Chapter 496: Chapter 345: My Territory, I Make the Rules!

The second day had barely dawned when a scream shattered the tranquility of the small town.

Sanitation workers in the town discovered Klaus and his companion, bound hands hanging from a street lamp pole, with their mouths taped shut.

Hearing the scream, people hurried over, wanting to help.

When they saw it was Klaus and his companion, they slowed down, pointed and whispered, then retreated.

They saw the words written in red paint on the two men:

"Car Thieves!"

The sun gradually rose, and batch after batch of people rushed to watch. By the time Jerry Sullivan came to rescue Klaus, they had both passed out.

Jerry knew who did it but could not show his anger. He had no choice but to take his men away.

In the hotel, Sean Knight and the others ate the food brought by Maggie.

"Was what happened to Klaus done by you guys?" Maggie brought more hot cocoa and said, "I think many people in the town would be grateful to you...

Jerry and his men have done a lot of bad things these years. Sheriff Edward doesn’t care about it much, so they got so arrogant."

Sean and the others shook their heads:

"No, no, no, I don’t know what you’re talking about. What happened to Klaus?"

Maggie looked at Sean, wanting to say something but ended up just laughing and saying no more.

After breakfast, saying goodbye to Maggie, Sean and the others drove out of the small town.

Less than one kilometer out of the town, they saw two cars blocking the road ahead.

Jerry was leading seven or eight men, each with a hunting rifle or pistol in hand, aiming at Sean and the others.

"Get out, bastards!"

Klaus, now conscious, was the angriest. He had been humiliated in public!

Now everyone in the town was gossiping and sneering at him. How could he continue to hang around in the town?

So the moment Jerry finished his sentence, Klaus fired at the windshield of the car!

He thought that this shot would injure or even kill Elijah Hastings, the driver. But to his surprise, the bullet left only a small white dot on the windshield!

Bulletproof glass!

This time, even the aggressive Jerry was stunned!

"Fire at will!"

Elijah stopped the car, opened the door, and started "calling names" with his pistol!

Behind them, Douglas Cooper and Lincoln Harrington were equally fast, firing their pistols at Jerry and his men in rapid mode!

Jerry was hit by the first wave, falling in a pool of blood without firing a single shot.

Some of his men shot back, others tried to run away, but none got more than five meters away!

A minute later, the three men holstered their guns. Sean sat in the passenger seat, watching the one-sided massacre.

He had a mobile phone in his hand, recording the whole process.

"Call the police." Sean didn’t plan to leave immediately, as it would be more troublesome to leave so close to the town.

Before he could call, the siren went off, and a police car arrived.

The Sheriff looked at the fallen people with a very ugly expression.

However, seeing the video on Sean’s mobile phone, he couldn’t say a word.

Jerry and his men had fired first and blocked the road with threats, but the four men beside him were obviously not easy to deal with.

Although he was the Sheriff, he had only one policeman with him. Trying to keep these men here by force was unrealistic.

In the end, Sean and the others were delayed in the town for one day before continuing their journey.

With the video as evidence, it didn’t take much effort for Sean and his friends to prove their innocence.

Self-defense with guns is allowed here. (When defending oneself, one can use deadly force to counterattack even if the opponent does not have deadly weapons but still poses a threat to one’s or one’s family/friends’ safety; it is not necessary to retreat when there is a choice to do so.)

So Sean and the others left the town safely.

As they left, they were cheered by many locals and were even fed a big bag of meat pies by Aunt Lily.

"The people here are so friendly!" On the road, Douglas said while eating a meat pie.

"That’s because we took care of those bastards."

Nine people in total, Jerry and his men included. Three dead and six injured had indeed scared many people.

Most of the families of these men lived in the town, yet nobody came to cause trouble for Sean and the others that day.

Although the Sheriff scowled the whole time, he didn’t give them a hard time either.

Sean guessed that the main reason might be that Jerry and the others were just too despicable, possibly with support from others, so they hadn’t been taken care of by the locals.

Sean and the others had done this deed, which might be very satisfying for them.

One day later, guided by Sean, they arrived at the base Brown had built.

"Huh? Someone’s there!"

Far away, Elijah noticed someone moving around at the campsite, and he immediately spoke up.

Sean stood up and looked over, indeed seeing people moving things around the campsite—there was even a truck!

"Those guys are stealing stuff!" Sean said angrily, "We can’t let them get away with this!"

The car sped towards them, and the noise drew the attention of the people there.

However, to Sean and the others’ surprise, the men didn’t immediately run away. They quickly moved things onto the truck and then went back into the campsite to get more.

Sean suddenly realized:
