Chapter 438: Chapter 314: Master, this is a Master! _2

"Alright!" Elijah Hastings also looked around, then smiled and said:

"As long as we dig down more than half a meter, once a person gets into the hole, the target will be smaller."

Afterward, he picked up a shovel and started digging.

Sean Knight helped expand the hole a bit, then took the shovel and walked down the hillside to see if there was an easier place to enter.

Because the mountain was very steep, it was relatively thin. Sean estimated that the middle of the mountain, from this side to the other, would be less than 100 meters.

He activated Sky Eye again and began scanning.

The first thing he noticed was several caves at the foot of the mountain, but they were a bit too far from the empty space within. Even the deepest one was still about ten meters away, making it difficult to dig.

Sean continued searching as he walked.

Outside the forest, about 200 meters away from Sean and the others’ off-road vehicle, a motorcycle was parked by the road.

Carter, who had been punched by Elijah, was watching the area with another young man.

"Boss, should we go in and check it out?"

"No need. We’re waiting for them to find the treasure, not to watch them dig..."

"What if we take a video of them digging and tell the villagers, like last time when they were beaten up and sent to the police station? Won’t that get you your revenge?"

"What if they don’t dig? What if they find out about us? Won’t our plan fail? Anyway, we already know there’s no treasure in here, so we might as well keep an eye on it from a distance."

"Alright, you’re the boss. You have the final say."

Carter wanted to follow them and take a video for revenge.

However, he was afraid of Elijah’s fists. Those fists could break a rock in half!

Over the past two days, he had secretly tried smashing rocks, but couldn’t even break them apart, let alone with no pain!

To think that he was hit in the stomach by Elijah but could still stand. If he hadn’t held back his full power, Carter would have been punched with a hole!

So, he didn’t dare to get too close, but he couldn’t let go of this opportunity - if he could find the treasure with them, he could also make a fortune!

Finally, on the other side of the mountain, Sean discovered a natural cave - or a more appropriate term would be a rock crevice.

About 1.5 meters high, one would have to bend over to enter. Originally half a meter wide, it had been modified by someone or something and was now almost a meter wide.

The inside of the cave was winding and deep, with the end being about two meters away from the empty space.

The mountain wasn’t made of particularly hard stone, and it had many crevices. It was also layered, somewhat like shale.

The cave was relatively large. Sean shone an emergency light inside; it was damp, and there were traces of something being burned. However, the traces were very old, with no way to tell how long ago.

Arriving at the end, Sean picked up the shovel and began to strike the interior.

After a few hits, large pieces of stone came falling down.

Sean stopped, waiting for the noise to quiet down, then activated Sky Eye and looked up.

The only change he noticed was these fallen rocks; otherwise, the mountain remained the same.

Fortunately, it was safe.

Then Sean continued to strike.

After working for a while, he started clearing the passage. Half an hour later, he had opened up the two-meter tunnel - the last obstacle was a 10-centimeter-thick cement layer. This was the hardest part to break but also symbolized the starting point of hope.

Unexpectedly, it was so easy.

A musty scent wafted out. Sean had come prepared with a gas mask, which he put on before removing the mask 10 minutes later. The smell was still present, but it had become bearable.

He ignited a lighter and found the flame swaying; there was air circulation, so oxygen wouldn’t be a problem.

As it turned out, there was a ventilation hole in the cave.

Sean carefully stepped over the rocks and entered the cave, Sky Eye activated.

Behind the cement layer were rows and rows of boxes - weapon boxes.

Could this place be a weapons depot?

The boxes contained brand new rifles. Sean knocked over one of the boxes, and the clattering sound echoed for a while before finally dying down.

He turned on the emergency light and carefully stepped on the boxes, changing his footing several times before finally stepping on solid ground.

He held the emergency light and looked around, discovering that the space was about 100 meters long, 50-60 meters wide. As for the height, it was triangular, thanks to the mountain’s natural shape. A layer of cement had been applied to the inner wall of the mountain for reinforcement.

There were ventilation holes in the mountain’s hollow space, so the air wasn’t stifling, but it still smelled musty.

The items inside were almost all boxes.

A glance revealed weapons and ammunition filling the room.

Large quantities of World War II-period submachine guns, rifles, pistols, machine guns, mortars, and various bullets and shells.

Sean Knight casually collected dozens of boxes in the spatial realm and then stopped. Some of these things were enough, and having too many would be of no great use.

Walking further in, he found that in the last one-third of the space, boxes were filled with various documents.

Although Sean had studied for a while, he didn’t understand much of it now if he were to translate it - it was all professional jargon, and he wasn’t interested.

Continuing walkthrough, he became interested in some other things he saw.

Here, there were boxes of German Marks, British Pounds, and US Dollars! At least forty or fifty boxes!

He opened one box and examined it carefully.

The cash didn’t seem new; it appeared to have been used before.

Real money?

Sky Eye scanned it and found no flaws.

Then put it away.

Sean left one box of everything and put the rest in the spatial realm.

Further back, Sean found the familiar gold bars with serial numbers cast and boxed.

This was his favorite; he counted roughly ten boxes.

Each box contained twenty 5-kilograms gold bars, totaling one ton of gold.

Sean took away eight boxes and left two.

He did not plan to monopolize them. He feared that if these things were discovered in Sweden and heavily taxed, it would be better to take them himself first and then compensate Cheryl Suweton, Elijah Hastings, and others later.

As for weapons and ammunition, a rough estimate was at least four to five hundred boxes to be left as taxes.

After refilling the positions of the cash and gold with boxes of weapons and ammunition, Sean came back out through the original cave.

When he arrived at Elijah’s side, Sean was surprised to find both Cheryl and Lincoln Harrington and Douglas Cooper there.

They were all digging holes with Elijah.

"Alright, stop digging. I found a cave leading inside." Sean called out to them.

Cheryl screamed first, then immediately raised her index finger to her lips:

"Shh!"

Sean looked puzzled.

"Just now, when we came over, there were two kids watching this place. As soon as we arrived, they were frightened away!"

"Douglas, go outside and check!"

At this point, Elijah and Lincoln had already crawled out of the hole.

"Boss, is the treasure really in the mountain?" Elijah whispered, suppressing his excitement.

"Yes, I just went in and looked. There are a lot of weapons, ammunition, technical materials, and so on."

"Then..." Cheryl could not wait to ask: "Is there gold, artwork?"

"There is gold, but no artwork. There are some cash, though."

"Not bad." Cheryl was slightly disappointed but thought it wasn’t too bad either. The gold from the Schutzstaffel during World War II was not directly depreciated at the current price. It could appreciate in value, and by quite a bit.

As for the cash of that time, of course, it could not be used as banknotes, and it became a collectible item.

"Let’s go and take a look." Sean took a shovel and led them towards the cave.

After crawling through the winding cave and finally seeing the cave interior under Sean’s emergency light, both Elijah, Cheryl, and Lincoln looked astonished.

They didn’t know that the cave had been originally formed and had been simply modified by the Schutzstaffel. Instead, they thought it was purely dug out by them.

What a huge amount of work!

Could this be completed in a short time?

Elijah picked up a German G43 semi-automatic rifle from an open box.

There was a thick layer of yellow grease on the gun. He pulled the gun machine, looked inside, and said, "Brand new."

"A rifle like this, in an antique gun shop, 6,000 dollars," Cheryl quoted, "at least."

There were about a few thousand rifles here.

And other firearms as well.

Whether they were worth any money or not, it was very impressive!
