Chapter 274: Chapter 136 Brutal Rat King_1
When Yue Li left the competition field, her gaze was always fixed on Long Dangdang. Zou Liang had already exhausted himself after the full outbreak of the Three Kings Roar. Yet she still seemed to be managing effortlessly, and the difference in their strength was clear.
Without the Three Kings Shield, Zou Liang would hardly have the qualifications to stand in front of Yue Li. It had to be said that this Glorious Class premium equipment has immense power, both offensive and defensive. Even a 7th or 8th Rank shield warrior could use it effectively. Zou Liang, with his current strength, couldn’t even fully unleash its power.
When Yue Li stepped down and approached Long Dangdang, she was about to sit down but saw that Long Dangdang was already getting up to leave.
"How was it?" Yue Li followed Long Dangdang and asked with a hint of pride.
"Very good." Long Dangdang replied as he walked. Yue Li’s competition was over and he wanted to check on Kongkong’s match and support his younger brother.
"Impressive, right? My Simultaneous Solar-Lunar Radiation Spirit Furnace isn’t completely proficient yet after advancing, but I’ll get stronger." Yue Li said cheerfully.
"I never thought Glorious Class equipment could be so powerful. No wonder the teacher said equipment is an essential part of strength." Growing thoughtful, Long Dangdang said as he walked.
There was a momentary stiffness on Yue Li’s face, "Hey, isn’t it me, who defeated the Three Kings Shield, who should be considered stronger?"
Long Dangdang turned to look at her, his handsome face breaking into a smile. The sight left Yue Li momentarily entranced, "Stronger, you say? Yes, indeed much stronger." Long Dangdang concurred.
Is he just humoring her? Yue Li was offended, her hands on her hips in annoyance.
Long Dangdang waved in farewell and hurried away towards the field where the Magic Temple preliminary matches had taken place.
Yue Li stomped her foot in frustration. That guy! Didn’t he say he was only fifteen? Why did he act so enlightened? Like some old man. He’s heading to watch his brother’s competition? Well, she would too!
As she thought, she immediately quickened her steps, pursuing Long Dangdang.
When Long Kongkong arrived on stage, he felt a twinge of fear. After admitting defeat yesterday, he had left the field at once. Today, it was still Zisang Liuying in the first match with him being the second. So, of course, he had to stay and watch, waiting for his turn.
In the just concluded match, facing a knight, Zisang Liuying had displayed terrifying offensive power. The knight couldn’t even come within twenty meters of her. The flurry of Magic attacks left the Knight only able to fend them off, finally being blasted off the field.
Zisang Liuying didn’t even use any Magic above the 3rd Rank, but the explosive power and density of her Magic, coupled with occasional low rank combination Magic, was best described as a storm. The sight terrified Long Kongkong.
Too terrifying! The Elements Saintess was truly horrifying!
Fortunately, he had had the self-realization not to try yesterday. Otherwise, he’d have been defeated utterly.
Now, his opponent for the second match was a summoner, a cute short-haired girl. Long Kongkong recognized her as a Spirit Furnace Academy summoner, but not from the first-year class, hence, she must be older than him.
The girl, barely over 1.6 meters tall, was small and exquisite. She was wearing the Spirit Furnace Academy uniform, had neatly cropped short hair, and a pale, beautiful face with jade green eyes that belied her youth.
"Hello, little sister. Are you from Summoners Class Two or Three?" Long Kongkong asked with a grin.
"Jerk! Open your eyes wide and look at me! I’m a male, pure macho man! Understand?" One thing Tao Linlin hated more than anything else was being mistaken for a girl. The comment made him roar madly in his somewhat weak voice.
"What? A boy?" Long Kongkong asked, looking him up and down in surprise. "You’re really a boy? Then why are you so short?"
"Who are you calling short? I haven’t grown yet!" Tao Linlin resembled a cat whose tail had been stepped on, jumping more than a meter off the ground.
"How old are you and you still haven’t grown? Are you over 18 yet? Can males grow after turning 18?" Long Kongkong questioned.
Tao Linlin couldn’t refute the comment, as he had just turned 18 this year...
"Alright, that’s enough," the referee interrupted the two amidst their "exchange", glanced at Long Kongkong and warned, "No insulting the opponent, that’s your first warning."
"But I didn’t insult him!" Long Kongkong protested innocently.
"Let the match begin!" The referee, not caring for further arguments, declared the start of the match. Any grievances were to be settled in the competition.
Tao Linlin shot Long Kongkong a furious look. Hearing the referee announce the start of the match, his eyes immediately lit up. He rapidly retreated as a unique looking magic staff appeared in his hand.
The handle of the staff was like an irregular tree branch, curled and twisted, just over a foot long. The top was made of jade green leaves, shaped like a windmill. Six leaves of different shades of green emitted strange halos at a glance, marking it as no ordinary staff.
