroom. When he returned to the room, he witnessed Shen Jingwei in the middle of splitting the bed into two equal parts, using a bolster as a divider.

"The bed is small enough without that bolster," Yan Renzhong glared at Shen Jingwei. "It’s not like we never shared a bed."

Yes. Yes, they did share a bed in the past. But that was a long time ago. Shen Jingwei was unable to lie next to Yan Renzhong in the similar way. Not now. Not anymore.

When Shen Jingwei was irritated, he could not keep it within him. He just had to say something, to get it out of his system.

"Aren’t you afraid that I will attack you in the middle of the night?" Shen Jingwei asked pointedly.

Yan Renzhong calmly took off his jacket and tossed it on top of his bag.

"I’d like to see you try," he said.

Yan Renzhong was quite a confident man, wasn’t he? Then again, Shen Jingwei knew that he could never win against Yan Renzhong in a physical altercation.

He exhaled slowly to dispel the accumulating resentment.

"Whatever." With a frustrated snort, he threw his bag onto the bed and began searching for comfortable sleepwear.

Seeing that Shen Jingwei no longer attempted anything ridiculous, Yan Renzhong unzipped his bag and rummaged inside for something. The man let out a curse when he searched for a long time but was still unable to find the item he was looking for.

"What’s wrong?" Shen Jingwei asked.

"It seems that I misplaced the fresh bandages and ointment for my ankle."

Yan Renzhong snorted.

"It’s fine," he dismissed the issue lightly. "I can go without if it’s just for one night."

Shen Jingwei eyed Yan Renzhong’s bandaged foot. The bandage was wet from the time he went to the bathroom just now. He couldn’t just leave it like that.

"Send me a picture of the ointment," Shen Jingwei said. "I will get you some fresh bandages and the exact same ointment."
