Chapter 216: Chapter 107 Five-Clawed Golden Dragon_1
"I’m sorry, I am not worthy to be your mount." When the giant bear, with its dark golden fur, turned and walked away, it became the seventh magical beast that Long Dangdang deemed suitable that rejected him. All of them were at minimum of the 9th rank.
But ever since the Evil Eye Tyrant, half-step sovereign, all the magical beasts gave him the same replies: "I am unworthy!"
Although his cousin had warned him before that being born with a magnitude 90 inner spiritual power, and being a prodigy of Luminosity, most mounts would think they’re unworthy of his talents. So it wasn’t so simple as him wanting to settle with just any mount. Even when a mount rejected him, there was nothing he could do about it.
Long Dangdang felt helpless. His only console was that he had signed a pact with Little Evil Eye. It was a relief to have at least one guarantee.
Half a day had already passed. Although the magical beasts he met had not agreed to sign a pact with him, they had guided him deeper into the Knights’ Holy Mountain. The deeper he went, the higher rank magical beasts he might encounter, so Long Dangdang could only keep pushing inward.
All the while, he attempted to locate his younger brother Long Kongkong but to no avail.
He quickened his pace, hoping that the magical beasts deeper within the mountain would have more confidence.
The magical beasts inside the Knights’ Holy Mountain should be under a pact with the Knights Temple and are relatively friendly. Despite the journey, he hadn’t faced any danger. After all, all the magical beasts he met in this area were significantly stronger than him. Any real dangers would spell trouble.
After crossing a forest and a hilly area, the scenery opened up before him. He was surprised to see a towering mountain appearing in his vision.
The peak of the massive mountain was lost in the clouds, with its foot barely visible. The enormity of the barren mountain was awe-inspiring.
Could this be the actual Knights’ Holy Mountain? Long Dangdang wondered and decided to move forward. Since he was already here, he needed to take a closer look.
With these thoughts, Long Dangdang quickened his steps towards the mountain.
The so-called "keep going despite all hardships," as the mountain that didn’t seem too far away now felt distant as he approached. Till dusk, Long Dangdang had not yet reached the foot of the mountain.
He found a relatively high raised point to sit and rest, planning to meditate, adjust his condition, then continue forwards. The time to find a magical beast was limited, he did not plan on sleeping.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the mountain, Long Kongkong also caught sight of the tall mountain.
"Do you think there might be a giant dragon living on this mountain, Small Tree? I think it’s possible. My dream of becoming a dragon knight might come true here."
"Hmm," Small Tree responded, obviously not holding much hope.
"Ouch!" Walking forward, Long Kongkong suddenly felt as if he ran into something. He was thrown back, landing on his buttocks with a loud thud.
"Ouch-" He screamed in pain. He wiped his nose and there was blood on his hands.
"What the hell?" Long Kongkong exclaimed in surprise. He now finally saw that there seemed to be an almost imperceptible light membrane where he had collided.
He got up while holding his nose, and reached out towards the light membrane. And then, he heard a deep voice, "Divine Beasts Zone, only for the chosen." The sound seemed to resonate from all around him, making his brain buzz.
"What does ’the chosen’ mean?" Long Kongkong mumbled to himself in confusion.
"It probably means someone highly talented." Small Tree answered, appearing somewhat surprised as it looked at the translucent barrier.
"You mean I can’t go in?" Long Kongkong pounded on the barrier. It was incredibly durable, and he clearly lacked the cultivation level to penetrate it.
Small Tree remained silent, not saying anything to dash his hopes.
He wouldn’t let him in? Long Kongkong’s eyes widened in disbelief. Why wouldn’t he let him in? The Knight’s Holy Mountain was being incredibly unfriendly!
"Hey, you can’t treat me like this! I was directly sent into the leaders’ zone. I will become a dragon knight in the future. How could you not let me in?" Long Kongkong beat the protective shield in front of him while ranting, expressing his frustration and feelings of discrimination for having a lower talent level.
In fact, if anyone initially had his level of talent, they would have no chance of entering the Knights’ Holy Mountain either. But he was too upset with his current situation to think about that, and only felt greatly insulted.
Small Tree hovered next to him, its light subtly glowing, but made no moves. However, at that moment, something unexpected happened.
The moment Long Kongkong hit the light barrier with his hands, the blood from his nose smeared onto the barrier. A strange hum echoed from the barrier, and everything seemed to start vibrating. The vibrations in the air caused his body to tremble and move backwards. Then, he saw a light purple color spread across the surface of the barrier, a deep shade of purple.
With the emergence of the purple color causing the originally transparent barrier to become clearly visible, the trembling intensified.
