The thought came across Shen Jingwei’s mind several times, but he was powerless to resist Yan Renzhong’s advances.

Fingers intertwined intimately, the taller man pinned him onto the ground and shifted his weight on top of him.

Shower of kisses rained down upon him.

Yan Renzhong peppered every inch of Shen Jingwei’s exposed skin with kisses and bites, intent on marking Shen Jingwei thoroughly and warding unwelcome rivals.

Deep inside Shen Jingwei’s heart, there was a forbidden vault that he locked away years ago.

Right now, this very vault made his appearance again, bobbing up and down the sea of his consciousness, reminding him of what he truly craved and desired.

Shen Jingwei clawed into Yan Renzhong’s back, digging his fingers into the latter’s flesh.

He was stupid.

Three years had flown by but he was still the stupid trainee from three years ago.

He had loved a man who did not love him back in return.

He had been betrayed in the most vicious manner.

His life had been shattered to pieces.

His father’s soul had been dragged into the underworld before he could make amends.

But deep in his heart, he knew that he still loved Yan Renzhong.

And he hated himself for his utter stupidity.

Even now, as they lay at the edge of the pool, making out fiercely with each other, he still hated himself for being so stupid.

Why did he still love him, after everything that transpired...?

His vexation, like a tempestuous storm, lashed out in a resentful bite on Yan Renzhong’s lips.

And yet, Yan Renzhong remained steadfast, his arms tightening around Shen Jingwei’s slender body like vines.

Instead of pulling away, he leaned in, his lips claiming Shen Jingwei’s with a hunger that was both primal and consuming.

He sucked on Shen Jingwei’s lips with a fervor that mirrored a parched traveler quenching their thirst from a leather jug.

It almost seemed like the man was a glutton for punishment.

Until suddenly, Yan Renzhong broke off their kiss and turned his head away.

"Atchoo...!"

He sneezed.

Shen Jingwei blinked several times in sheer confusion and bewilderment.

It was over just like that.

Thanks to that single sneeze, the fog clouding his mind was finally starting to dissipate.

Yan Renzhong looked somewhat confused too.

"It’s cold," he said, referring to the cold night air above the water surface.

"Yes, it’s cold," Shen Jingwei agreed.

With a determined pull, Yan Renzhong dragged Shen Jingwei back into the hot water.

The sudden plunge and the temperature difference gave Shen Jingwei goosebumps all over.

"Ahhhh, hot!" He cried out.

"Just endure a little bit, your body will adapt over time," Yan Renzhong tethered Shen Jingwei to water using his weight as anchor.

"I thought you wanted to leave this place," Shen Jingwei said accusingly.

"I did. I do," Yan Renzhong corrected himself.

"But I don’t know how to exit this pool."

By right, the Eternal Love Pool was situated at a lower altitude than the others.

The water in the pool was fed by six cascading waterfall that, presumably, originated from the six larger pools above.

Unfortunately, the steep terrain and treacherous ascent made it impossible to retrace their steps and hike back to the main pool area.

Once they warmed up sufficiently inside the hot spring, they stepped out of the water and started walking around to look for an exit route.

Before long, they found a conscpicuous rope hanging from the edge of the wall. Attached to it was a wooden tag, saying "Pull me!"

"What is this?" Shen Jingwei asked, suspicious of the strange rope.

"I don’t know. Just pull it," Yan Renzhong said.

Shen Jingwei gave the rope a tug, and a banging sound was heard, followed by a bunch of flower petals raining above their heads.

"..."

"..."

And then, there was the sound of something heavy being dragged to the side.

A door opened up in the cave wall.

They stared at the door for a while before Yan Renzhong tugged at Shen Jingwei’s wrist and urged him toward the door.

"Let’s go. It has to be the exit."

"Uh... Yes."

He let himself being led toward the door before he very gently extricated his wrist from Yan Renzhong’s grip.

"I think we should keep it a secret," he said.

"What is?"

"This place," Shen Jingwei answered. "And also the fact that we came here together."

He did not care much about Lang Yuxuan, but he wanted to spare Feng Jietang the unnecessary pain.

Besides, they had not even talked about the fact that they were kissing each other like possessed a while ago.

"Oh."

Yan Renzhong’s gaze turned as cold as ice, devoid of any warmth.

"Up to you," he said before continuing to walk toward the door.

Shen Jingwei followed behind him, tormented by the myriad of thoughts that typically invaded one’s mind after committing an unspeakable act.

The door led them into a dark corridor, dimly lit by more scented candles along both sides of the wall.

It’s fine, Shen Jingwei told himself.

No one else needs to find out.

We can carry this secret to the grave.

His hope, akin to a fragile bubble meeting a needle, burst upon reaching the end of the corridor.

"CONGRATULATIONS!!!" Several people broke into a cheer.

A loud bang echoed through the space, followed by a cascade of colorful confetti that rained down upon Shen Jingwei and Yan Renzhong, enveloping them in a festive flurry.

The inn’s owner was there along with a group of hot spring attendants.

And the camera crew.

And Ye Lingxia, Lin Ruoye, Feng Jietang, and Lang Yuxuan.

Ye Lingxia looked beyond excited.

Lin Ruoye pressed a hand against her lips, her eyes wide in astonishment.

Feng Jietang’s face was as dark as a starless night.

Lang Yuxuan emanated a murderous aura fit for a Demon King.

Shen Jingwei looked into the round of faces.

Right now, he wished that he could go back and drown himself in the Eternal Love Pool to escape the embarrassing scene.
