Chapter 586: Chapter 389: Many People Want Good Things! _2

"I’m also glad to see you..." Sean Knight is not familiar with Kenton Nelson, he is more concerned about those things, so he asked straightforwardly:

"Mr. Kenton, those items haven’t been bought yet, have they?"

"No, no. Little Andrew has been waiting for more customers to maximize his profits...of course, he doesn’t have much time left."

"How many customers are there currently? Is he planning to hold an auction?" Sean Knight asked.

"Yes, it’s a private inner auction." Kenton Nelson explained further, "Mr. Knight, you don’t need to call me Mr. Nelson, just call me Kenton. I dare not presume to call myself ’Mr.’ in front of you."

"Okay, Kenton." Sean Knight agreed easily, "When it starts, give me a call. You should also tell Andrew so he doesn’t deny us entry when the time comes."

"No problem." Kenton guaranteed, then smiled, "Anyway, I’ve nothing much to do now. Since you plan to go around here, how about I act as your guide?"

"Sure." Sean Knight was quite curious about Moscow. After all, his grandfather always told stories about their initial respect for the Soviet Union which were genuine.

Later, their relationship strained, but the early assistance of the Soviets, and their scientists who came to teach were real. Hence, for the Moscow generation of Ralph Knight, their feelings towards the Soviet Union were complicated.

And that made Sean rather curious as well.

Upon arriving in Moscow, the Kremlin and Red Square were must-sees, Kenton was quite familiar with these places, showing Sean and his team around while introducing them to the local customs, including certain taboos.

On the Red Square, someone was watching Sean and his team through a telescope from far away.

After confirming Sean and the two persons following him, as well as Kenton Nelson, the person left.

Sean noticed something, but when he turned to look, he couldn’t find the target.

He didn’t take it lightly, but nothing unusual happened over the next two days.

Was he overthinking?

"Boss, Sean has already arrived in Moscow with his people, we’ve confirmed it. His guide is Andrew’s Chinese friend, Kenton."

"Alright, don’t startle the snake in the grass. Once the auction is over, split your team into two and execute the plan!"

"Understood." After hanging up the phone, the person went to the five-star hotel where Sean and his team were staying, specially booking a room on the same floor as theirs.

"Mr. Knight, Andrew is planning to auction them off tomorrow. I’ll come to pick you up in the morning, so be prepared." That evening, Kenton escorted Sean and his team back to the hotel, informing them before he left.

"Alright, we’re aware."

After Kenton left, Sean summoned Elijah Hastings and Lincoln Harrington to his room, saying:

"The formal operation is tomorrow. I hope nothing will go wrong, but we can’t pin our hopes on others in these situations."

"Yes, it feels like some people here are not very friendly." Douglas Cooper had a lot of thoughts on this matter after spending a couple of days here. There were those who were friendly, those who ignored them, and those who were hostile.

Very normal.

"I will prepare some weapons at that time, depending on the actual situation. If there’s no trouble when we reach the site, let’s pretend nothing happened. If there’s trouble, you two stay close to me. I’ll provide the weapons, and you provide the fighting power."

"No problem!" Both Lincoln and Douglas were already used to Sean’s special resources.

That night in the hotel, Sean was watching the news leisurely when suddenly he saw a broadcast - the Americans had started to investigate and confiscate assets from Russian merchants in the country.

This made Sean Knight’s eyes widen, it was big news!

Giving it some thought, considering the current not-so-good relationship between China and the U.S., what if...

Immediately, he pulled out his phone and called Kathy Lewis.

"Hello, Mr. Knight."

Just two days ago, Kathy had reported to Sean about the current state of his properties, which were all normal at the moment.

"Ms. Kathy, there’s an important matter I need to discuss with you."

Once Sean mentioned this, Kathy immediately knew that there might be a big issue and said:

"Go ahead, Mr. Knight."

"Except for the properties left by my Uncle Jeremy Knight, everything else, including the villas and farmhouses, slowly sell them off. Use the obtained funds to buy gold and keep it in the bank."

"Why do we need to do this?" Kathy was a little puzzled, "The current industries are functioning well, they’re great assets..."

"Because I am Chinese." Sean Knight only explained this much.

Kathy began to understand now.

Since Sean had said so, she could only follow his instructions.

Fortunately, Sean’s decision to leave Jeremy’s assets untouched gave her some measure of comfort.

"Damn politics!" Kathy cursed before hanging up the phone.

Sean thought to himself, I don’t want this either.

But who can resist the tyranny of the world? The harbinger of shamelessness and underhanded tactics.

The second day after breakfast, Kenton arrived at the hotel with exact timing.

Sean and the others climbed into Kenton’s second-hand Mercedes and headed directly to the suburbs.

As Kenton drove, he narrated:

"Little Andrew had sold all his property in the city. The items he wishes to auction off now are in a small farmhouse in the suburbs. This whole thing has the silent approval of the big shots, so Andrew hasn’t been apprehended yet, but he can’t leave Moscow."

The fourth ring road is known as the outer ring of Moscow, and beyond it lies the suburbs. However, after passing the fourth ring, Kenton had no intention of slowing down and maintained a high speed.

"Andrew’s ancestors originated from that little farmhouse. Although he amassed wealth later, he never sold off that farmhouse. In old days, it was for memory’s sake.

Upon retrospection, his ancestors were quite wise. However, it’s quite far away. I’ve only been there twice recently."

As he said this, he glanced through the rear-view mirror at Sean in the backseat and continued:

"Initially, I wanted to buy the Jade Ruyi beforehand, but Little Andrew disagreed."

Kenton’s honesty made Sean think that his earlier doubts were unfounded.

However, when you’re abroad, one can never be too cautious.

Never be too kind, not even towards your friends.

Finally, after an hour-long drive, they arrived at a seldom-visited farmhouse.

The farmhouse was enclosed by a fence made of tree branches, and several cars were already parked by the road at the entrance.

Kenton parked by the road, stating:

"The conditions here are slightly poor; there’s no designated parking lot, it’s okay to park on the road. After the items are bought, we can drive straight away."

He then joked,

"Parking out here is worry-free, no one’s gonna give a parking ticket."

The four of them got off the car and headed towards the farmhouse.

The front gate of the farmhouse was constructed from thick wood and painted blue, it looked quite appealing.

As the four approached, a sudden barking noise erupted from within. Kenton called out,

"Stop barking, it’s me!"

Then he turned to Sean and explained,

"There are four dogs in the farmhouse for security, no need to knock. Once the dogs bark, the people inside know someone’s here."

Apparently, the dogs recognized Kenton’s voice. After a few whimpers, they stopped barking. Shortly after, footsteps could be heard approaching.

Someone from inside started speaking Russian. After Kenton had responded a couple of sentences, the door opened.

A middle-aged, heavily bearded, fat Russian appeared before them.

"This is Andrew", Kenton introduced them to each other, then he introduced Sean to Andrew in Russian.

Whilst Andrew appeared somewhat haggard, seeing Sean made him smile and he extended his hand, he awkwardly said in Chinese,

"Welcome...you!"

Sean shook his hand and responded,

"Nice to meet you!"

The group went inside, and before long, Sean was reunited with the objects that he had been yearning for.

At this moment, two cars were approaching from afar.

However, these two cars did not park near the farmhouse, but instead stopped one kilometer out.

Six or seven people piled out of the cars, and after a brief discussion, three slipped into the woods by the roadside and vanished.

The remaining people set up an ambush on both sides of the road, disguising their presence.
