In his over twenty years of life, Wu Jin had never even once fallen in love with anyone, let alone confessed to anyone. On the other hand, he had had to respond to a lot of love confessions.

Most came from hardcore fans, who made a point to stalk him at every fan meeting and live performance.

Some came from fellow CNC Studio singers and or actresses.

In order to not offend these people, Wu Jin had instinctively sharpened his particular skill to reject said advances.

Usually, he would start by pretending that he was touched by the love confession. Wu Jin left with his tail between his legs. Every little bit of the tiny pool of respect Shen Jingwei generated for the singer for the past several days disappeared within seconds.

"Damn it," Shen Jingwei cursed in his heart. "Is it only me or CNC Studio is full of troubled celebrities? Maybe I should switch to Yunhuan for good."

Wu Jin could barely sleep a wink that night.

At first, he thought that it was the rage over the petty verbal argument he had with Yan Renzhong earlier that day.

But then his mind drifted to Shen Jingwei, and he was reminded of the humiliation he was dished later that day.

"Damn it," Wu Jin cursed in his heart. "Do you know how many people love me, Shen Jingwei? When I confessed my love to you, you should be floating on cloud nine! How dare you look down at me???"

His bad mood persisted until the next morning.

With shallow acting experience that did not compare to Shen Jingwei’s, let alone Yan Renzhong’s, he was not very good at keeping up a poker face.

Worried about her idol, the background actress who played Xie Jianyu’s demoness lady-in-waiting, Little Qing came over to offer some comfort.

"Mr. Wu, is everything alright? You seem, eh, a little distracted today," she said as she brought Wu Jin a chilled can of chrysanthemum tea.

"Awww, Little Qing, you are so nice," Wu Jin whipped up a smile as he took the can of tea from his fan.

Little Qing turned pink at once.

"Ah, no... It was my job... I mean, we should all take good care of each other."

"Not everyone is as considerate as you, Little Qing," Wu Jin sighed. "I am a newcomer in acting, so naturally I pale in comparison to Emperor Yan. As soon as he arrived at the set, most people were drawn to him. It makes me feel a little lonely."

"That’s not true!" Little Qing cried out. "Mr. Wu, you might be new in acting, but your fanbase in music is comparable... no, I mean, a lot more than Mr. Yan’s! I am sure about that!"

"What about Shen Jingwei and Yan Renzhong?"

"Well... Adding to their bitter split in the past, Mr. Yan had been rather mean to Mr. Shen from the very beginning. In fact, they parted on bad terms at the end of the last shooting period of the first season.

To be very honest, I am sure that they don’t like each other too much. They are just keeping up the performance to keep the drama’s rating high!"

"Oh... Is that so?"

Wu Jin smirked.
