Chapter 492: Chapter 343: Knocking Bones and Sucking Marrow

Sean Knight hung up the phone and said to Douglas Cooper, who was eating breakfast:

"Douglas, you and Lincoln Harrington can take action again. It seems that Frederick Hall is going to run away. Keep an eye on him, clean out his last bit of value, and then it’s up to you guys."

"Hehe, twelve lives, billions of losses, I know what to do." Douglas smiled and continued to eat.

Lincoln didn’t say anything.

Sean then said to Elijah Hastings:

"What we have to do is to cash in the deposit receipts we have collected."

Elijah was a little puzzled and asked:

"Boss, didn’t the government say that they can be fully exchanged? I saw some Americans still planning to deposit money in there..."

"That’s just to deceive people, do you believe it too?" Sean laughed, picking up a piece of pickled vegetables. "How could they possibly deposit more money when they are already going bankrupt? Didn’t you see the news? People were lining up for two kilometers when they said they could cash in?"

Elijah nodded and said he understood.

"Also, you see, it’s not just one bank that has declared bankruptcy these two days. If this goes on, won’t American financial credibility collapse? That’s why the government says they will bail them out—but if there are too many banks going bankrupt, they won’t be able to cover all!"

"Exactly." Douglas interjected, "There are already three banks now. No matter how much money the US can print, how much can they create? They also have to think about inflation... It’s better to cash in as soon as possible."

And so it was settled.

Frederick Hall hit a brick wall with Sean Knight, but Sean’s words also rang a warning bell for him.

In just this short moment, five or six more calls came in, and by looking at the numbers, they were all from the deposit receipt owners!

Frederick knew things had gotten worse!

Although the others were more reasonable, one of them used to be involved in the underworld on Harbor Island, and that guy would not care for Frederick’s explanations!

Frederick recognized that he really needed to run away, just like Sean had said!

It was a good thing that he had received several million dollars from Sean. Frederick quickly packed his things, leaving his assistant behind, and drove out of New York.

He definitely couldn’t go to the airport; it’s too easy for people to track his whereabouts there.

A black off-road vehicle followed closely behind his car.

Frederick Hall didn’t pay any attention to it, as there are many cars leaving New York, and he was focused on what was ahead.

As long as he left New York, he could hide in any city for a while with the several million dollars. It would be enough to live comfortably for some time.

On the road, Frederick was even thinking about going to a small town, buying a small farm, raising a few oxen, planting a vegetable garden, and hiring a couple of workers. Then he could retire in peace.

Frederick hadn’t brought his wife and child with him when he left. He hadn’t contacted them in those few years. Later, he heard through acquaintances that his daughter got into university and his wife remarried. And after that, he had no way back home.

So now he was even thinking about buying a farmhouse, marrying a white girl, and spending the rest of his life like that.

However, as he thought about it, he couldn’t help but feel discontented.

He had brought all his assets in New York with him when he left, so it didn’t take long for Frederick to change his mind again.

Once the storm had passed, he planned to sell the villa and the apartment, then move to another city and live a high-class life.

As a farm owner?

He hadn’t brought so much money from home to become a rich farmer!

While lost in thought, he failed to notice that a black off-road vehicle was following him the entire time.

Meanwhile, Sean Knight and Elijah Hastings had joined the queue.

Although they had many deposit receipts in hand, it didn’t grant Sean any special treatment.

But Sean wasn’t in a hurry. With his superhuman physical strength, he could stand for seven or eight hours straight without any problem.

By the time it was Sean’s turn, it was already the afternoon.

"Sir, your deposit amount is quite large, and it cannot be withdrawn all at once." The teller informed Sean.

"It’s okay, just take out as much as possible. I’ll come back tomorrow." Sean didn’t care.

Where else could he make tens of millions of dollars a day?

Sean planned to go to the bank to withdraw money every day for the next few days.

As night fell, Frederick arrived at the small town with his car.

Originally, he planned to spend the night outdoors to avoid leaving any traces.

But later, fear got to him.

In his home country, spending a night outdoors anywhere wouldn’t be a problem. But in America, it could be lethal.

There were already several cars parked outside the hotel in the small town.

The hotel also served food. Frederick got out of the car and looked at the messy environment, frowning.

He couldn’t remember how many years it had been since he had stayed and dined in such conditions.

However, there was no choice but to endure it now. Frederick eventually got out of the car.

He had a pistol in his pocket—although he had never used it, it could still threaten others in critical times.

After all, having it and not using it are two different things.

Frederick pushed the hotel door, and the hall became quiet.

Almost everyone’s eyes were on Frederick, accompanied by unclear intentions.

With so many people staring at him, some of them with ill intentions, Frederick’s scalp tingled.

But he forced himself to remain calm, walked up to the bar, and asked:

"Do you have rooms available?"

"Yes, want one?"

"I’ll take one. Also, a set meal, please deliver it to my room." Frederick didn’t plan on eating in the main hall. He felt uneasy.
