Chapter 832: Chapter 416 The Blind Date is Starting_2

His face was somewhat shriveled, his eye sockets sunken, devoid of eyeballs, only hosting pulsating purple Soul Flames. Long Dangdang recognized this, it was a lich among the wraith entities. Strictly speaking, he was no longer considered undead.

True undead were required to possess a complete human form. Just like the group that had been chosen to participate in the matchmaking event, they were all genuine undead.

The Soul Flame flickered in the eye sockets of the Dark Wizard as it swept over the undead before him, its voice cold yet carrying a hint of elation, "The matchmaking is about to begin, and your task is to be chosen by all means. Those who are selected will receive a substantial reward from the lord of the city."

All the undead emitted affirmative spiritual fluctuations.

"Depart!"

Wraith entities were just that straightforward and direct, lacking unnecessary chatter, and they immediately began to move.

Once outside, the uniformly dressed group of match-seekers naturally formed a distinctive spectacle within the city streets, drawing the gaze of other wraith entities.

There were no vehicles, only walking, heading straight towards the city center.

The Dark Wizard at the front floated forward, propelled by its own formidable aura. As it passed, other wraith entities scrambled to clear the way in deference.

Long Dangdang also did not understand why they were heading to the matchmaking site in such an inefficient manner. Wouldn’t it be much faster by carriage?

However, it wasn’t long before he saw the reason. For they soon encountered another similar group.

Their attire was the same, a group of about eighty people. Leading them was a fully armored undead warrior striding at the front, guiding the similarly dressed matchmaking group, who met up perfectly with Long Dangdang’s group.

The Dark Wizard glanced at the Warrior undead, the Soul Flame in his eye sockets flickered faintly but he did not greet the other. The Warrior undead, undaunted, took up a position beside him, and they continued forward together in silent consensus.

Shortly after, they encountered a third group like theirs, then a fourth...

As the sight of the Mithril Castle became clear, their collective troops had amassed to six groups.

Long Dangdang realized that this matchmaking event was special, perhaps a selection among thousands. To be chosen seemed quite a challenging task indeed!

From this point, Long Dangdang had entered an area he hadn’t been before. The saying that "The mountains look close, but they are far away" indeed made a lot of sense, as it took them another half an hour from the sight of Mithril Castle to reach its proximity. It wasn’t until they arrived at a huge circular plaza that the entire Mithril Mountain and Mithril Castle were fully revealed before them.

The plaza was circular because it was constructed around the towering Mithril Mountain, which rose over three hundred meters high. The ground was paved with thick slabs, and although the craftsmanship was a bit rough, it was fairly neat. As they got closer, the awe brought by Mithril Mountain became increasingly intense. Centered on Mithril Mountain, even from the circular plaza, one could feel a thick, almost sticky fluctuation of elements.

Long Dangdang felt a heaviness in his heart—a Wraith Kingdom capable of building must be far more terrifying than one that only knew slaughter. From his days within the Wraith Kingdom, he had observed a clear order, a strict hierarchy, and high-level wraiths possessing significant intelligence, perhaps even retaining memories from their past lives. It had truly become a genuine nation, which undeniably was the most terrifying aspect. Perhaps even the demon tribe hadn’t achieved this ten thousand years ago. Moreover, the Wraith Kingdom was not hastily launching attacks on the human world but rather steadily consolidating and developing its power. From an initial local calamity to accumulating strength, and now lying dormant and full of threat, it might very soon lead to humanity’s complete annihilation.

As Long Dangdang pondered these grave matters, the team had already stopped moving, halting in the direction directly facing Mithril Castle. They were not the first to arrive; several groups were already there, with varying numbers ranging from around two hundred undead in the largest to about thirty to forty in the smallest.

Although these numbers did not fully measure the scale of wraith cities, they were undeniably indicative. Stone Gate City was certainly one of the largest, with only two other groups having more members than theirs, one of which could very well be from Calamity City itself. The remaining group had about the same number as theirs.

After waiting a while longer, when the number reached twelve groups, no more arrived. With twelve groups, the total number of undead was now eight to nine hundred. Most of them had better appearances and strong personal auras, and notably, their Wraith Essence didn’t seem particularly intense.

Through his observations over these days, Long Dangdang had already discovered that the intensity of Wraith Essence on an undead entity was related to its state. For instance, those purely wraith entities carried the most intense Wraith Essence. On the other hand, those transformed from humans had weaker Wraith Essence. Among them, ancient reanimated bones had thicker Wraith Essence, while those newly transformed from death bore lighter Wraith Essence.

And this time, those selected for the gathering were all the latter.

Originally, Long Dangdang’s own Wraith Essence wouldn’t have been considered intense, but recently, due to Little Evil absorbing a large amount of Soul Stones, which emitted a strong scent of death, his own death scent had also become more intense. This lowered the possibility of him being identified as a human, but if this were one of the selection criteria, it could be problematic as he had to be selected no matter what! Unfortunately, he couldn’t control this death scent to dissipate faster.

While assessing the situation in his mind, he could only wait and see how the meeting would unfold.

Each of the twelve groups had a leader, all of whom were leaders of their main cities. Observing these powerful beings, Long Dangdang realized they were extraordinarily strong. In their midst, Dark Wizards were only considered upper-middle tier. The one who caught his attention the most was a knight at the forefront of the group that consisted of more than two hundred undead. The knight, who seemed no different from a human knight, rode a massive bone dragon measuring over a hundred meters in length. The dragon’s bones were a terrifying deep blue, emanating an atmosphere of deep darkness and ice attributes; undoubtedly, even in life, it had been a true giant dragon, probably among the mightier of its species.

The aura exuding from the knight was abysmal and terrifying to the extreme. With Long Dangdang’s current cultivation, he couldn’t discern the knight’s real cultivation level, but the bone dragon was likely of Saint Hall Level. Such power within the human sacred halls could perhaps only be matched by a Dragon Knight of the Knights Temple who possessed the divine seal God’s Seal Cathedra Rex. Compared to him, Dark Wizards were indeed minor players.

All the undead were silently waiting, and about an hour later, a figure slowly floated out from the direction of Mithril Castle. From below, it was initially hard to discern the size of the figure, but as he appeared, even the knight riding the bone dragon slightly bowed in salute to him.

Long Dangdang peeked covertly, and saw the figure slowly descending from the sky, his entire body clad in deep blue armor, including a helmet with a face guard covering his face. Except for his eyes, which emitted a faint blue flame, no skin was exposed. As he lowered in height, his towering stature of about three meters was vaguely discernible—clearly beyond normal human proportions—accompanied by a greatsword over two meters in length floating beside him.

"Greetings, Lord Sorcery Demon King!"
