Chapter 424: Chapter 307: Who’s Afraid of Who?_2
Just at this moment, the barking of the dog from the direction of the dog-squad suddenly grew louder, and several people instinctively glanced at each other.
Sean Knight said:
"Let’s go and check it out!"
Did the other party already find it?
As this thought crossed Sean’s mind, his pace quickened, and within three minutes, he caught up with the team on the other side.
The dog was barking frantically at a hole hidden in the bushes, and the five-person squad seemed quite excited.
"How come we didn’t notice this hole before?"
"You’d be surprised if you could find it; we were searching on the other side before," the squad members teased each other.
They also noticed Sean and his group, and two of them immediately turned around, ready to guard.
"We have no ill intentions, we just want to take a look," Sean said loudly.
Elijah and the other two also put away their metal detectors, indicating that they meant no harm.
The other party continued to be on guard, but not as tense as they were earlier.
As the dog barking became more urgent, Sean’s Sky Eye couldn’t see anything from this distance.
However, he guessed that it might not necessarily be the crown inside.
Douglas Cooper whispered:
"Boss, if it really is the crown, should we grab it?"
"Rob? Screw that," Elijah slapped him and responded, "Can you rob this? What to do after robbing? Are you planning to eliminate everyone?"
"We can’t just let them find the crown like this, right?"
"We still don’t know if it is or not," Lincoln Harrington, who had raised dogs before, chimed in. "I feel like there should be a living creature inside."
Members of the opposing squad had already started digging into the hole.
The dog’s barking became even more cheerful, and the person holding it had to pull hard to hold it back.
The digging squad member became excited as he seemed to touch something soft.
"Could it be a package hidden by the thief?" the team member guessed as he continued digging.
Just at this moment, a dark shadow suddenly sprang from the hole and slammed hard into the digging squad member!
It was an otter!
Or rather, an animal that looked like an otter, with such great force that it knocked the squad member over!
"Hahahaha!" Douglas couldn’t help but laugh.
Sean glared at him, and said:
"All right, let’s go."
It wasn’t necessary to watch the commotion. They just needed to know that the other party hadn’t found the crown.
At this moment, the dog from the opposing team was already tangled with the otter, and the squad members were busy breaking up the fight, not paying attention to Sean and his group.
Avoiding the search area they came from, Sean and his group searched their way back to the King’s Palace, and the sun had already set.
Andrew Petrov was waiting outside, and upon seeing Sean and his group, he politely bowed slightly and said:
"Mr. Knight, gentlemen, please follow me. The Royal Family has prepared a place for you to rest."
Douglas whispered:
"I never imagined that one day we would stay in a royal palace."
He spoke quietly, but Andrew still heard, pausing momentarily before saying:
"Because you are distinguished guests."
Elijah and the other two immediately looked at Sean. They believed that Andrew’s words were meant only for Sean.
A person’s greatness lies in self-awareness.
Andrew led them through the main hall of the palace and took them to a secondary building behind it. Sean asked as they walked:
"Where was the princess consort’s crown originally kept?"
Andrew glanced at the main hall in the distance and said:
"It was there. According to the analysis, the thief stole the crown and slipped down from the window, then went along this side..."
Andrew pointed to a spot beside the secondary building and said:
"He went along here and left. But where he went after that, we have no idea."
Sean looked in that direction, his Sky Eye unconsciously scanning but not seeing anything on the ground.
"Alright, Mr. Knight, let’s go. We’re almost there," said Andrew Petrov.
Sean followed him to the entrance of the annex building.
Once they reached the entrance, Sean turned his head for another look and suddenly felt his eyes brighten!
However, the three people beside him didn’t notice what Sean had discovered, and they hurried him into the building.
It was an old building, but it had been renovated and looked pretty good.
Andrew arranged for them to stay in a room on the second floor and said he would bring food over later so they could rest well.
At this time, the street lamps outside the palace were already lit.
Sean had initially planned to go out after the meal, but Andrew specifically reminded him in a phone call:
"Mr. Knight, please make sure your friends stay put tonight, as wandering around the palace is not allowed."
Okay.
Sean felt that waiting patiently wasn’t a big deal.
He didn’t believe that thing would disappear overnight.
Early the next day, after the four of them had breakfast, Andrew came over and said:
"Mr. Knight, the other teams are planning to have a meeting to divide the search area for the crown. Do you need to participate?"
"No, no, no," Sean waved his hand, "We don’t need to participate. We already have a set target, and perhaps the treasure hunt will be over by this morning."
Andrew’s eyes lit up, and he bowed slightly, saying:
"I hope so."
After Andrew left, Douglas Cooper eagerly asked:
"Boss, did you find the location?"
Elijah Hastings and Lincoln Harrington also looked at him.
"Yes, if I didn’t see or guess wrong," Sean chuckled.
"So, do we need to bring anything?" Douglas’s face was full of joy, "If we find it directly, we don’t need to bring anything, right?"
At this point, Andrew had already reported Sean’s words to a mysterious woman.
"Really? Did he say that?" the woman exclaimed, "Did he say where it is?"
"No, Your Royal Highness," Andrew bowed, "But I think we can keep an eye on them from this room. You can see where they are going and what they are doing when they leave."
The woman couldn’t wait and hurried to the window, took the telescope from Andrew, and looked at the exit of the annex building.
A few minutes later, Sean and his friends came out of the annex and headed towards the main hall instead of outside the palace – in a straight line.
Then, halfway through, Sean stopped.
He said something to Douglas, who hesitated for a moment, but eventually agreed.
Douglas stretched his body and walked over to a street lamp pole, embracing it with both hands and then started climbing up – or should it be walking?
His climbing method was unique, with both feet parallel to the ground while stepping on the pole and both hands alternately climbing up. His body and the pole formed a triangle.
In less than half a minute, Douglas reached the top and reached for the lamp above.
At the top of the lamp was an inverted pyramid, larger at the top and smaller at the bottom, with a recess.
However, Douglas didn’t find anything and came down disappointed.
Sean and the others then headed to another street lamp location.
By now, the woman understood how Sean and his friends were searching.
She immediately used the telescope to look at the lamppost, but unfortunately, she was on the second floor with a level view, and she couldn’t see it.
The woman dashed out towards the third floor, found a room with a window, and looked through the telescope.
But by this time, Lincoln had already taken the crown down from the lamppost, and they all excitedly high-fived each other.
It was that simple...
The woman never thought that the crown would be hidden in the palace, just in a place they hadn’t considered!
Andrew arrived, panting, and once he caught his breath, he told the woman:
"Your Royal Highness, please maintain composure at all times. It would be very impolite to be seen like you were just now."
"Uncle Andrew, I think it’s fun to be unladylike sometimes," the woman, in a good mood as she saw Sean and the others walking towards the main hall with the crown, smiled and said:
"Alright, they have found the crown and will come to you soon. I’ll leave first!"
Andrew looked up in surprise, but his eyesight wasn’t very good.
The woman shoved the telescope into his hand and hummed a tune as she left.
Andrew could no longer bother urging the woman to maintain her composure, and when he looked over with the telescope, he indeed discovered the crown!
