Chapter 585: Chapter 389: There are many people who want good things!

Sean sent a message to Elijah and the others, explaining that he was going to Moscow this time.

"Boss, I need to take a leave this time." To Sean’s surprise, the first one to ask for a leave was Elijah.

"Sure." Sean agreed without hesitation, "Is there some good news coming up?"

"Yes. These days we are discussing buying a house, decorating, paying the bride price, and getting married. In two days, I need to go to my partner’s family home..."

"This is a big deal," Sean laughed, "You go ahead and focus on your own business, anyway, this trip is just to buy some stuff, there shouldn’t be any danger."

"Alright, sorry, boss." Elijah was still somewhat apologetic.

"No need to say sorry, do we even need to mention this? Besides, your matter is a major event in your life and can’t be delayed."

After hanging up the call, Douglas Cooper called next.

"Boss? Do we have a new task? I was going to buy a ticket to your place tomorrow!" Douglas sounded very relaxed over the phone.

However, Sean had sharp ears and heard someone nagging on the other side:

"You just got back and now you’re leaving again, do you consider this your home?"

"Do you guys even treat me like family?" Douglas replied with his hand covering the microphone, "As soon as I get back, you ask me for money. Have you ever cared about whether I’m safe or in danger outside? I’m leaving so you won’t feel like I’m extra weight at home!"

Upon hearing this, Sean was stunned.

Had Douglas’s relationship with his family deteriorated to this extent?

"Boss, I’ll be there tomorrow." Douglas released the hand covering the microphone and said, "Goodbye!"

Hanging up the phone, Sean sighed.

With this matter, all he could do was sigh, he had no way of intervening.

Every family has its hard times.

After waiting for a while, not receiving a call from Lincoln Harrington, Sean opened his mobile phone and looked for any messages.

Lincoln had already sent a message:

"Boss, I’ve booked a flight for tonight, see you tomorrow morning. By the way, remember to tell your aunt that I’ll be having breakfast at your house."

That’s a bit too harsh, isn’t it?

Having learned about Douglas’s situation, Sean worried that something had happened at Lincoln’s home and immediately called him.

"Lincoln, how’s your home situation?"

"All good." Lincoln’s words were still as brief as ever, "I’m packing."

"There’s no need to rush, we still have time."

"It’s fine, my family understands."

"Alright then... Stay safe on the road."

Knowing he couldn’t persuade him, Sean simply stopped trying.

He planned to give them a break after this matter was settled...preferably resolving Douglas’ family issues.

At dinner time, Mark Knight returned from the store and shared a piece of news.

"Sean has gotten rid of a menace for the village this time."

Nancy Knight served the dishes and asked:

"What kind of menace?"

"That damn Shawn Jenkins!" Mark Knight sat on the sofa and said, "It turns out that the broken families and ruined lives in the village in recent years were all the result of his collusion with others to set up gambling schemes!

In just a few years, he’s swindled millions through gambling, affecting not only our village but also others. This time, his family is in trouble! His parents knew about this and covered for him. Those beasts..."

"It’s a pity for the two young children of his family, who are just a few years old..." Nancy sighed.

"The village will be quieter from now on. It won’t be such a mess anymore." Ralph Knight looked at Sean and said approvingly, "Sean, you did the right thing!"

"That’s right." Mark Knight laughed, "Everyone in the village is praising him. Maybe tomorrow someone will come with gifts to thank Sean."

Sean waved his hand:

"I only thought of this because he annoyed me - who would’ve known that the mole was Shawn Jenkins."

It is what it is.

The family didn’t usually have dinner. However, since Sean was back, they made bean porridge for dinner, served with a couple of side dishes, which tasted very refreshing.

Early the next day, Lincoln had already arrived at Sean’s house.

Breakfast was simple: corn porridge, egg garlic unique to some regions of Central Plains, freshly steamed buns, stir-fried shredded potatoes, and sliced braised beef.

Mark Knight and Nancy Knight attributed the main credit for saving Oscar to Elijah, Lincoln, and Douglas; thus, they treated Lincoln exceptionally warmly, making him feel a bit uncomfortable.

In the afternoon, Douglas arrived and was warmly welcomed as well.

That night, Douglas secretly said to Sean:

"Boss, aren’t your uncle and aunt a little too warm and welcoming? What’s the deal?"

"My parents are grateful to you guys for saving my brother." Sean explained frankly, "So you should enjoy the food and drinks here, and in two days, we’ll set off."

"Alright, that settles my mind." Douglas laughed and agreed, hiding the sadness in his heart.

Two days later, Sean and the two others boarded the flight to Moscow. Due to the transfer, they spent an extra day on the road and arrived in Moscow in the afternoon.

The three of them went straight to the reserved hotel, rested well until the next day, and then Sean called Kenton Nelson.

Kenton had already heard that Sean was coming but couldn’t initiate contact himself. Now that Sean had called, he immediately asked for Sean’s location and rushed over.

"You guys are so rich, living in such a luxurious place!" Entering the hotel room and seeing Sean, Kenton laughed and said:

"Allow me to introduce myself, my name is Kenton Nelson, a businessman in foreign trade, and I’m very happy to see you all!"
