All smiles disappeared from Wu Jin’s face, replaced with a scowl. His arm fell from Yan Renzhong’s shoulder.

"Aren’t you a predator," he screeched. "You even swallowed Shen Jingwei whole."

The allusion to his and Shen Jingwei’s painful past didn’t escape Yan Renzhong’s notice.

"So this is what you do?" He said, chuckling at his opponent. "If you can’t beat me on the stage, you will poke at my past and throw the painful bits at my face?"

"Why, does it work?" Wu Jin laughed. "Awww. Didn’t expect you to be so vulnerable. Maybe I should post a reminder of your past online. #RenWei is going to lose its fanbase so quick it will make your head spin."

Yan Renzhong scoffed.

"I think you are late, as always. Someone else already posted it. But feel free to do so. Just don’t be a coward and post anonymously. That way, I can submit a formal complaint to the management."

Wu Jin gritted his teeth.

"Must you report everything and everyone like a little tattle-tale?"

"Grow up, Wu Jin," Yan Renzhong said with a dazzling smile. "Acting like a sore loser won’t help your career."

Wu Jin sneered.

"We will see," he said with a low voice. "We will see."

After another fifteen minutes, Shen Jingwei finished shooting his solo escape scene.

The next scene to come was the one where Xie Jianyu experienced hallucinatory attack by a demoness.

Vice Director Qin, eager to catch up with the shooting schedule, approached Yan Renzhong and asked enthusiastically, "Yan Renzhong, you came early. Do you think you can start shooting the next scene today?"

Instead of answering directly, Yan Renzhong shot a glance at Shen Jingwei, whose pale face stood in contrast with the red fake blood dripping down his chin.

He was obviously on the brink of collapse, but Vice Director Qin did not notice him at all. And Shen Jingwei, this fool, would never stop a shooting progress just because he wasn’t feeling well.

When Shen Jingwei refocused his gaze again, he was staring into his lover’s stunning grayish-blue eyes.

"You are here," Shen Jingwei whispered, his voice breaking a little as he took in Yan Renzhong’s handsome face as much as he could.

Like a gallant knight, Yan Renzhong carried Shen Jingwei like a princess, his long strides leading them away from the set.

The sight was enough to make some people blush from excitement. Some even started snapping pictures with their cameras to immortalize the beautiful moment.

Unfortunately, they were robbed of an even more tantalizing scene when the two men disappeared into Yan Renzhong’s tent. As soon as they were free from curious eyes, they tumbled onto the folding mattress together and shared a kiss after a long time of absence.

Shen Jingwei didn’t know how much he missed Yan Renzhong until he felt the man’s muscular frame in his arms again, and his weight pressing down on him.

"I missed you so much," he said, his voice moist with desire.

"I missed you too."

Yan Renzhong buried his face into the crook of Shen Jingwei’s neck and took a deep breath of the latter’s scent.

"I saw you freeze up there," Yan Renzhong breached the topic after his thirst for Shen Jingwei’s lips and body had been quenched to some extent. "Did you get dizzy from the height?"

"Yes," Shen Jingwei confirmed with a nod. "I knew that the wires were there, but I still felt insecure throwing myself out of the window."

"It’s fine, it’s normal after your bad experience during Winter Solstice act. But we still need to address it."

"I have already found a cure," Shen Jingwei answered with a sly smile.

"You have...?" Yan Renzhong frowned. "What is it?"

"Yes."

Shen Jingwei’s arms flew into the air and wrapped themselves around Yan Renzhong’s neck. Their lips met in another stormy kiss before Shen Jingwei revealed seductively, "As long as you are there to catch me, I can jump down from any height."

Yan Renzhong chuckled.

"You little vixen," he said, cupping Shen Jingwei’s face with both hands. "I will be there to catch you no matter when and where."

Shen Jingwei’s lips curved into a smile.

"Now that is what I wanted to hear."

Yan Renzhong lay next to Shen Jingwei on the folding mattress and stared at him.

"By the way, Jingbao, I need to talk to you about a certain idol of yours," he carefully said as he slowly ran his hands along Shen Jingwei’s contour.
