Road to becoming the wealthiest: Starting From Treasure Hunting in the Cabinets
Chapter 420 - 305: Is it Intentional or Malicious?

Chapter 420: Chapter 305: Is it Intentional or Malicious?

Perhaps due to communication convenience, the other party spoke in English, though it did sound a bit awkward.

"This is Sean Knight, I have time now, however, I’d like to know what reward is being offered." Sean finally decided to hear what it was all about.

If this turned out to be a scam, Sean was prepared for it.

If it was about money, then it was a non-starter!

"It’s like this." The other party didn’t seem surprised by Sean’s question and simply replied, "An important artifact from the Swedish Royal Family has gone missing. We only have a general idea of where it might be and we need treasure hunters to help us recover it. An important person recommended you."

On hearing this, it didn’t sound much like a scam anymore.

Sean asked again:

"Where is it? When? What kind of preparations should I make?"

"Europe, you should come to the capital of Sweden first. We’ll discuss the specifics here, and if both parties agree, we’ll sign a contract and begin treasure hunting."

After thinking for a moment, Sean asked:

"How many other treasure hunters are participating in this reward event like me?"

"Five teams." The other party replied earnestly, "Four are already in Europe and one is about to depart. Your team was added at the last minute, so we hope that you’d not disappoint the expectation of that important person and arrive as soon as possible."

Perhaps fearing that Sean might not come, the other party added:

"If you complete the task, you would not only gain the friendship of the Swedish Royal Family, but would also receive a substantial bonus. Additionally, Sweden will provide a clue for a treasure hunting opportunity."

Now, this was getting interesting!

Sean immediately replied:

"Alright, I agree to come, but it may take a few days to prepare."

"No problem, I look forward to welcoming you."

The other party hung up the phone.

Sean found this quite interesting and decided to give it a shot.

After hanging up the call, Sean had arrived on the island. By this time, Elijah Hastings, with Julia Moore and Amelia Smith, had almost climbed to the highest point on the island.

Sean simply bypassed them and went to explore in a different direction, hoping to discover something new.

Not even a few hundred meters away, he looked up and saw Elijah with Julia and Amelia reaching the top of the mountain, marking up a map, and discussing some initial design concepts.

Sean didn’t bother with that. He launched the Sky Eye and began scanning the halfway hill on his side.

He then noticed a huge chunk of green ore come into view.

Copper Mine?

Sean was surprised, wasn’t that too extravagant?

This was very different from the gold vein he had discovered earlier which was mainly line-shaped. The ore there should also have contained gold, but the natural gold was mostly found in veins.

However, in the area underneath him, there was a vast chunk of green ore stretching out as far as he could see!

Sean was a layman when it came to mining and didn’t know if this ore was rich or poor. He simply took out a small shovel, dug a pit on the mountainside, knocked off a piece of copper ore and decided to have someone study it later.

He put the copper ore into his backpack, continued walking, and after about four or five hundred meters, noticed that the color of the stones inside had faded.

But this was only the outer contour, the ore continued to stretch inward, deep into the ground, and he had no idea how many meters deep it went.

Sean found himself in a conundrum - if the mineral quality turned out to be good, should he mine it or not?

What a hassle!

Putting this issue aside, Sean continued on his way.

At this time, Elijah, Julia, and Amelia began walking along the edge of the hillside.

The mountain paths were difficult to traverse, so they walked slowly. Sean was able to get ahead of them.

However, this island was quite large, and it was impossible to survey it fully in a couple of days. Fortunately, Julia’s main goal was to check for significant discrepancies between the actual topography and the maps, and to assess the geological conditions.

After all, while some areas were covered by stone mountains, if the stone quality was soft, they weren’t suitable for being repurposed into airport runways. This required notation in the design.

Sean walked a few kilometers further but didn’t discover any additional ores, feeling somewhat disappointed yet relieved.

If he had discovered any more mines, his plans for renovating the island might have to be scrapped.

After walking for a while, as the elevation dropped the paths converged.

"Mr. Knight, transforming this island is a massive undertaking." was Julia’s first comment after seeing Sean, "There is simply too much rock and stone on this island, making excavation and mining very difficult, requiring large amounts of funds."

"As long as it can be done, that’s all that matters." Sean wasn’t concerned with costs, with a large sum of money lying in the bank and his properties - the Manor, Ranch, and Freight Yard in New York - constantly generating more. He felt he could afford to take some financial liberties.

Seeing Sean’s unconcern, Julia didn’t dwell on the issue. Instead, she went on to say,

"This island is large enough and Mr. Knight’s requirements are not very extensive, which makes the planning quite simple.

Moreover, if funding isn’t an issue for Mr. Knight, I would propose first building a pier, followed by a highway either encircling the entire island or at least half of it. It would facilitate travel as well as assist further developmental planning."

"That’s a good idea." Sean was immediately intrigued, experts were indeed experts. With just a few words she had pointed out the key considerations.

"If there’s money left over, we can also convert a part of it into a beach." Amelia Smith suggested, "If people are going to live on the island, it would naturally be better to have some leisure spots. Currently, the island is surrounded by stone mountains and there is no beach so there aren’t many recreational activities that can be done."
