Chapter 174: Chapter 86 The Business-Minded Dragon Kongkong_2

Long Dangdang asked, astonished, "Is that an artificial spirit furnace?"

Long Kongkong shook his head, "No, it is naturally conjured by the spirit furnace itself!"

Long Dangdang, who usually kept his composure, found his breaths growing slightly rapid with excitement. The Elemental Vortex Spirit Furnace didn’t mean much in the past; though it had value, it stood low in the hierarchy of the 6 Great Sacred Temples. However, things changed after Long Kongkong fused with the Elemental Vortex Spirit Furnace and uncovered its true properties. It proved most compatible with those lacking innate talent, fundamentally transforming their constitution. Not to mention Small Tree’s hypothesis, if it proves true, the Elemental Vortex Spirit Furnace could be humanity’s salvation.

The problem was, the Elemental Vortex Spirit Furnace fused with Long Kongkong was the last one stored within the 6 Great Sacred Temples. Now his younger brother claimed that his Elemental Vortex Spirit Furnace could spawn new ones. What did this mean? How could one possibly determine the value of such a spirit furnace?

"Am I making sense now?" Long Kongkong asked with some pride.

Long Dangdang agreed, "Of course, if what you say is true. But we have to wait until the new spirit furnace is truly conjured. Until then, it’s all talk."

"That’s exactly what I had in mind. If it’s successful, I plan to make a business out of this, selling Elemental Vortex Spirit Furnaces. Then we’ll have enough money to buy equipment," Long Kongkong mentioned his plans.

Long Dangdang added, "And there’s more. If your Elemental Vortex Spirit Furnace can be used against wraith entities, its value would extend beyond money – it would also be a great merit."

Grinning ear to ear, Long Kongkong asked, "So brother, do you think this business plan is worth investing in?"

With a slight frown, Long Dangdang asked, "How to invest?"

"I can sense that if I absorb more heavenly and earthly treasures, it would be easier to conjure a new Elemental Vortex Spirit Furnace. How about this? You lend me a thousand Gold Coins first, so I can buy some supplements. Once we start earning money from the business, we three can split the profits equally. After all, the contribution in conjuring a new spirit furnace is ours and cousin’s. What do you think?" Long Kongkong proposed.

Long Dangdang laughed, "So you speak so much just to lead up to that? Tell me, what do you need a thousand Gold Coins for?"

With wide-open eyes, Long Kongkong responded, "Didn’t I just tell you? To buy nourishing items! Heavenly and earthly treasures."

"Tell me the truth, or get out," snapped Long Dangdang.

Instantly, Long Kongkong’s face slumped, "Brother, we’ve got the assessment tomorrow, I don’t know for how long, and certainly not in Holy City. I can’t work in this situation. Before leaving, I want to buy a gift for the goddess, to give her something to remember me by. What if she forgets me?"

Long Dangdang smirked, "Forgetting you may be the biggest boon of her life."

Long Kongkong’s face fell even more. "Brother, I beg you, for the sake of your dear brother’s future happiness."

Long Dangdang remarked, "Wow, you’re quite serious about this one! It’s been persistent for a while."

Long Kongkong responded, "It was love at first sight."

Long Dangdang calmly offered, "I don’t have a thousand Gold Coins, but would a hundred Gold Coins do? That’s the maximum credit limit you can claim."

"That’s it? At least give me five hundred!" Long Kongkong complained.

Long Dangdang stared at him, "Do you know how much a typical family spends in a year? You think a hundred Gold Coins are less? I’ve been in Holy City and I’ve not spent ten Gold Coins in total. How many do you earn a month there?"

"Alright, alright, stop lecturing me. One hundred it is then." Long Kongkong conceded.

Long Dangdang took out ten Gold Coins and tossed them to him, "Your maximum credit limit is a hundred, but you can only withdraw ten at a time. That’s more than enough to buy a gift. Now get out."

"How can you treat me like this? I’m your blood brother!" Long Kongkong made a face.

Ignoring him, Long Dangdang went straight to the cultivation chamber.

Long Kongkong made a face at his retreating figure, his face filled with laughter as he jingled the coins in his hand.

What should he buy for the goddess? He couldn’t merely cast a magic spell like last time; it had to be something lasting, something that would remind her of him. Alright, off to the city.

Long Kongkong arrived in Holy City through the teleportation array formation and decided to first visit the rib shop. As expected, since it wasn’t a day off, Hep Benn wasn’t around, probably at school. No issues there, he knew Hep Benn would go home every evening after school.

Although he had spent many days in Holy City, he had never really explored this metropolis. He only had dinner with Hep Benn and it was always at night.

During the day, Holy City was teeming with people and bustled with activity. Despite not being a holiday, it was as lively as ever. Looking at such a scene, Long Kongkong realized why the Federation Government had kept them in the dark.

With that in mind, he instinctively looked back at the Sacred Legate, now quite some distance behind him, his gaze freezing for a moment. He couldn’t forget what his grandfather said that day, and he knew his brother wouldn’t either. That day, although they had received many great treasures from the Ling family, his brother didn’t say a word on their way back. Their mother... how could they feel at ease knowing what their mother had been put through?

The Sacred Legate! Humph!

Just then, Hep Benn’s image appeared in his mind. Imagining his goddess, his gaze softened.

As he walked around, looking here and there, he quickly noticed a shop – a jeweler. From the street, one could make out the gleam of pearls and gemstones inside.

Without thinking, Long Kongkong walked in. As soon as he entered, his eyes lit up. Straight ahead, on a counter, was a necklace draped on a mannequin that caught his attention.

It was a sterling silver necklace with a ruby pendant roughly the size of a thumbnail. It had a simple design, not too flashy, but the deep, pigeon blood red hue was mesmerizingly beautiful.

What a beautiful necklace! If it hung around the goddess’s slender, fair neck, it would look fantastic, wouldn’t it?

"How much for this necklace? I’ll take it!" Without hesitation, Long Kongkong pointed at the necklace and loudly declared.
