Chapter 524: Chapter 359: Undying Heart

Sean Knight didn’t care about Douglas Cooper’s words, laughing and saying:

"How could I sell it? However, it’s not suitable for exhibition for now, especially that Nine Dragons and Nine Phoenixes Crown. As soon as it’s displayed, the other party will definitely know."

"It’s good that you won’t sell it." Douglas smiled, "Boss, don’t blame me for being blunt, but I think this thing can’t be sold anymore. Anyway, we know your character, and we’d feel at ease if it’s in your hands."

That’s it for now.

The second day, Sean called Elijah Hastings and the others to his study room.

"This..." Seeing the exquisite phoenix crown on display in the study, the three were almost holding their breaths.

This is not like the ones they saw in museums, the kind behind glass that you were not allowed to take pictures of.

Seeing the national treasure level cultural relic right in front of them, the three were a little cautious.

"It’s adorned with hundreds of gemstones and thousands of pearls," Sean gave a simple introduction, "with a gold thread woven base; it’s exquisite, truly exquisite!"

"The luxury of our ancestors in that era." Lincoln whispered.

"Not something ordinary people can afford."

"But I don’t know if Empress Ma or Thomas had said it, that brides can have phoenix crowns when they get married." Douglas joined in, "The rich and noble families doing this should be alright, right?"

"The styles should be different." Sean added.

"Alright, boss, put it away. We’re satisfied with just a peek at this thing." Elijah said, "Keeping it here might not be considered proper preservation; let’s not ruin it."

Everyone knew that there were only a few of these things in the entire world, truly national treasure level, so no matter how much effort was put into preserving them, it wouldn’t be too much.

"The remaining items are mostly paintings and calligraphy, which I won’t take out. I’m afraid of damaging them." Sean said, "I’ll put them away first, and when there’s an opportunity, I’ll bring them back to China."

This matter came to an end here.

That night, Elijah and the others stayed in Sean’s villa.

For now, Sean’s security was still the top priority, so protecting Sean on a daily basis was their primary task.

In the following days, the police didn’t give Sean any trouble, as the lawyer had basically sorted everything out.

Of course, this was also because Sean didn’t leave any holes for them at that time.

Even if the police wanted to make things difficult for Sean, they needed an opening, but they couldn’t find one.

After all, this wasn’t a political incident. It wasn’t like detaining some young lady and finding any random excuse would do.

Some people weren’t willing to arbitrarily arrest others just for some cultural relics.

Returning to New York, Sean took a two-day break and visited the freight yard. He found that everything was running smoothly under the new manager.

Sean activated Sky Eye, didn’t find any issues, and thus, entrusted them with the management of the place.

After seeing Joanna, she told him that her father Robert had come back once and left some money, saying he wanted to repay Sean in advance.

Sean hugged Joanna and said:

"Just leave that money with you. I often go treasure hunting, so I don’t keep a regular schedule. If you like something, just buy it."

Joanna knew about Sean’s straightforward mindset, and since he said so, she didn’t insist further.

However, in Joanna’s mind, the money was still for her father, as funds to expand the fleet. Once money was earned, it would count as Sean’s share.

The two of them enjoyed their sweet time together until five days later.

"I heard that the Winston family lost big this time." At dinner, Douglas, who liked to watch the news, brought up a piece of news he saw today.

"Why did they lose big?" Elijah asked, "Even if they lose, they deserve it, right?"

"It’s said that the Metropolitan Museum is a little upset because they didn’t receive anything. Although they say they don’t mind since they’ve been robbed, and there’s nothing they can do about it.

But in the end, they still lost face, and it seems the Winston family only got away after donating one million dollars."

"It seems they are still wealthy!" Lincoln responded and continued eating.

"It’s said that the Ocean Museum originally paid 4.5 million for some of their cultural relics, and they were planning to pay 8 million this time, but they... didn’t want it."

"And then they wanted to donate it for free?" Elijah sneered.

"Anyway, it’s none of our business," Sean said, "We should spend more time looking after the Third Prince instead. I feel that Ms. Kathy has been overfeeding it recently."

The white, almost transparent salamander-like creature brought back from the bottom of Swan Lake was named "Third Prince" by Kathy, a rather classical name.

In her view, it did resemble a Chinese dragon.

Kathy bought a large tank for the Third Prince, filled it with aquatic plants, and fed it regularly.

Surprisingly, the Third Prince thrived and grew fatter.

"You’re right; the Third Prince does look quite good." Douglas said, "It’s a shame there’s only one. I took a video and sent it to my classmates; they thought it looked too much like a dragon and that we should take it back for a closer look."

"We’ll wait for an opportunity," Sean said.

After dinner, Sean and Joanna had a phone call chat, and then they decided to rest.

In a large SUV parked 500 meters away from the villa, seven fully armed men were discussing tactical issues.

An Asian man joked:

"With opponents like these, there’s basically no suspense when the few of us make a move. The employer this time is quite generous. I’m really good at dealing with Chinese pigs!"
