Chapter 390: Chapter 194: The Second Stage is About to Begin_1

After taking a shower and dressing in clean clothes back in his dormitory, Long Dangdang arrived at the Temple Headquarters for some respite. He sought out his two mentors first, only to find they were both absent, reportedly on trips outside.

Utilizing his identity as a reserve Sacred Legate, he smoothly arrived at the Knights Temple’s Impartation Hall, dedicated specifically to skill learning.

For a regularly progressing knight, learning skills here required the consumption of copious amounts of merit. Normal skills can be learned in any division; the ones offered in the Impartation Hall were unique abilities and high-level techniques.

Long Dangdang had visited once before. He then found the offerings overwhelming and even struggled with selecting what to learn. At the time, his cultivation level wasn’t even worth comparing to his current abilities. There was no need to learn too many skills then.

Things had changed considerably now. The more tests he faced, especially with him becoming the team leader, he deeply felt the need to make up for his lack of skills, particularly under the state of the Icy Moon Angel. He needed some seventh-rank skills for explosive power.

The interior of the Impartation Hall was bathed in a soft golden glow, with wisps of golden luminescence flickering in the air, creating an incredibly peculiar feeling. The hall’s rather small size, combined with its circular shape roughly fifty meters in diameter and a twelve-meter-high ceiling, appeared far more exquisite compared to the grandeur of the Temple Headquarters.

The walls consisted of blocks of gold put together, each block containing unique patterns.

Long Dangdang’s inner spiritual power was nearly four thousand now and he was getting closer and closer to the 6th rank. Looking again at these patterns created a wholly different feeling compared to his first visit.

These patterns were like living entities belonging to themselves. When he rested his gaze on them, he faintly perceived something.

Long Dangdang knew that each of these patterns represented a skill handed down by a predecessor knight. The higher the pattern, the greater the power of the legacy skill. The skills deposited in the Impartation Hall began at a minimum of the 5th rank and were created by the predecessors of the knight lineage themselves.

The top three meters of the area seemed somewhat illusory. Despite his current spiritual power, Long Dangdang couldn’t discern what was up there. However, he knew that those residual skills belonged to the predecessors of the God’s Seal knights, the pinnacle battle tactics of the Knights Temple. To inherit those skills, one required not only the appropriate status but also had to pass tests. Each impartation skill carried a unique test, second only to the tests of the six Great God’s Seal Cathedras Rex.

Taking a deep breath, Long Dangdang first attended to his mood before he sat down to meditate quietly. He had to adjust his state first before he could start choosing what skills he wanted to learn.

The careful contemplation leading him to choose the Knights Temple over the Magic Temple was due to prioritizing team assistance over individual strength as a team captain. What disappointed him somewhat was his spiritual power still hadn’t managed to break into the 6th rank. In reality, given the Icy Moon Angel’s assisted cultivation, his rate of cultivation should have triggered a breakthrough long ago. However, due to the refinement filtering of the Clear Moon Vast Ocean Spirit Furnace and absorption by the spirit furnace and his two magical beast partners, his spiritual power improvement significantly slowed down, even dwindling behind Long Kongkong’s. Long Kongkong was now on the brink of rank 5 and once crossed, would officially become a 5th Rank Earth Knight. With several Wisdom Spirit Furnaces alongside his Holy Diversion Spirit Furnace assistances, this posed virtually no problems for Long Kongkong.

...

While hot water washed over his body, the invigorating feeling was indubitably one of the most delightful human experiences. Yet, Long Kongkong, in the present moment, wasn’t enjoying it at all. He was just nervous.

Hep Benn had suggested he take a bath, and he nearly walked straight into her boudoir. Instead, he ended up being hounded to a guest room. Even so, his heart raced persistently.

Thump, thump, thump. The sound of a knock echoed outside, and although it was muffled by the bathroom door, Long Kongkong heard it clearly. Later, he heard the door open, and Hep Benn’s footsteps followed.

Instinctively, Long Kongkong crossed his arms around his chest. What was the goddess planning?

"Kongkong, I’ve set out a clean set of my dad’s clothes for you. I’ll wash yours. You can change into these when you’re done," Hep Benn said.

"Ah? Oh, okay... alright..." All Long Kongkong could feel was that his social adeptness had suddenly been cured.

It wasn’t until after he finished his bath and changed into fresh clothes that he let out a sigh of relief, finally appreciating the refreshing after-bath feeling.

When he returned to the courtyard, he saw Hep Benn washing his clothes by the well. From the side, he could make out her enchanting figure. Hep Benn was a bit thin, not particularly voluptuous like some girls, but her body was remarkably harmonious, as if everything were in the right place. At least to Long Kongkong, she appeared perfectly so.

"Sister Hep, I can wash these myself," Long Kongkong said to her.

Hep Benn turned her head to glance at him, a bead of water had landed on her nose tip unknowingly, which she flicked off as she turned. She lightly moved her nose, "You rest for now. Are you not tired? The sun is strong today. By afternoon, your clothes should be dry. Tonight, you still have to help my dad at the store."
