Chapter 520: Chapter 457: A Big Task Has Arrived!

After the upgrade of the Sky Eye, in addition to detecting farther and clearer, the most important function was to mobilize the stored energy in the Sky Eye to continuously improve Sean Knight’s body.

Not only did it improve his physical fitness, but when Sean’s body was injured, it could quickly mobilize energy to heal the wound and help him recover as soon as possible!

This was awesome!

Another function was to speed up the absorption of free energy from nature.

There was a similar function before, but the absorption speed was relatively slow.

Now the speed was about ten times that of before. It was enough to deal with ordinary events.

After the upgrade, the amount of energy that the Sky Eye could store was massive. The energy in the skull used only one-third to break through the barrier and upgrade the Sky Eye.

However, after the upgrade, all the energy in the skull was transferred to the Sky Eye, but it still couldn’t fill one-fifth of the Sky Eye’s capacity!

But after the breakthrough, Sean stopped and put the skull into the spatial realm, then returned to the campsite.

Only then did he realize that it had gotten dark.

Unconsciously, several hours had passed.

For the next few days, Sean would dive into the water every day to salvage, and then bring up two or three sacrificial implements.

In the afternoon, he would go out as usual, find a big tree, and start absorbing the energy from other parts of the human bones.

Fortunately, the energy in other bones was not as much as in the skull.

In three days, Sean had absorbed all the energy from the entire human skeleton.

As expected, once the energy had been exhausted, all the human bones turned into a jade-like state.

They were very strange.

Sean just looked at them, and then dug a hole next to the big hollow, took out a rifle box from the spatial realm, cleaned out the rifle, and put the box in the hole.

In the end, he placed the boy’s bones piece by piece into the box, arranging them in the shape of a human.

Originally, Sean wanted to put a sacrificial implement in there, but finally decided against it. He didn’t want anyone else to detect it and cause the boy to not rest in peace.

After covering the box with a lid, Sean buried the hole without leaving a tombstone.

When all this was done, Sean felt like he had put down a burden, feeling much lighter and more relaxed.

Returning to the campsite, he sat by the bonfire and didn’t speak anymore.

At dinner time, Douglas Cooper said:

"The lake water has already returned to its original level, so it won’t be easy to catch roast fish anymore."

Sean thought for a moment and said:

"Then let’s stay here for two more days, and then we’ll go back. We’ve done enough here."

The joy on Douglas’s face was clear. Although they were used to living outdoors and had survived much harsher environments, who would want to stay here every day when they could live in a convenient and comfortable city?

That night, Sean went to bed early.

Surprisingly, he fell asleep quickly.

Then he saw the boy.

The boy with a soft glow all over his body walked over from the lake surface.

"Do you... have superhuman abilities?" Sean, who was standing by the lakeside, asked subconsciously, "How come you don’t sink?"

Instead of answering the question, the boy earnestly said:

"Thank you for gathering my body and returning it to the earth. In the name of the Feathered Serpent, I grant you good fortune... "

Sean felt absurd and asked:

"Are there really gods in this world? I can’t see any! Aren’t you just a kid with some superhuman abilities? Can you really grant me good fortune?"

The boy nodded, offered no explanation, and didn’t say anything else. He turned around and walked towards the center of the lake.

It was then that Sean realized something was wrong. He shouted immediately:

"Can you tell me where to find more treasures?"

The boy ignored Sean and walked to the center of the lake. His body suddenly emitted a dazzling light. Sean subconsciously activated the Sky Eye and saw the boy turn into a snake with feathers and wings, resembling the Feathered Serpent.

Then he disappeared.

Sean opened his eyes.

Looking up, he saw the top of the tent.

Because Lincoln Harrington and his companions changed the tree branches covering the tent every day, he could still smell the tree sap.

He couldn’t tell if it had been a dream or if the boy had really come to thank him.

Checking the time, it was only midnight.

He blinked, closed his eyes, and fell asleep again.

At daybreak, Sean ran to the lake surface and found nothing.

He then went to the burial site of the boy’s bones and saw that several small flowers had grown on the original filling soil, but there were no more changes.

Then Sean received a phone call from Robert.

"Sean, there’s some news I think I need to tell you."

It was normal for Robert to know Sean’s satellite phone number.

"Go ahead."

"Because of the Silicon Valley Bank incident, a family that came from China nearly a hundred years ago was unable to withdraw their money.

But due to the intervention of relevant departments, they have now taken out the money.

Out of gratitude, they want to donate a batch of cultural relics brought from China a hundred years ago to the Metropolitan Museum in New York."

"How many relics?" Sean’s breathing became rapid.

"More than one hundred and eighty pieces." Robert said, "I’ve received information that the most distinguished of them is said to be a phoenix crown from your Ming Dynasty in China, one with nine dragons and nine phoenixes... "
