Chapter 464: Chapter 329: Disturbance and Sabotage

Seeing that the other two held the same view, Sean Knight chuckled before saying,

"Alright, three hundred thousand dollars each. We’ll settle for that."

With laughter resounding among Elijah Hastings and the others, it was evident that this was already a considerable amount.

They packed the gold back into the box and placed it in a sturdy handwoven bag. Sean Knight planned to take it back to the hotel after daybreak.

With their newfound fortune, the three friends became excited. Even if they wanted to sleep, they couldn’t. Instead, they took turns diving for fun.

Sean Knight didn’t join them, preferring to stay on the yacht and tinker with the box and tools.

As for the tools, they would hardly be needed anymore. The only task that remained was to safely bring the box aboard each day.

Of course, they had to be discreet. Otherwise, they would attract the attention of the port authorities and get into trouble.

While Sean Knight was occupied with the box, dawn had already broken. Elijah and his friends had also managed to catch some seafood – although the catch wasn’t substantial, given that they were near the port.

Cooking this small haul on the yacht’s stove, Lincoln Harrington planned to enjoy it as a snack later.

Abandoning their diving, they decided to return to the pier with the yacht.

At that moment, a loudspeaker’s voice echoed from outside:

"Attention crew of ship New F0001, immediately cease whatever you are doing and report to the deck for a security check!"

Upon hearing this, Sean Knight was taken aback. Wasn’t the New F0001 the name of his yacht?

What’s going on?

Elijah quickly came over to report,

"Boss, we’ve been singled out. That’s a marine police ship!"

"Who the hell reported us this time?"

Without a doubt, someone had informed on them. Otherwise, why would the marine police be here to inspect their ship right after daybreak?

"What should we do?" Elijah was anxious. While Lincoln and Douglas Cooper were dealing with the marine police, Elijah had come to consult with Sean Knight about "tampering with the evidence".

"Relax, you can go out. I’ll handle things here." Sean waved a hand, "This isn’t the first time I’ve dealt with something like this. We’ll be fine."

Elijah left, reassured. Sean Knight had already stowed away the gold. After some thought, he packed away the tools as well, leaving only the old iron box used for storing the gold. He filled the box with food gotten from his spatial realm.

Having checked his surroundings and finding nothing else suspicious, he then stepped out from the cabin onto the deck.

The marine police boat had pulled up, with the officers carrying out an inspection. Spotting Sean Knight, one of them impatiently asked:

"Why did you take so long to show yourself?"

"I was asleep, just heard you." Sean Knight responded, not at all ruffled, and cooperated with the inspection.

The officers checked him first and having found no issues, began inspecting the cabin. On finding the old box, two of them rushed over to open it excitedly.

Coming across the food in the box, the officers were taken aback. Still unconvinced, they questioned Sean Knight:

"Where’d you get this box?"

Sean Knight had already tidied up the box which, rusty as it was, did not seem freshly salvaged. Hence, he replied:

"Bought it off a treasure hunter named Caprio Parker – All for the cost of two hundred dollars."

As Sean Knight , he felt a twinge of satisfaction at capriciously implicating Caprio.

The marine police officers ultimately found nothing of interest, but still felt compelled to lecture Sean Knight.

which Sean Knight ignored. He shot a look at Douglas Cooper who, catching on, followed the officers out.

After a while, the marine police boat departed. Upon his return, Douglas Cooper reported,

"Boss, I slipped the guy a hundred dollars. According to the marine cop, the ones who reported us are from that Japanese yacht. They accused us of illegally salvaging from the seafloor..."

"Damn it!" Elijah was furious, "We didn’t bother them and now they’re coming for us! I’m not letting them get away with this."

"No rush. If they want to play, we’ll play!" Sean Knight’s face turned icy.

Usually amicable when it came to treasure hunting, Sean Knight realised that in this situation, surrounded by wolves, being good would only lead to being devoured!

"It’s still too early to make a move. Let’s wait for midnight. I’ve got something good in store."

Sean Knight was set in his resolution. If the other party wanted to play dirty, then they shouldn’t complain when he decided to play dirtier!

Upon docking the yacht, the four pals got off. With the iron box in tow, Sean Knight swaggered back to the hotel.

They encountered the three Japanese people on the way out.

The sight of the old iron box in Sean Knight’s hands took them aback!

Sean Knight merely gave them a friendly smile before entering the hotel.

Returning to their boat, the Japanese woman anxiously said,

"It seems like those Chinese have found something. We need to speed up our efforts!"

"Are you sure? The treasure should be under the warship. We’ve circled it several times and haven’t found a suitable place to dig. Even if we were to dig from below, it’d take at least half a month, how could they possibly be that quick?"

"Regardless, we must find out where they got that iron box from! According to the intelligence we’ve gathered, that box is the same as the one used to store the treasure!"

Takeuchi Meiko was adamant.

"It’s up to you then, Miss Meiko." Nobita Ichinann remarked, "Chinese men are usually very alert when it comes to us. If we were to be the ones to make the move, it would only make the situation worse!"

"Hopefully, our report hasn’t been traced back to us."
