Chapter 425: Chapter three hundred and eight: Why is the Royal Family so good?
Several treasure hunting teams were passionately arguing over a map in a spacious room within the palace.
Everyone desired to choose the area they deemed best, in order to find the crown, obtain the bounty, and secure a treasure clue allegedly worth several million, even billions of Euros.
"Okay, okay, colleagues, let’s not quarrel anymore." Ben’s leader tenaciously slapped an antique table and yelled.
This movement caused the heart of a nearby waiter to fiercely leap within his chest.
That table has a history of over two hundred years!
"What do you want to say?" Another team lead looked at him, "If you think making the biggest noise gives you the advantage, then I must inform you, that you have misunderstood!"
"No! No! No!" Ben’s leader, Thomas, waved his hand, "Did you not notice that we are missing a group amongst us? The treasure hunting team from China is not here..."
"Isn’t it good if they are not here?" Said the team leader with a dog, who was embarrassed in front of Sean Knight yesterday, he sneered, "We didn’t fail to invite him. It’s not our fault if he doesn’t show up."
"That’s it. If he doesn’t come, we’ll pick the leftovers for him." Another team leader said cunningly.
The only female team leader, Nolan, noted: "Isn’t this unfair?"
"What’s unfair about it?" Thomas scoffed, "Who asked him not to come? Alright, let’s quickly divide up the areas."
The several team leaders immediately began marking lines on the map.
"Let’s give this part to the Chinese boy. Isn’t he self-proclaimed as the lucky boy? Let’s see his luck!"
At that moment, Andrew Petrov knocked and entered.
"Mr. Petrov, time is short, we have already divided up the areas that we’re each responsible for searching." Thomas saw no one behind Andrew and a triumphant smile flashed across his face, then he said:
"Since the Chinese treasure hunt team did not arrive, the area he is responsible for will be decided by us..."
Andrew gave him a strange look, asking:
"Do you all agree with this?"
The others nodded, only Nolan hesitated for a moment, but in the end, she said nothing.
Seeing everyone’s expressions, Andrew took a deep breath and announced:
"I hereby announce, the crown has been found. This treasure hunt is over. Your respective teams will each receive ten thousand Euros in cash from the royal family. At noon, there will be a celebration banquet held by the royal family. Please attend."
Having said this, Andrew turned to leave.
"Mr. Petrov, please wait!" Those who were initially stunned by the news shouted when they saw Andrew leaving.
Andrew stopped and turned around, looking at them expressionlessly.
Thomas swallowed and asked:
"Was the crown... found by the Chinese boy?"
"Yes." Andrew emphasized, "It was found by Mr. Sean Knight’s team. Mr. Thomas, I hope you could change your tone of speech. Mr. Knight is a distinguished guest of the royal family, we do not wish to hear improper terms about him."
Thomas was choked for a moment but couldn’t dispute it.
Andrew’s momentum made him unconsciously feel intimidated.
Nolan asked:
"Where... where did they find it?"
"On a lamppost behind the palace." Andrew said and then nodded slightly before turning to leave.
Nolan looked at the map on the table.
The area near the palace was the area that the other team leaders had assigned to Sean.
In their view, this was the least likely place for the thief to have hidden anything.
Even if there was something hidden, couldn’t the people in the palace find it?
Who would have thought that, right there, Sean and his team would find the crown!
Does good fortune indeed always accompany this Chinese boy?
The faces of the team leaders were gloomy.
Although they really couldn’t accept it, they were at a loss for words.
So, they had lost the bet?
"Are you going to the banquet?" Thomas asked.
"Yes, why not go?" Another team leader gritted his teeth, "Even if it’s to maintain a good relationship with the royal family, I will attend."
He had further motives that he kept unsaid. Yesterday, while conversing with a waiter, he had heard that the little princess of the royal family had returned. This mysterious little princess rarely appeared in public. If...
The other leaders also decided to attend the noon banquet.
"Boss, that’s amazing!" Exclaimed Douglas, thumbing up, "I really didn’t expect to find it on this lamppost - that’s magical!"
"Do you understand the darkness under the lamppost?" Sean was skilled at reasoning cause from the outcome, he smiled and said, "No one thought it would be around here, so that’s what made here the most likely place."
The crown has been handed over to Andrew, and Andrew had formally issued a receipt.
Sean preferred this rigorous approach. And Andrew also confirmed that the crown, studded with a large diamond, was indeed the princess consort’s crown.
"I wonder when they will give us the clue." Sean said.
"Probably after the banquet?" Elijah speculated, "After the banquet, this matter should come to an end. The next step should happen."
"I’m not waiting for the banquet." Douglas made a face, "I really cannot withstand the food here. Ah, I really want to return home and have some delicious food."
At this point, the others also seemed to share this sentiment.
